Fun fact: the actress playing Thalia was very close to Lance reddict (Zeus) so It's very heartwarming knowing someone close to the actor for Zeus gets to play he's Daughter. RIP Lance 😢
I feel like the casting for Poseidon in the show was super good. The only difference was hair color. Also they are always describing Percy as looking like him, and he and Walker look very similar.
Not really.. Walker has blue eyes and blonde curly hair, Percy has sea green eyes and messy (NOT CURLY) black hair while the personality’s are the same it can be hard for people to see him as Percy due to the differences in looks. I think a animated version would been much better
Part 2 Sally Jackson: a woman that looks older than she is with long brown hair and blue eyes, striped apron, a kind personality Tyson: a cyclops with a muscular figure, medium length brown hair, one big brown eye, crooked sharp teeth, and a wide smile Piper McLean- teenage Native American girl with dark brown hair/ multi colored eyes / extremely pretty / brown skin / Hello Kitty t-shirt / jeans / sneakers Athena: a goddess with Olive Skin / black hair / grey eyes / bronze armor / white robes Dionysus: a god with curly black hair / purple eyes / beard / fat figure / leopard print Hawaiian shirt / shorts / socks and sandals / immature & grumpy Zoe Nightshade: teenage girl / Middle Eastern descent / dark brown hair / thin / stoic Bianca Di Angelo: teenage girl with black hair and olive skin / wearing a green beret / jacket / skirt / stockings / old timey shoes Reyna- teenage Latina girl with black hair tan skin, black eyes, golden armor, purple t-shirt, jeans, sandals, long cape Ethan Nakamura: a Japanese American teenage boy with glossy black hair/ a skinny figure / eye patch on his left eye/ wearing bronze armor and evil Estelle Blofis: a toddler with salt and pepper hair , and sea green eyes Apollo: a god who looks like a teenager with blond hair, blue eyes, athletic figure, white teeth, band t-shirt, jeans, flannel Artemis: a goddess who looks like a teenager, with red hair, freckles, yellow eyes, silver parka, leather boots, jeans Mrs. O’Leary: a giant black mastiff with red eyes Will Solace: a white teenage boy with blonde hair, blue eyes, green polo shirt over orange t-shirt, shorts, sandals, white teeth Kronos- a college age boy with a scar down his right eye, golden eyes, evil smile, sharp teeth, evil looking armor, black cape Gaia- a goddess wearing a green dress, pure green eyes, a beautiful face, black hair Nope- a giant black mastiff puppy, with red eyes Hecate- a goddess with blonde hair, wearing a black dress, and black stilettos
Not sure if or when we would get heroes of Olympus but to be honest I am looking really forward to see who they would pick for Piper McLean for the show!
Ngl same thing that happened to Morgan when reading hazels description happened to me when I read pipers description and didn’t realize she was Native American so the whole time I thought she was white until trials of Apollo came out and I decided to look at every characters wiki
I'm so glad you finally made this video! I know the Harry Potter/Wizarding World franchise is your favourite franchise but you should give the Percy Jackson/Riordanverse franchise some more love.
The Nico one isn’t how I think of him like his shoulders are so broad in the ai picture. But Nico is like described to look like his entire diet is one grape a day
Regarding the casting of actors I can honestly ignore differences like Percy's blond/black hair. Like, the actor is more important than the hair colour (unless it's a crucial detail, like Snow White for example, considering in the German original fairy tale she is explicitly described with hair dark as ebony (and as a side tangent, that's my biggest problem with the coming live action Snow White movie. She is literally described as having skin white as snow. That's where the f-ing name comes from!))
I feel the same way about Snow White 😭 Like…Her whole thing is that she has “hair black as ebony and skin white as snow” Like…Seriously?! Her name is her description and you’re just going to ignore the description?! 😭😭😭
I don't really mind the difference because the show still feels really distinct from the show to me. Book Percy and Show Percy are two different character in my mind.
Actually Snow Whites hair is the only part of her that is discriped. I just looked up the text to check what I new already. Her mother whishes for a daughter white as snow, red as blood and black as ebony but Snow Whites skin is not mentioned to be white. Colors in fairtales are always symbolic. White could just refere to her heart. Also what about her hair? Her hair is far more her signature then her skin. I always pictured her hair very long and much more then her skin or her lips. That's why I never liked the short cut on the old Disney animation. One of the murder adempt by the Stepmother is putting a venemous comb in her hair which she dose by combning it. Still she is called Snow White not Black Ebony and the reason is not her skin but because she is pure and innocent. I grew up whiththe old fair tales and honestly I don't care about Snow White's skin color. Her skin could be blue and the story would still be the same. The core of the story is the jealousy and envy of the Stepmother not a skin color.
