Thank you for this video. I couldn't find any guides on how to remove the pressure sensor plug connector. I was afraid i would ruin the whole connector if i pulled to hard. Now with your video i have an understanding on how the connector is connected.
Thanks for this video on how to unplug the glow plug especially. 😊 Trouble with modern cars is there are so many different plugs and connectors , and it's not obvious how most of them unplug. Thanks for showing us inside the glow plug too , I wondered how they worked 😊👍👍👍
Apologies, I should have said. Get a multi meter and put it on the OHM’s setting. Then put the black lead on to battery negative or any clean steel part of the engine. The red multimeter check for a contact through the heater plug and back to the engine or battery negative. Does that make sense??
Hi Scott, this type of glow plug with integrated pressure sensor can be tested with the block connector disconnected. Your multimeter goes from battery negative to the center pin on the glow plug. Put your meter on ohms & it shouldn’t read anymore than 1 ohms. I show it at 7 minutes 24 seconds 🙏🙏👍
Your video is great, I have this problem, I changed the spark plug 3 and I still have the same fault p0673, could it be the wiring? or could it be the relay? What do you recommend?
From what I’ve been told the Bosch ECU doesn’t like cheap spurious glow plugs being fitted, it’s got to be a OEM VAG or BENU 007 anything else can lead to problems. GSF Motor factors want £220 for a new one !!
Great video. I have the same issue where cylinder 3 glow plug pressure sensor is low. I have fitted the new glow plug with the pressure sensor however EPC light still shows on the dash and still has the same code. Could this be a damaged connector which sits on top? What would be the best course of action? Thank you :)
Hi. No it’s P03AE low pressure sensor in cylinder 3. I’ve checked the wiring and it’s all good. The new glow plug was bought from Amazon for half the price vw was charging, apparently getting it from Vw would fix it I’ve been told because they have the correct revision for the car whereas Amazon has the older revision, any thoughts? Thanks
@@10casem you could very well be right, generally I find that cheaper aftermarket electronics parts are just not up to doing what they are meant to. Unfortunately the good quality parts can very expensive though 😬😬👍
Just to follow on, issue was sorted just needed a genuine glow plug pressure sensor in cylinder 3. Previous mechanic failed to notice that my car needed this and so did Volkswagen themselves!
I also like the test light method, it is a very good and fast test. But some sometimes they can get a greater resistance inside them that can be enough to light the test light but still no glow. On this occasion I was really only educating myself on where to test the glow plug and pressure sensor combined. I find you tube a great source of education for this 🤔👍😉 Thanks for commenting
@@kennedysgarage3281 yes very true the test light could catch you out on this one. I have seen this system on the Opel insignia. I suppose if you break it down to two circuit's, glow plug and pressure sensor 3 wire. Nice break down.
Quite a lot of people are buying less expensive glow plugs with integrated pressure sensor from online stores which are not good quality. Is the one you got OE ??

I had the same thoughts hence the video, but I’m glad it helped on this occasion. Good luck when doing it 🙏👍

Well I genuinely didn't know about those pressure sensor glowplug and I own one of those cars. Thank you
You are welcome 🙏
Where do you put the black multi meter wire when testing the plugs

Hi so I take it to test the sensor you put on the outside part??

Nice video. I always find using a test light from battery + a better test. What do you think. Ohm's for the win on this one.
