Tim, I watched your new video on not pumping water. My 15hp did the same. You fill the barrel above the very top plate above the cavitation plate and it does fine.
Yeah i just went through that myself today. Lol i figured it was something i was doing cause it has been a great reliable motor. Just needs more to drink i reckon. Lol thanks for the comment!!!
@@timhuggins9366 I finally launched and took a ride with mine on a 15' fiberglass skiff. I was impressed that it planed at half throttle with me buddy and I both over 200 lbs and gear in the boat.
have been searching the web and I cannot find any 12 HP Hangkai except a damaged one on Ebay. I am not seeing on Amazon. I think I did see one other place where they were asking 1800. But they do not seem be very plentiful unless I do not know where to look. I did see them for sale on AliExpress. My wife and I have bought many things from there, but I am a little hesitant about plopping down $1000 for a boat motor from there. Anyways, if you know of any other place that might have them let me know.
Runnin great! Im about 6 hrs in on the break in oil gas mix at 25 to 1 for first 10 hours i didnt see any vids on the 12 thats why i posted so im glad ya found it! Thanks for the comment more videos to come!!!
Its kinda funny how people bash these engines and some praise em. I myself won't buy a name brand engine and I only need to get from point A to point B and back again.. Back in the early 70's, I bought a sears 3.5 outboard for $125 closeout. Best money I ever spent on fishin. I gave it away 15 years later and coulda kicked myself in the ass for doing it. I thought the guy would take care of it, NOPE, he left it outside uncovered and after awhile it locked..
Dont have exact numbers i can tell ya i filled the 6 gallon tank almost 2 years ago and just changed it out for fresh fuel. Drumped out about 3 gallons hasnt burnt much fuel at all i have about 30 or so hours on it
The manual said 10 hours idle for first 10 min then no more than 1/2 throttle for 5 hours with variable rpm, after 5 hours no more than 3/4 throttle again variable rpm untill 10 hours then run as normal. I used a 30:1 mix for break in just to be sure everything lubricated well then backed of to 40:1 book says 50:1 for normal mix after break in but i do 40:1 just to be safe. Thanks for the comment!!!
That’s what it was. I started looking down there. There was a nut like thing knocked off its sleeve. Probably happened when i transported it sideways. Thanks
Nope just had to change the plugs due to the heavy oil mic during break-in period. Still runnin great hopefully can get out this week and put up another video. Thanks for the comment!!!
Yes!! Had some medical issues this year so didnt get out to make videos like i wanted i am looking forward to spring this year for updates on the motor.

More updates! That's nice to see that some one actually know how to take care of a engine that many people think is crap

Try AliExpress, I paid $1456.00 for my 15hp Hangkai and shipping included.
Hangkai is our cheapest engine. Its 2T18hp costs only 580USD
Finally a vid on a hangkai 12 please please post more vids of it during this summer season! How’s it held up so far ?

Yes i have seen their video i watched it several times before purchasing the Hangkai motor was the only 12hp video out there i could find.
@@timhuggins9366 I know this is a completely different engine than a 12 but would you recommend a 6.5 hangkai ?
Yes i would there are a lot of videos on the 6.5 2 stroke they also have a 6hp 4 stroke as well.
If I can pull it off, I will put up a video of my 15hp when I launch.
That would be great! Thanks for the comment!!!
I'm thinking about buying 12hp hangkai outboard but how to get parts for outboard and will it interchange with American outboards parts?
I read that it is a copy of a tohatsu brand motor and as such the parts are interchangeable.

That's a short shaft right it doesn't say on ebay
Yes its actually 17 inch its between a short and a long short being 15 and long being 20. Thanks for the comment!!!
How is the fuel consumption?

How much does the outboard weigh?
I think its about 70 lbs. Not super heavy mostly aluminum
How long was the break in period ?

I bought the 12 hp hangkai. It is stuck in reverse out of the box. Any ideas. Some people talk about a free accel lever. Dont know where that is
Mine did that once the rod that runs down the neck on the motor from the shifter got stuck. Check to see if that binding up on ya.

Why u going so slow
Break in instructions advises run 1/2 to 3/4 throttle for first 10-15 hours.
How many hours should it be broken in? I just ordered mine.