As a person of color myself (Afro-Latino ✌🏾) “Race-swapping” characters is kinda weird for me. On one hand, I don’t disagree that a character’s ethnicity or color of skin isn’t always integral to who they are, but on the other hand, it feels disingenuous to make characters more ethnically diverse to cater to audiences when that wasn’t how the character was envisioned by their author. It doesn’t help that the characters who get “race-swapped” are almost exclusively side characters and not the main characters, making it feel like people of color can only portray the less important characters in the story and not the protagonist. Like if the Percy Jackson crew went out of their way to race swap characters, why stop at only the side characters and not Percy himself? 🤷🏾♂️ Now, there are examples of race swapped characters I’ve enjoyed, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon to name some recent examples; but just because they cast these characters with black actors doesn’t mean I would’ve liked these characters any less had these actors not been cast in those roles. Personally, I think the ideal way to spotlight more diverse characters & actors is to adapt or create stories that actually feature characters of color; in fact, Rick Riordan himself wrote the Kane Chronicles, books in the world of Percy Jackson that follow a black protagonist (and his white sister) and feature multiple characters of color as well as Egyptian mythology. I understand that what gets adapted depends on popularity and not diversity, but there are definitely diverse stories out there that deserve an adaptation as much as Percy Jackson. My final point being that studios should want diversity, but should bring us that diversity through the projects they make, not by artificially inserting diversity where there was none to begin with; but that’s just my take 🤷🏾♂️ Bless you if you read all of this 👌🏾😂
hi Morgan, i've been watching your videos since before covid and i never get tired of them. your a huge inspiration to me and you got me into Harry potter! every time you post, my day gets better. keep up the amazing work and congrats on being a soon to be dad! you and Cara are going to be amazing parents! - A fan and fellow Potterhead
Unfortunately, i had some orange juice in my mouth, sitting in front of my laptop and as soon as I saw Grover, the entire orange juice content sprang out from my mouth, into my laptop( which was very expensive btw). Now i am commenting this from my phone. Thanks a lot!😃😄
I wish they had given Leah Jeffries blonde braids. It would have just been an interesting to have a brown skin black girl with blonde hair. It would have been a nice visual way to show her feeling like an outsider. The movie Grover felt like someone who could pass as a teenager, but could also be a protector. Don’t get me wrong, I like tv Grover, he feels more like a companion, which I love. The AI got Clarisse right. I wish they could put the TV character head on the AI body. She would be perfect. (Not because the TV character is unattractive, because her acting is perfect!!!) Juniper is PERFECT!!! Just for fun. Do Thalia again, but this time write “thick black eyeliner.” Make eyeliner one word. I can say, the AI made Thalia look exactly the way most movie studios would cast her. Hazel’s eyes weren’t “gold” enough for me. They should have been like the color of her hair. You have to remember these are teens. So Jason is very accurate. If you do it again make him 21 and I bet he will look closer to what you imagine. I want you to do mom and stepdad. Percy’s mom is my favorite character (probably because I’m a mom). I’m just curious what the AI thinks.
i did sth similar with ai after watching the live action and i felt like the biggest disappointment people had wasnt the race swap but the fact that the biggest visual trademarks that people used for visualizing annabeth were missing (blonde hair, grey eyes) so i just looked for a poc/black girl with blonde hair and grey eyes on google and my lord it makes all the difference and immediately gives Annabeth.. kinda sad that they didnt go for it (same with lukes hair color e.g.) bc 1) it was obvious people were gonna freak out and racists would jump on the opportunity and 2) its not a big deal to do these things and it means a lot to fans who get to see sth on screen the exact way they had imagined it for so many years
Honestly, while I do think the Disney series is a better adaptation than the movies I was still disappointed in it. There's just changes to the plot I don't really understand-and certainly don't improve the story so I'm kinda just confused on why those changes to the story were made. One particular change is how Gabe is presented. He's much more of a wimp in the series, and that makes his ultimate fate not feel nearly as deserved as the original. The casting was just okay for me. I think they all did great jobs but none of the actors in the show clicked for me. I don't think any of them were bad, but none of them really felt like they were the character. I don't know if that makes sense, but I always just felt like I was watching good acting, and never like "wow, that is actually (character)." As for how they look, I prefer them to look mostly like described, but small changes that can't be helped are fine. But the show is still good, and the acting is pretty good so it usually doesn't distract me, but some things are important to get right regardless. Like Clarisse being so large and physically strong is a big part in how she's so easily able to beat Percy at the wrestling training and get him into the bathroom to dunk his head in the toilet.
