Bob, you really outshined yourself today. An amazing fishing event you've zeroed down on those black fish and showed us how to manipulate and catch them using different scenarios. Keep the videos coming you are the man.🎣😎
Those Blackfish look very similar to the Wrasse we have in the UK. Such strong fish for their size and those teeth are used to wrench limpets off the rocks in the inter tidal zone. Great fish to catch on soft plastic worms.

Thanks for sharing Bob! Great video of continuous catch after catch. Good to see a video from the city. This is something a lot of folks would be able to recreate. Would you consider adding date stamps to your video title (not sure how that helps or hurts with TH-cam algorithm). Also, if it's not too much to ask, maybe adding the temp info at the start of the video might help with future trends of catching around same time or temp. Just suggestions on few extra stuff others don't provide to help boost the channel.

Any tips on fishing in these windy times , I fish on Long Island and last 2 times i tried fishing the wind n waves were insane, I couldn’t even tell between bites n wind
I can help you. I tend to fish mostly windy conditions on exposed Beaches as they seem to be the most productive times for fishing. Use a grip lead as a weight, google breakaway grip lead. There's other varieties but it'll give you the picture what you need to look for. Next tip is to cast into the wind, as you cast the line will peel off in the direction of the wind but that doesn't matter. When tightening the line after the cast, move in the direction of the wind and the big loop of line will now be straight. There's no mistaking a fish bite for wind, the more you fish in these conditions the better you'll be able to pick out what's a fish and what's wind. 2 days ago I was fishing a 65mph left to right wind at an exposed beach and could still detect a bite from a 4 oz fish.
I don't personally. Some do. If you fish it often you'll see the oil/gas run off pretty heavily in some areas. Your braid/line will also get motor oil on it. Some areas are worse than others but it is tidal, so if a migratory fish is swimming through, but a visitor. Well that fish might be ok to eat, depending on how long it was in the river for. It is really up to you and how much you are willing to risk long term damage from the PCBs. Tautog are old fish and grow slow, so out of all the fish in NYC.
