    The ZAMA company says In their video you don’t have to buy any of that stuff, any good straight edge will do fine. Just put the straight edge completely across the top and check to see if it barely touches the top of the needle valve lever. That’s the setting you want end of story.

      In the ZAMA corporation video titled how to rebuild a ZAMA carburetor at the 10:28 mark he says
      “ANY STRAIGHT EDGE WILL DO “
      Which makes perfect sense, because all you’re trying to do is get the needle perfectly level in that tiny chamber works fine for me runs like a charm. And best of all it didn’t cost me a nickel to adjust.

      @@captaintruth3219 Any straight edge will do to span the base, then measure down from there, for your carb..

      Not all adjust like that. Several models do but not all. Some are recessed down quite a bit with Zama and Walbro.

    I have found many levers that were wrong from the factory with those tools. The less expensive trimmers is where I find that. Those tools are worth having for the price even if you only use them once because you have a better chance for success after your carb rebuild. They were a game changer for me years ago. Great video my man

    Ok, however, you mentioned that your metering lever is too high but the wyk stamp isn't in the middle of that tool. It's on the straight edge side. The middle is for wt, wa, and wat carbs.

    There’s another Walbro metering lever gauge. It looks like a W but it’s like the W is leaning. There’s a few Walbro carbs that use this other gauge.

    To be clear, no matter which Walbro carb model you are working on, you pretty much use the center of the Walbro W tool to set needle height movement.

    Suggest that if you are using AM kit, the button on the metering diaphragm may be a different length from the one removed.
    Have set to spec & reassembled to find either flooded or starved after a few seconds running.
    Some equipment replacement carbs are uneconomic OEM or not available AM, or just won't tune / settle correctly.
    Generally great advice for OEM refurb kit.

    • @thisisyourcaptainspeaking2259
      @thisisyourcaptainspeaking2259 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct, the length of the nub on the metering diaphragm that presses on the metering lever can vary. This is especially true in the case of off-brand diaphragms.
      Checking to be sure the metering needle is ever so slightly lifted off it's seat as the metering lever is fully depressed, usually works quite well.