Frank Zhang is the character that learns he has a lot going for him that he doesn't realize how much of a somebody he is, sort of what Percy Jackson learns; but, at least Zhang didn't have to live in an especially toxic household with a mean step-father; if Frank Zhang had gone to the same schools as Percy, they wouldn't have to deal feeling that they were alone in their awkwardness and Zhang would've still eventually met Tyson much sooner if Zhang was not a Camp Jupiter kid, he could've had a lot to learn from that friendly Cyclops. Our hearts just goes out to Frank Z; Hazel, is one of my favorite characters, a sweet awesome girl whose one shortcoming is her cursed powers as the result of her mother's greed.
27:04 THAT FRINGE ON HADES THO 🤣 I also just wanted to mention, that as someone else with adhd, you shouldn’t be too hard on yourself, I find your tangents awesome. Love the content and Keep up the good work ❤️❤️
Any aesthetic differences between the books and the show I chalk up to being a “different timeline”, meaning that it’s the same story, but with minor changes and moved up in time about a decade. Sort of like how Movie Flame has said he considers the HP movies as a separate timeline from the books for the same reasons
They are demigods lol (and the first series is straight from Percy’s POV so there is his bias when it comes to descriptions). I kinda like the idea that godly blood kinda just gives you natural “good looks” (relative speaking) in the books.
@@giovanmorabonilla6400i mean, they can be not good looking by gods/demigods standard; the Maenads - Dionysus’ crazy girls, some Narcissus’ stans said that Leo is cute so… (and the first series was written from Percy’s POV, a kinda unreliable narrator, the only female demigod whose appearance was praised by him is Annabeth)
Hi! I love ur content and I’m so glad that there’s a new PJO video but I think you forgot Piper or something. I love how they turned out I especially loved Nico and Calipso.
10:59 gotta give it up for Calypso. She gets the narrator of the first books series himself (Percy Jackson) to call her more beautiful than Aphrodite herself (and Aphrodite first appearance almost made Percy forget who he was just by looks alone)!
I can understand why Clarisse's looked a bit older. Her description was built like a rugby player. And typically when teenagers have muscle it can sometimes age them in the face a bit. I do think it's a little to old. Like the ai photo looked like in her later 20s earlier 30s.
I always love your videos! If you don’t mind can I suggest you make a video about the character counterparts of the Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and Hunger Games series sometime in the future?
They really don't. Walker waited 8 episodes to act a little bit like Percy and Leah didn't strategize or act like Annabeth in any second of that series
I would love a part 2 including Piper, Sally, Chiron, Dionysus, Reyna and Will if possible! (I'm sorry if I forgot one or misspelled a name, it's been 3 years since I read the series)
I have started reading Percy Jackson last year and this year Heroes of Olympus and I absolutely enjoy it and I would love to see more videos about the life of of Percy Jackson characters
In my personal opinion, as a fan of the Percy Jackson books and characters, I just want my favorite series to be accurate as close as possible when it comes to adapting on film or TV series. If the books has or says any description about the characters looks, skin color etc etc than I feel the creative team should find actors who looks like the characters as close as possible. I get what Rick Riordan was saying that "anybody can be hero" and stuff. However, when your books has established the characters appearance than you should be very aware that fans want to see their favorite characters to be as accurate as possible from both the books and their imagination. But overall the Percy Jackson TV series is still much better than those awful Percy Jackson movies though. Mainly because the TV series followed the book's storyline as close as possible. Which is why I'm looking forward to both The Sea of Monsters and The Titan's Curse (my personal favorite book in the series).
I'd argue that personality is much more important than looks. I'd much rather have an annabeth who acts like annabeth and is portrayed by an excellent actress who clearly really gets the character over an annabeth played by an actress who looks like annabeth but doesn't act nearly as well as the one we got
@@apersonwhomayormaynotexist9868 personality shouldn't matter at all as they're supposed to be doing their job which is acting like a totally different person, which essentially is what acting is all about. So no, they could've easily found actors that matched with the descriptions of their respective characters considering that it's produced by Disney
Morgan! First congratulations, man! You're going to be a great dad Secondly, if you do a Percy Jackson characters AI video part 2, I would really like to see Piper McLean. Piper and Sally let's see, piper, Sally, Quintus and Mrs o'leary!
I understand what you mean about not reading the characters right. Frank zhang was a huge shock for me 😂 I imagined him as a big guy (like strongest man body) but not the baby face and baby sumo description
I personally cannot imagine a character in real life from Percy Jackson I always imagine them as the official art or fanart. To me they just look better that way.
