      Rode an upsized 2019 with 140mm front/rear travel ( 50mm stroke rear shock not the new 55mm stroke ). Really appreciated the bike's trail-oriented ride quality! Seems to me that 55mm-stroke metric shocks feel more "enduro" ( less internal mass located on the bump stop which might act like a small piston ). The anti-squat is very-well managed with the 210x50 shock; surprisingly still retains that supple mid-stroke ride-quality too. Anyway, this YT was upgraded to the max and really truly performed like none-other. Same parts on a different bike and it's like where's the "life?" Truly believe the YT to be the "Build of Builds," just a matter of knowing your specific tune. Cheers!!!

      Le Jeffsy est une arme polyvalente! Chaque rider s'y retrouveras facilement. J'avais le modele Alu de 2016, et je suis passé sur le modele CF en 2019... aucun regret! Nombreux sont les "HAters YT" malheureusement pour eux ils ratent pas mal de GOOD TIMES #JEFFSYCF✔️

    I have had my 20 Jeffsy 29 comp for just over a month. I researched a lot before making the decision to buy direct. Was a little worried about not having a shop to help with maintenence, but a local shop will work on it without the hole direct to customer snub. I found it hard to beat with anything remotely in the price range. The bike is fantastic. Climbs in the mid setting amazingly and it flat out bombs any thing downhill. Just eats up any bumps, drops, rocks or anything in its way. Very pleased with the bike so far. Will see if it is durable and stands the test of time.

      Absolutely love this bike. Zero issues to date. It is still going strong. Probably due for a suspension service at this point, but no issues at all. So confident in this bike, has raised my riding level. It just wants to go fast over what ever is in my way. I just pre-ordered the new YT Capra that should arrive early 2022. And I may just have to get the Izzo as well. I have 2 sons and it will be nice to have the YT quiver!

    Great reviews team! Always look forward to your bike of the reviews, I think yourself and loam wolf reviews seem to be the most honest👍
    I have the 2019 Jeffsy cf pro 29, so 140 front and back. I live in Queenstown NZ, so steep climbs and descents, got rid of the ethirteen tyres (rubbish!!!) pretty quick and spent a lot of time getting suspension dialled, two volumes spaces on the front and one in the rear seem to be the sweet spot for me, there is almost nothing this bike cannot do. am about to get forks serviced when we come out of lockdown and am going to lift the forks to 150mm travel. Best looking bike on the hill and amazing allrounder, could not be happier with my purchase after a year of riding.

    • @thewarr10r1
      @thewarr10r1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@danielbuchanan9651 I think I prefer the Jeffsy to the capra as it's a bit better going up but still rips on the downs... I deffo prefer the 29 inch wheels over 27.5 too and I've had loads of pr's on strava since owing the Jeffsy. Having said that, my capra was the 1st generation alloy version which my brother now owns. I've ridden the 2nd generation capra (current edition, 27.5) at a demo day at the forest of Dean before I bought the Jeffsy and while it did smash everything in it's way on the downs, I didn't think it was worth upgrading my capra for at the time. When yt released the new jeffsy I liked the spec, geometry etc. I was looking to buy a yeti sb150 but the Jeffsy made more sense to me. It's a wicked bit of kit and better value now imo, as they've changed the tyres to maxxis and the drivetrain to eagle. 👌🏻👍🏻

    @reniam 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Ha. The Jeffsy has been recategorized now as All Mountain; so I don't know how they're going to review it in the future. Anyway, excellent bike. Climbs much better than I expected; especially in the short, technical climbs here in New England. I was more of a XC race guy, but now at 50 I appreciate the extra suspension and returning to more of my BMX days launching off stuff. If you can afford it, buy the Pro Race. The weight savings will help on those climbs it got knocked on in this review.
    The two things I wish it did differently: 30-tooth chainring and 30mm, or 32mm wheels vs. 27mm.

    Own the 2019 Jeffsy CF Comp. Absolutely amazing bike. It clibs well (you need that climb switch on your shock, otherwise it bounces a bit too much), it decends extremly fun and capable. The only drawback are the e13 components. They are terrible.

      Does it flow down trails nicely and are you able to use small rocks etc. as a Kicker? Im really into a playful bike which can jump easily over small stuff.
      I don’t care for a bike which goes fast and smooth over rockgardens, but needs huge Kickers to get it in the air and is a pain to get uphill.
      Right now I’m looking into the new Santa Cruz 5010 which seems like it can do all the stuff I love, but it’s expensive as hell..
      Would be great if the izzo can do all this too, at a much lower price.

