14:40 You are talking about the Scots Language. Which is only "related" to English not the same language. It's like comparing Dutch to German. If you go to Scotland and don't know any Scots you will have difficulty understanding people. Even when they speak English they will use Scots pronunciation, some Scots words and use words similar to both languages with only the Scots definition. Which means even when the Scots speak English you will miss words or misunderstand the meaning of the sentence.
thanks for this very informative video. id like to ask if theres a chance to work as a teacher in scotland? if meron, what could be the processes? next yr , my fiance and i might live in scotland to work.
Thanks for visiting. We need teacher here in Scotland. As far as I know you need an employer to sponsor your work visa. Try indeed.co.uk hope this helps.
Nice one Maria!, u explained a "wee" bit of our culture and history! Accept our culture and our history, and that will help you to the ultimate journey of success! .....Try 1746, The last land battle EVER on UK soil, we McDonalds fought on the wrong side, re our side was, Bonnie Prince Charlie (The Campbells v McDonald's/Stuarts).. Try a test..... Stewart V Stuart? and Campbell V MCDonald? lol
Are u a student and wants to live in Scotland. One tip be ready with scottish weather and people here are nice you can easily get along. At first thick scottish accent might very hard for you but eventually you will pick up
Well then weather is not a problem. Scottish uni is one of the best and hope you will enjoy here and visit scottish highlands they are magnificent. Also try scottish cuisine
Sorry Maria, the Uni is not free in Scotland regardless of your residential status, it’s a student loan that you have to pay it back once you start working. The young people in Scotland is in debt already before the even turn into adulthood. Nothing is free in this country it’s coming out from our wages . Whereabouts are you in UK? Good luck on your blogs and keep it up.
In Scotland students are free in tuition fee as long as you are a resident here (3 years) of course you can get a student loan and paid when you have work and earning £25k per annum. Unlike in England you will pay £9k for tuition fee. So you maybe free in tuition fee in Scotland but still you need to pay your lodging/food and other school fees. Thanks for dropping by and I am near Inverness
@@MariaSimpsonUK sorry Maria I live in Scotland my son is at the Uni, it isn’t free. Even the water that we flush our dirt is not free is coming out from our council tax so nothing is free.
@@jeanniejohnston5066 She might have mentioned that university is “free”, but she is more than aware that it comes from our taxes. At the start of the video she mentioned that the NHS comes out of our taxes, which is a refreshing difference to the usual “NHS is free” type of nonsense. So based on that initial comment it is obvious she is aware that University isn’t free either even though she may have used those words. I think you’ll agree that it is still very different to being charged £9,000 per annum in other parts of the U.K. So we might have to pay for it in increased taxes in the long run but at least it hampers Scottish students with less debt early in their working lives.

By the way you aren’t paying for the water as such but the infrastructure needed to deliver it and its treatment.
There are no fees for Scottish residents at University
Exciting content. Anu nga ba?
It’s a truly grim place.