I have nothing against the actress who is playing anabeth but it makes me "mad" or annoyed that they didn't bother to do something as simple as making her blonde so to at least have some resemblance to the actaul character
Especially since the movies didn’t really make her blond either. She had like blond streaks in the second one but she wasn’t fully blond and the first one she wasn’t blond at all. When will Annabeth finally be blond? 😭
7:26 thank you for saying is. This is the main point of the casting. Bringing the spirit of the characters to life rather then trying to do exact one to one based solely on the description rather then the character themselves.
@@redlox2 wrong. The main point of casting in this case is to try to at least look like their respective characters as that’s one of the essential things about making a faithfully successful adaptation after all. It’s the actors’ job anyway to bring the spirit of the characters no matter their personality since that’s what acting is basically all about; it’s their job to act like completely different people.
Yup!! As a signed actress, casting varies HEAVILY director to director. In pjotv’s case, appearance was NOT a priority as it had nothing to do with their characters! Walker Scobell was Percy for his range, Leah Jeffreys was Annabeth for her dramatic elements, and Aryan Simhadri was grover for his humor. And that’s not even scraping the SURFACE, there’s chemistry, special abilities, and experience! Overall that outweighs ‘looks’ by a LARGE margin.
@@JAMIOO how on earth does appearance have nothing to do with the characters when the characters have CLEAR descriptions in the books? What this show did is a clear example of colorblind casting as NONE of the actors look like their respective characters even though they’re supposed to since that’s how you make a successful adaptation. The personality should not matter so much since it’s an actor’s job to literally act like a completely different person anyway
@majencia2003 Based on workability, personality can matter, thats why i state that it varies! I would like to restate that i am a professional actor so i have witnessed firsthand that some casters are fine with dealing with an ‘Amber Heard’ as long as they look the part. And personally i find that ‘blind’ casting is just as fine as ‘non-blind’. If Annabeth chase was written to be black or whatever else it wouldn’t have affected how the story progressed. I hope this explains and that i didn’t come off as too harsh!!!
@ that’s true. However in this case, personality doesn’t seriously matter. Look at the cast of Harry Potter; most of their personalities didn’t really match with their respective characters, yet the actors still nailed their roles. Changing the description of the character does change the course of the story overall. Simply because it doesn’t correlate with the reader’s imagination. The readers read that Annabeth has curly blond hair, tan skin, and grey eyes; hence they pictured her like that throughout the entire series as appearance is also a crucial part of the character. And then the tv series came around and now all of a sudden, they’re faced with a whole different “Annabeth”, the kind of Annabeth that they never read or saw in their heads at all; she’s unrecognizable. That’s why this is specifically called colorblind casting; the actors’ appearances don’t match with their characters’. It goes against readers’ imagination
When i was reading the books, i imagined them very much how a lot of fanart pictures them. And i also think the casting in the show has been so good leah savra jeffries deserves none of the hate she gets
Uh... I don't know what show you were watching, but it wasn't the Disney+ Percy Jackson show. While the characters appearances don't matter to the story (although Riordan saying he doesn't care if their hair colors are inaccurate after having written these descriptions down so many times is laughable), their personalities absolutely do. Unfortunately, Walker, Leah, and Aryan are NOT Percy, Annabeth, and Grover... at least, not while they are on camera. Behind the scenes, they absolutely embody their characters. It's just a shame that the writers and directors decided to give them very little to work with, opting instead to strip away their character traits in favor of making them generic and one-dimensional (while also somehow making them both too smart and too stupid to survive in their world; because they see through every single trap thrown at them, and yet still manage to fall for it every single time). Percy's sass is gone. His charisma is gone. Disney Percy is BORING. Every single character trait that makes him such a memorable protagonist has been either completely erased or so heavily diminished that they're barely perceptible. Are there glimpses of his book personality? Yes, but these moments are so few and far between that they might as well have not been present. And there's no disputing this because Riordan himself acknowledges that the writing screwed up with Percy, and it's something he said has to be fixed for the second season. The author agrees that the show supposed to be more accurate failed to deliver an accurate representation of Percy Jackson. Case closed. Annabeth probably get the worst treatment, sadly. She is just so bland and wooden. Worse still, her only emotion throughout the show is "annoyed," which makes me feel kinda icky because it gives me "angry black girl" vibes. Her qualities and her flaws that make her a compelling and strong female character? Nope, the show decided Annabeth doesn't need any of those. Let's must make her a moody, one-note, empty husk devoid of anything that made Annabeth likable. Her book milestones suffer because of this, as they come off as being completely unearned. Because one moment, she'll