      @@michivanhalen7086 It's the most flickable bike I've had. meaning, I can pretty much move the rear end left right in high speed. I ride in Santa Cruz, CA. The trails are flowy but tend to be steep. It has ok climbing abilities, yet, that not the reasons I got the bike.
      I ride the 'base model' because I wanted an alloy frame (I'm disillusioned by carbon).
      I changed 80% of the stock components to ones I like better.
      Most notable change I made is replacing the original air shock (garbage) to a coil rear shock which I love!
      I also hated the original adjustable seatpost that comes with it.
      The bike is precise, I feel like it goes where I point it on steep terrain. It also feels balanced in the air (I'm not doing big jumps, but I do like to get air time)
      It's just feels like a great all around bike.

      @parker6711 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've demoed the Strive but not the Torque. I've done a fair amount of research on both and it really comes down to what you want to prioritize. I think the strive will be better at climbing and more of an all arounder. It climbed really well and descended very well. It is a bit playful but more a point and shoot bike. Those 29er wheels just like to roll over everything. I've talked to some guys who have the Torque and they say it climbs fairly well for such a big bike but is more geared to downhill and free ride. I think if you're looking to pop around, throw whips go with the torque. If you're going for a more enduro race bike that can still climb very well go with the Strive. I'm probably going to go with the strive myself as I do a lot of climbing and all mountain riding.

    • @ROSE-by5su
      @ROSE-by5su 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Parker im so sad i can only pick one bike and I prioritize all of that from freeriding,climbing,and racing does the strive can still survive those big jumps because im a big sender like i go full moto using my bike and im from XC and Roadbike so i still have the power and i have a mindset of a motocross rider where i go big torque was a good thing for me but i send a lot and strive was a great thing to meat but i dont know still if it can survive some jumps
      So do you think Strive can still be a playfull bike and does 29er can literally fit me im 5’6-5’6 and im still growing up like i can go 6ft if i grow up more and what size do you recommend in torque and strive if i will ride one

      To me the Strive is the perfect one bike quiver. It can do anything from all day rides to a day at the DH park. Yeah it may not be as poppy as the Torque but you can learn how to jump and whip on a 29er it just takes practice. If I had to choose one bike it would be the Strive.

    Could someone pls just answer this being honest im getting back into mtb and want to do enduro i know there is a enduro bike but could this be a decend enduro bike for a complete novice to that part or mtb

    • @williamgalloway4798
      @williamgalloway4798 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you're just getting into mtb, I'm assuming you're a novice. You don't want to go for a bike with loads of travel, you'll be overbiked and it'll feel like too much.
      The YT Jeffsey will be more than enough for years. A beginner will never be capable enough to push the limits of a Jeffsey.
      Tbh, you might want to go for something that's a bit less of an enduro bike and more of a trail bike than the Jeffsey. Something with about 130-140mm of travel will be a bit more beginner friendly, and will take a few years until you learn to ride the bike to it's capability.
      A hardtail is good for learning basic skills as you don't rely on rear suspension and learn to ride with technique, not relying on the bike to save you.
      Basically, whatever bike you choose, if you're a beginner, and you don't buy an awful Wal-Mart bike, you won't get held back by the bike, it'll be better than you. My advice would be to watch a some videos on how to get into mountain biking and make a decision from there.
      Don't back out tho, it's the best sport in the world.

    Jeffsy or Capra for playfulness?

  • @TheDoctor46vr
    @TheDoctor46vr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I usually like your reviews, your review on the Bossnut was one of the first I saw and I still have that bike.
    But I'm disappointed because your acting like lockouts don't exist. And you can also stiffen up the fork with the compression setting.
    So to me you can't give it a knock just because the shock tune is geared for downhill. Personally, I think it's lazy to kick up a fuss about leaning over a little bit to change the suspension settings on the fly, no time loss, no foul.

    You guys are way to picky, I own the 2019-2020 Jeffsy Cf Pro Race 29er XXL and you can’t get a better bike at both climbs or descents like the Jeffsy, I’ve tested many bikes even double the price of the Jeffsy, the bike is top notch in any scenarious, the E13 Carbon wheelset is impossible to damage or the cranks!!

    The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.
