Rosenkavalier, one of my top three operas. Can’t say how many times l have seen this production with many different casts at Staatsoper. This one is a very good indeed. Again, for me, Garanca is the best Octavian in the last twenty years.

I saw Garanca at the New York Met some years ago and she was really and absolutely disappointing. Good looks, a relative good actress, she was barely audible. I have seen her again and again in many videos and in a horrid production of Carmen, filmen on a fake Cuba, with nothing to do with the story and surtitles in Lituanian, something incredible! Anyway, thanks for uploading this video.

You lucky, lucky man or woman! I'm utterly infatuated with this opera but also Wien, and to my mind the two are almost the same...
-She is indeed wonderful! First saw her in La Cenerentola, then Carmen. Good girl, bad girl. lol