be annoyed with Percy, and then the next moment she's simping for him hard, and then the moment after that she's reverted back to square one. The only reason fans squee over these moments with her is because they're pulling context from the books. And the writers seemed like they were banking on this because they threw in just enough Percabeth moments to make fans forget Annabeth is supposed to be Wise Girl - not a rude girl boss who isn't allowed to make mistakes or be vulnerable, and who only exists to be Percy's girlfriend. This is NOT a good thing, and I hope Riordan acknowledges this grave mistake, as well, because Leah deserves better material than what she was given in Season 1. Grover is... there. I guess? The plot tends to forget he exists, Not always, but enough to be hilarious once you realize the number of way the writers found to write him out of certain scenes. Remember the scene with Procrustes? Percy and Annabeth do their demigod thing (or at least, the show's version of it - drop exposition and erase any kind of tension from the scene before going for the insta-kill). Only once Crusty is dead does Grover come into the scene, literally asking if the fight is over so that he can rejoin the show. And I'm sorry, but I had to pause the episode for 15 minutes because I couldn't stop laughing! It could not be clearer that the writers had no idea what they were doing with Grover's character. I mean, I guess he has some moments where he gets to be the comedic relief he was intended to be, and I do actually see Grover shining through there. But unfortunately, any time he's actually on screen, Grover's only role is to be Greek Mythology's version of a Pokédex. And that's just not fair to Aryan. So, yeah. Let's hope Riordan sits on the writers and forces them to write the characters correctly for Season 2.
The truth is the movie was waaaaaaay more accurate to how the characters look than the disney series even to the point that Alexandra was forced to dye her hair blonde. When it comes to acting both groups gave 💯 only that the movies got bad direction and evil writers.
Agree. Also the movies were enjoyable, even though they were a bad adaptation because the story and characters made sense. My family didn't kmow anything about the franchise and they like both movies. But the TV series has so many things that make it unenjoyable. Some characters don't make sense (like a Demigod being black, which makes no sense, given they are all half greek) and the CGI is so bad compared to some much older movies/TV series and all newer (non-Disney live action movies/series).
Honestly Rachel is the only charachter i want to be book accurate considering we havent got one at all. Also her initals are literally R.E.D. so please atleast give her red hair. 🙏
I just started rereading the series a few weeks ago. I loved it as a kid and read it many times. But I hadn’t read it in a while. I’ve barely been able to put it down!! Oh my gosh! I forgot how good it is! And Percy is SO HILARIOUS 😂 I forgot how truly funny he is. So perfect timing for this video!
What i love about the casting for the show is the fact that most actors don’t look like the book version but they completely understand and capture that character’s personality and leah does that perfectly cos although she may not look like annabeth, she instead understands annabeth’s character and does it so well so thats why i love the show cos i would rather have actors who behaves like their role then have actors who looks identical to their characters but can’t understand that particular character
I always find it funny that Percy in the show looks like Will Solace in the books, which will be ironic when Nico tells Percy he isnt his type (I know he meant personality wise, but still).
I remember buying "The Ultimate Guide" years ago, and I had memorized a lot of their faces. Obviously Disney wants their own take, but I do keep comparing the actors to the illustrations of the characters.
When I read Percy Jackson, I mostly resorted to imagining the descriptions listed, I did envision a couple of movie depictions mainly Percy, Luke, and Chiron but it was hard to envision not only what they looked like but what they sounded like I found it hard to imagine different voices for everyone. I also intend to watch the show at some point if I can access it but I personally don’t mind the diversity casting as long as they act like the characters, though I found the casting for Annabeth interesting, I don’t mind that they made her black I just find it interesting because Annabeth’s blonde hair is one of her defining features specifically to defy the stereotype because she is the daughter of Athena and we all know what the blonde stereotype is.
i kinda dont imagine charicters like they look in the book like i was reading percy jackson and the whole time i hade made the discission that clarisse was a red head and i stuck with that all through the books but i LOVE who they casted as clarisse in the show dior is so hot and perfect for the role all of them are!
Well made video Morgan. Please do some more characters from the series. When I pictured Luke the actor who played him in the movies was pretty close to what I imagined. So far I didn't like the first season of the show. I hope they will improve it in season 2. Now I don't mind accepting Leah as Annabeth but it's of course not even close. Also the personality doesn't feel to me like yes this is so perfect (Annabeth is my favorite character in the books). The AI of Hades reminded me of Severus Snape a bit (Which is my favorite character in the HP franchise). Also I saw your poll Morgan about you and your wife having a baby on the way. Congrats my man I wish you all the best. I love you as content creator although sometimes I have disagreements with you.
