How to Build a Super Realistic Initial-D Toyota AE86 Step by Step: Aoshima 1/24 Model Kit

- Hi there, today I will show you how to build the Initial-D Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 kit from Aoshima.

I had a friend that used to be really into doing model cars he taught me a couple a little tricks I never thought of he used to make seat belts out of masking tape and then paint them all up and put them in the car he would also heat the bottom of the wheels up in a skillet so they smash out a little bit it makes it look like the tires actually have air in them in the car has weight it's not just sitting on top of round plastic tires and he would detail the windows so it looks like the windshield wipers have actually ran across the window you know what I'm talkin about where you see the part where the windshield wiper hasn't cleaned it and it's hazier just a little bit those little tiny things like that make a big difference
It seems as though his models needed a car wash and the tires inflated...haha j/k. I did similar stuff to my models as well when I was a kid.

i think the scale of the water cup is wrong tho, seems too big compare to the rest of the model.

Oh but if you would be right then you forgat to tell the 11000rpm tachometer.
@@TomeeThe9 yeah but now he has a Black Carbon Fiber hood. by then, Bunta already installed the special 4-AGE and then the bucket seat 2 seasons before the carbon fiber came in.

Squishy. The carbon fibre bonnet is installed halfway into the 4th season, the bucket seat and racing engine is installed in the 2nd season.

Man, I used to make model airplanes and tanks. I always saw the car kits at the local hobby shop but always thought they were lame. No idea why, this is freaking amazing. Maybe because I've become more of a car guy? IDK, but great job. Looks amazing.

Yes, someone picked that up apart from me, But still a very good quality build indeed....even tho I have the AutoArt diecast version of this very same car with black bonnet and correct engine with it, I still want this buildup model kit ...

Also that engine is inaccurate. The red top implies it's a small port which Takumi never had. He had the earlier big port engine

Only one side note: by the time the Hachiroku was equipped with a black bonnet, it already had a bucket seat for the driver.
And the 20v Silver-Top Groupe A engine

Very nice!! I used to build model kits too, when I was younger, but never painted any of them. I mostly bought the tamiya, or testors model kits, because they usually came molded in 3 colors.

You have to take out the masking tape befor the paint is dry to avoid pealing

Just pointing out a mistake in this build, the Toyota Corolla Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX AE86's 4AGE engine head cover is supposed to have a frost white coat with blue lettering, they were nicknamed 'Bluetops'. It is the first generation 4AGE engine, followed by 'Redtops', 'Silvertops' and lastly 'Blacktops'.
The Corolla was the Levin.

6:11 why the tachometer is at 8000 rpm max? Takumi got a carbon hood after upgrading his tachometers to 11000 rpm and btw Takumi's AE86 got black windows but you have do a nice work.
this is before the upgrades, he shouldn't have painted the hood black, also one small detail takumi has wind deflectors, also when he got the tach and the hood he got a seat as well because bunta injured himself while driving.
I mean, even so, it's still an amazing job regardless of the slight error
