Found a GMC 35000 HD like this. Dealer ordered it to plow snow so it has a block heater, dual batteries, and spray in bed liner. Pick it up in a couple of days. Tried a couple of "Costco" 4 door trucks with all the video game attachments and screens because nobody had one of these. Had a few salesman sort of laugh at me and asked why I wanted a standard cab 8' box. What a stupid question to ask a serious buyer who wants a real truck I thought. These fancy, high priced, can't haul much trucks are not my thing and wanted a real truck again to do real work with it so I am retiring my 02 HD after 22 years of it working almost flawlessly, hope this one serves me well too. Good video and thanks!

I ordered a WT regular cab 4x4 like this with NO option's. It will be $49,195 plus tax of $2500+/-. It was a pain in the ass finding a dealer that would order it like that. They all want to put you in $65,000+++ four door 6’ bed “automobiles”. It’s all about city boy LARPers that want electronic computer gizmos.

Damn right! You cannot find those anywhere!
I don’t want a locomotive to plow snow with and a ton of blind spots. I can’t stand the crew cab. I get it if you have a young family and have to follow orders from mama and run the kids around, but if not for that, all the xtra space makes for a creaky truck .
The WT pkg are and have always been beefier looking too. Vinyl floors no gross smell in carpet. A 6 ft bed is useless imo as a landscaper contractor so reg cab 8ft makes sense.
I’ve owned 3 wt models, currently in a crew cab, but had the best Luck w the wr pkg. I also had the chrome option on them with few xtra different features each reaching 200 k at trade in and that’s the gods honest truth.
      Bring Bach the regular cab

Would be great if we could get a single cab long bed in the regular Silverado trims instead of just WT

You can on the HD. The new style dash with the big screens, multiflex tailgate, etc. The mid level trims

Definitely. I have Daydreams of building one of these regular cabs. But that front end is something to deal with.

Factory spray in bedliner should be standard on a work truck

It would be nice but some people prefer drop in's or nothing at all.

Like it a lot except the driver's seat sits too low for me and I'm 5'10". I test drove one with almost the exact same options as this truck. It would be perfect if the seat could be adjusted 2" higher.

Are you able to order other trim levels in the reg cab long box other than just w/t
Would like one loaded and diesel

What is the mpg? It matters to me. If it's not great it may make the diesel a more attractive option. Thanks

I think I saw maybe about 7. something on one of the dashboard displays which would be expected for that new engine. My 08 Sierra 2500 extended cab with the 6.0l has only ever averaged 10.

@@tomhandel9176really? I thought this would get 12-14 mpg

I’ve seen on the road tests up to 18-20 mpg on the highway holding at 65mph.

This is 2024, lots more government mandates for safety and emissions. It’s only going to get more costly. Especially in 20 years when ICE is banned.

@@AncientRe Price of the truck is one thing to consider when your talking about inflation and changing dollar values, but you also have to figure Income hasn’t kept pace with inflation. In simple terms price of vehicles have doubled but the middle class pay hasn’t…..that’s where my “affordable?” Comment comes from. Also factor in that interest rates have more than doubled takes another hit to affordability

    • @auntie_Slayer
      @auntie_Slayer 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@AncientReLmao, no its not. As of March 2024, $25,000 in 2004 is worth $41,666.49 in 2024
So this truck would need to be less than $41,666.49 for it to be considered cheaper when accounting for inflation.
This truck is $50,000. So 50,000-41,666.= $8,334 MORE youre PAYING, or a 16.6% increase mind you.
By your logic, we should have been paying 30k for a 25k truck in 2004 right???