There's another adaptation, if you're interested to check it out. It's The Lightning Thief Musical, which it no only has banger songs, it's in my opinion the best adaptation
When they were in Kansas and him and Percy were trying to summon their horses Piper said he was taller than Percy so she felt Percy was a little underwhelming
And this is one of the reasons I really didn't like the Percy Jackson TV show, they could have at least found actors that looked like they were described in the books. It may not matter to some, but to me, if a character don't look like they are supposed to, it takes the enjoyment away from me. I felt like I was watching a completely different show inspired by Percy Jackson. It was horrible. BTW: What program are you using? I'd like to try it.
To each their own but the fact the creator of the books themselves is picking and interviewing the kids to play the roles is good enough for me. I think he went for the “spirit of the characters” more than trying to find one to one child actors. Plus real life is different then books so I can get past the differences
I always pictured the aviators jacket to be brown because i remember it saying leather. I do like how it was black in the image, makes more sense with the "all black outfit"
I can't really imagine book characters as real people. I always imagine them as 2d or animated characters. Specifically the official art

I feel like the casting for Poseidon in the show was super good. The only difference was hair color. Also they are always describing Percy as looking like him, and he and Walker look very similar.
So what you’re saying is Ryan Reynolds should have been Poseidon.
@@yanyanzhang5813 lol I actually think Toby Stephens looks similar to Walker as well.
Not really.. Walker has blue eyes and blonde curly hair, Percy has sea green eyes and messy (NOT CURLY) black hair while the personality’s are the same it can be hard for people to see him as Percy due to the differences in looks. I think a animated version would been much better

Snow White hair color does not matter. It is her skin tone because because she is pale like snow.
@@paulodelima5705 Her skin dose not matter either. It never says it is white. It says she is white which could refere to her heart.
Now, there are examples of race swapped characters I’ve enjoyed, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon to name some recent examples; but just because they cast these characters with black actors doesn’t mean I would’ve liked these characters any less had these actors not been cast in those roles.
My final point being that studios should want diversity, but should bring us that diversity through the projects they make, not by artificially inserting diversity where there was none to begin with; but that’s just my take 🤷🏾♂️
Bless you if you read all of this 👌🏾😂
Piper, Reyna, Will, Apollo?
Meg? Bianca? Tyson?

Thanks for this comment
Dude, Hades just looks like Emo Henry Cavill
Yeah, with a WIG🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
6:30 looks like the AI threw the “teenage girl” prompt out the window, lol.
hi Morgan,
i've been watching your videos since before covid and i never get tired of them.
your a huge inspiration to me and you got me into Harry potter! every time you post, my day gets better.
keep up the amazing work and congrats on being a soon to be dad! you and Cara are going to be amazing parents!

😭😭😭😭 rest in peace laptop you shall be missed
Lol i too was like that lucky i didn't have anything in my mouth 🫣
LMAO
If that is Calypso I would stay on a island for her.
Percy looks like a perfect combination of the two
I wish they had given Leah Jeffries blonde braids.
(Not because the TV character is unattractive, because her acting is perfect!!!)
Juniper is PERFECT!!!
I’m just curious what the AI thinks.
after all the hate leah received after being cast. i hope she doesn’t give y’all blonde braids!
@@immaan3 fr she shouldn't fold like the actress for the pjo movies who got hate for her brown hair then dyed it blonde
i did sth similar with ai after watching the live action and i felt like the biggest disappointment people had wasnt the race swap but the fact that the biggest visual trademarks that people used for visualizing annabeth were missing (blonde hair, grey eyes) so i just looked for a poc/black girl with blonde hair and grey eyes on google and my lord it makes all the difference and immediately gives Annabeth.. kinda sad that they didnt go for it (same with lukes hair color e.g.) bc 1) it was obvious people were gonna freak out and racists would jump on the opportunity and 2) its not a big deal to do these things and it means a lot to fans who get to see sth on screen the exact way they had imagined it for so many years
The AI picture of Nico reaally reminded me of Snape, Nico is basically little Snape to some extent😭
I think hades 100% reminded me of snape
@Chocchiccookie Oh my gosh truue, I didn't think of that!
The musical continues to be the most faithful adaptation
Honestly, while I do think the Disney series is a better adaptation than the movies I was still disappointed in it. There's just changes to the plot I don't really understand-and certainly don't improve the story so I'm kinda just confused on why those changes to the story were made. One particular change is how Gabe is presented. He's much more of a wimp in the series, and that makes his ultimate fate not feel nearly as deserved as the original.
The casting was just okay for me. I think they all did great jobs but none of the actors in the show clicked for me. I don't think any of them were bad, but none of them really felt like they were the character. I don't know if that makes sense, but I always just felt like I was watching good acting, and never like "wow, that is actually (character)."
As for how they look, I prefer them to look mostly like described, but small changes that can't be helped are fine.
This is what I've been waiting for
Thank you for the upload
10:10 i have always imagined messy and curly hair since nico is Italian
18:02 Frank is giving me vibes of Minho from Maze Runner
Wait- hollup why is this so true?!
@That_randomSwiftie right?!
he always gave for me

27:04 THAT FRINGE ON HADES THO 🤣
I also just wanted to mention, that as someone else with adhd, you shouldn’t be too hard on yourself, I find your tangents awesome.
I feel like either "attractive", "handsome" or "pretty" appear in almost every description...
They are demigods lol (and the first series is straight from Percy’s POV so there is his bias when it comes to descriptions). I kinda like the idea that godly blood kinda just gives you natural “good looks” (relative speaking) in the books.
@@redlox2 isn't the description of the hephastus cabin in book two to be "not good looking" because they are hephastus' kids?
@@giovanmorabonilla6400i mean, they can be not good looking by gods/demigods standard; the Maenads - Dionysus’ crazy girls, some Narcissus’ stans said that Leo is cute so…
(and the first series was written from Percy’s POV, a kinda unreliable narrator, the only female demigod whose appearance was praised by him is Annabeth)
Not him forgetting Piper 😭😭😭
AI forgot abt the punk part in Thalia 😭😭
Hi! I love ur content and I’m so glad that there’s a new PJO video but I think you forgot Piper or something. I love how they turned out I especially loved Nico and Calipso.
You should do a part 2 and include chiron, Mr D, Zoe nightshade, Sally Jackson, the stolls twins, the gods and titans!
10:59 gotta give it up for Calypso. She gets the narrator of the first books series himself (Percy Jackson) to call her more beautiful than Aphrodite herself (and Aphrodite first appearance almost made Percy forget who he was just by looks alone)!
Jake Abel as Luke was pretty accurate to that description, minus the scar. Which the AI version didn’t have either
Tbh I see the fan art of these characters as what they would look like expecially percy
I love this video, it's so fun to see how the characters would actually look based on the description and I'm so glad you included frank's glow up 😂
I have blue eyes myself and I never heard the phrase electric blue eyes as an description 😂
The crazy thing about Luke Castelen is the audiobooks make him sound like a surfer but he’s from Connecticut.
If it took Morgan this long to upload a Percy Jackson episode, then he was definitely on Long Island.
This may be too controversial but I'm not a fan of characters not looking how they do in books on the big screen.
I can understand why Clarisse's looked a bit older. Her description was built like a rugby player. And typically when teenagers have muscle it can sometimes age them in the face a bit. I do think it's a little to old. Like the ai photo looked like in her later 20s earlier 30s.
27:07 Hades looks almost exactly like Snape 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 so trueeee!
I always love your videos!
If you don’t mind can I suggest you make a video about the character counterparts of the Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and Hunger Games series sometime in the future?
hunger games mentioned
The AI Zeus looks like Keanu Reeves as John Wick.
imagine if they tried to do 2D animation with characters describe exactly what the book said that wld be perfect
Fun fact: Rachel Elizabeth Dare’s name spells out red! i was just re reading the 4th book and i realized that!
Funny how both Walker and Leah act so like their characters. It’ll be interesting to see how the Titans curse plays out with those two.
Its November so merry Christmas cuz we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving where I live 😭
Ahh I love the Percy Jackson show and books so much!! I can't wait for the second season of the Percy Jackson show!!
I have started reading Percy Jackson last year and this year Heroes of Olympus and I absolutely enjoy it and I would love to see more videos about the life of of Percy Jackson characters
Go for trials of Apollo and Magnu too! my favs
And Kane chronicles!!!
Can you make a video where you show what Percy Jackson characters would see in the mirror of erised?
@apersonwhomayormaynotexist9868 I respect that. I personally like to have both though.
@@apersonwhomayormaynotexist9868 But the show Annabeth acts nothing like book Annabeth, so what you say does not apply here 😅
The way you had the pictures of the two adaptations of Annabeth up while describing her appearance I just thought of a skin tone gradient.
Always love another percy jackson video
You should do percy jackson characters from tallest to shortest like you did with Harry Potter.😅
Morgan! First congratulations, man! You're going to be a great dad
Secondly, if you do a Percy Jackson characters AI video part 2, I would really like to see Piper McLean. Piper and Sally let's see, piper, Sally, Quintus and Mrs o'leary!
I always pictured Zeus with longer hair
would love a video on the order that the books should be read in i always get confused and it would be super helpful
When I read books i imagined them as movie cast ( I think they match well)
I haven’t finished pjo yet and I saw calypso I said “ who tf is that
I understand what you mean about not reading the characters right. Frank zhang was a huge shock for me 😂 I imagined him as a big guy (like strongest man body) but not the baby face and baby sumo description
I personally cannot imagine a character in real life from Percy Jackson I always imagine them as the official art or fanart. To me they just look better that way.
What about Piper? Where is Piper?
It's always a good day when Morgan drops a new video!!
26:53 Does anyone else think that Hades looks a bit like Richmond from 'The IT Crowd', if it wasn't a comedy?
@@valeriebreidenstein8362
Wasn’t there black characters in the original books despite them also being Greek?
Honestly Rachel is the only charachter i want to be book accurate considering we havent got one at all. Also her initals are literally R.E.D. so please atleast give her red hair. 🙏
I just started rereading the series a few weeks ago. I loved it as a kid and read it many times. But I hadn’t read it in a while. I’ve barely been able to put it down!! Oh my gosh! I forgot how good it is! And Percy is SO HILARIOUS 😂 I forgot how truly funny he is. So perfect timing for this video!
Could you maybe do Marvel characters or Star Wars characters with this? These are honestly so enjoyable :)
20:24 yeah for a min bc I’m TOA it says “franks weight caught up to him, he was big girthy and looked like a sumu wrestler”
8:48 WDYM HE WAS A TEENAGE BOY??? IN THE THIRD BOOK WASN'T HE LIKE 8???
He was 10
But still
24:35 thats giving me more of a hades vibe but still prrty good
I always find it funny that Percy in the show looks like Will Solace in the books, which will be ironic when Nico tells Percy he isnt his type (I know he meant personality wise, but still).
Please you should continue reviewing new series and films of the topics you cover, for eg., MCU, DC, Star Wars, etc.
I also intend to watch the show at some point if I can access it but I personally don’t mind the diversity casting as long as they act like the characters, though I found the casting for Annabeth interesting, I don’t mind that they made her black I just find it interesting because Annabeth’s blonde hair is one of her defining features specifically to defy the stereotype because she is the daughter of Athena and we all know what the blonde stereotype is.
i was disappointed to see the cast how I didn’t imagine but they are amazing too!
i kinda dont imagine charicters like they look in the book like i was reading percy jackson and the whole time i hade made the discission that clarisse was a red head and i stuck with that all through the books but i LOVE who they casted as clarisse in the show dior is so hot and perfect for the role all of them are!
Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things also they should cast me as Leo Valdez 😂😂😂
No Piper McLean?
no 😔😔
I hate it here!
It's The Lightning Thief Musical, which it no only has banger songs, it's in my opinion the best adaptation
...excuse you! Where have you lost Reyna?!
You should do a comparison video of all theses characters when they are “all grown up” as it would show their growth in character
I absolutely love that video!!! ❤ Can you please do Will Solace for the next one 🙏
20:57 I didn’t know that he was ever described as being taller and more fit than Percy but that’s hilarious
When they were in Kansas and him and Percy were trying to summon their horses Piper said he was taller than Percy so she felt Percy was a little underwhelming
Ahhh you finally uploaded a PJO vid.
It’s been so long.
Thanks😃
17:24 All of that description definitely came from Leos perspective 💀💀💀😂😂😂
And this is one of the reasons I really didn't like the Percy Jackson TV show, they could have at least found actors that looked like they were described in the books. It may not matter to some, but to me, if a character don't look like they are supposed to, it takes the enjoyment away from me. I felt like I was watching a completely different show inspired by Percy Jackson. It was horrible.
BTW: What program are you using? I'd like to try it.
Finding people who look like the book characters, who can act, and are willing to stay in the role for years is hard to find.
To each their own but the fact the creator of the books themselves is picking and interviewing the kids to play the roles is good enough for me. I think he went for the “spirit of the characters” more than trying to find one to one child actors. Plus real life is different then books so I can get past the differences
For real. Which is why it's a sign that Riordan himself is falling apart and is on his way to ruining his own franchise
@@gtd5626 If Warner Bros. could do it for Harry Potter, then Disney could've easily done the same with Percy Jackson.
@majencia2003 I said it's hard to do. And for Harry Potter, the characters also weren't accurate.
I always pictured the aviators jacket to be brown because i remember it saying leather. I do like how it was black in the image, makes more sense with the "all black outfit"
