i also have an 11' 500 HO. Drowned it in the river twice, bury it in mud. Run it full throttle all the time. Oil is still as brown as the day i bought it. have about 1000 miles on it now. I was skeptical of polaris at first but its almost as reliable as a honda fourtrax.
I have a 2011 Honda Rubicon, 2500 miles on it! Very reliable and strong, I love it! Except for the solid axle! Might be picking up a Polaris 570 this weekend, good video! Thanks for sharing
Great comparison! Pretty excited about picking up a 2014 570 eps tomorrow! Last Polaris we owned was a 2001 500 H.O. Scrambler. Thanks for posting. Review to follow!
Great video, you covered alot of good points. I have 2 of these and am fixin to order a couple of the Guru front brush guards. I am getting close to the first service. They said do it at around 25hrs. It takes a little longer to get there than I first thought. Overall the 570 is great. Only major complaint is that on the lower right side you get a lot of heat coming thru that opening. I made the mistake of riding with shorts on and it blistered my leg just above the ankle (about 3 hrs). Will not make that mistake again. I have rode mine in some fairly extreme conditions and it functioned fine. I did find that coming downhill you get some pretty good engine braking by having it in awd and low range. Did not have to get on the brake much. I did install a modification that makes all 3 headlights burn on high beam. Overall, anyone looking to purchase a atv, I think you get the most bang for the buck with the 570. I think mine were like $5700 + tax each.
I am glad someone finally posted up a good video of a 2014 570. Not a lot of them out there. I am thinking about getting a 570 while they are offering rebates on them.
Nicely done. Good comparison. I just ordered a 2015 today. It'll be 3 weeks until it gets here. I could have a green one today but I really like the Indy Red.
One big difference is the battery placement on the new one.I just cant see how this can last.I've done the research, and found conclusively that down on the frame is not the place for a battery.Sticks,rocks,mud,ice,snow,etc...the old place they had the battery was almost as bad,but at least it was higher up. These are good running wheelers;the older models, were and still are,the best riding atvs. The new one,I don't know.We will see how they do.
Hey bud, thanks for answering all my questions.I bought one just like yours yesterday but mine is green and I didn't get the power steering. Slowly but surely I will be adding the accessories. Again great video and you have a great day. Bye.
I just got a Left over 2015 570, very nice machine, im overly impressed with it. it handles very well, plenty of power, goes thru alot and climbs over alot. Im on the stock carlise tires and go thru some decent mud with it. it climbs hills really well and is very stable. Be carful with the front cargo box. the hinges break very easy and the cover costs about $200 to replace. I replaced the plastic hinges when they broke with some stainless ones from home depot for $5. And if the heat from the exhaust is bothering you, order some heat wrap from amazon, i paid like $15 for a 2"x50' roll and it came with 15 metal ties. Now my right side plastics only see about 90° instead of well over 150-175.
thanks for this! Definitely going to fix up that exhaust heat issue on my 16' 570. That is absolutely terrible how much heat comes out of there. My old 400 Scrambler got a little warm on the right side but nothing like this 570 does.
stevey500 look up RVS performance for a ECM tune. The heat displacement is due to the EPA required tuning to meet emissions. These engines run extremely lean with very little timing to meet spec. RVS has multiple levels and keeps it way cooler but at a cost of more fuel consumption but they remove the torque limiting on the fuel map which makes it a lot faster. You'll like it, well worth the price
The battery on the 500 is better placed. And the seat on the 500 is better. Changes does not always make things better. But the power is really good on the 570. Great video.
I bought a 2016 570 in orange burst. I really like it other than its the noisiest clanky thing I ever rode. It pops and clanks like a model T Ford brand new. Polaris says it's all normal which I think is BS but now I just ignore it and ride. 22 hours so far and it hasn't flew apart yet
Ok buddy get a life, I've seen this comment on every review of a 570. If you really don't like the fact that it makes noise, trade it in for something else and SHUT UP!
Jesse Poorman i think it's the best quad you can get for the money. AWD system is the best in the industry, suspension is the smoothest factory made suspensions and the 570 offers plenty of power for any trail situations. Put on a good pair of tires and you're ready to go! Great quad, would recommend it to anyone.
Erik Desormiers I'm 37 I owned all kinds of brands and yes they all have broke something now and again. That's the name of the game when you off road. I always keep on the maintenance on my machines. But this will be my first polaris that I have ever purchased.
I got the newest one the Polaris Sportsman ETX 400 love it and it rides great with stock tires through some mud and drifts great does wheelies great has the upgraded rear suspension for heavy duty bumps and other things like that and a liquid cooled radiator. But nice ATVS!
Hey buddy, I just wanted to let ya know how happy I've been with my 2015 570 sage green sportsman. Because of your video is the reason why I bought a Polaris. I had pictures to share but for some reason I can't find them. Anyway buddy thank you for answering my questions in the pass. Take care bud, bye.
That's a great comparison video. Only thing I think you forgot to mention was the difference in the floor boards. The 570's are wider, longer, and they have a new lip on the edge to help keep your feet from sliding out. Oh yeah, they also have a larger stator with more watts to power more electrical accessories.
Thanks for the comment. Yes the floor boards are different. I was actually out this past weekend and they filled up with mud. Seemed like more than the 2011 did in the past. Will go out again soon and do a video on it. Thanks!!
I have a 2004 sportsman 500. They sure have changed! It hasn't given me one bit of trouble either. In a couple of days I'll be picking up a 2015 sportsman 850 sp. I can't wait!! Cool video!
Hey bro, gr8 video! I own a 2000 popo sportsman 500 and it has such a plush ride for a 14 yr old bike. It runs like a champ. I'm interested in getting the new 570 EFI. I dislike re-jetting and cleaning carbs, so EFI is a real plus IMO. I haven't taken new 570 for test ride but I plan to. Can't decide on 1 up or 2 up Touring model. Gr8 looking bike dude!
The engine is way more powerful then the 500 and I meant a lot , and as for the battary, I've had water well over the seat a few times, and no problems at all, although the first time I got it serviced they had to replace the 2$ vent hose for the battary. I wasn't a big fan of the lights, but a 80$ light bar off ebay solved that
Great comparison video first off, and the ss wheels are great looking, but i found that when you are riding through more debris filled swamps like i am, that sticks and rocks/mud will find a way into the lip between the wheel and the tire. Just giving you a heads up.
Thanks! Havent had that issue yet but I have hit some rocks and they have a few scrapes on them. I knew this would happen so I'm not to surprised. Thanks for the comment!
I just got a new 570 and love it has awesome power a great ride a big step up from my 08 foreman as far as ride and power, mine has been running great the only thing I don't really like is the drive train is kinda clunky sounding I don't know how to describe it, my buddy said that's the how the clutch is on the polaris machines it only seems to do it at low speeds or going down a hill, does yours do this as well? Thanks
Nice video man. I have the exact same bike as you. Red EFI Same hand guards too lol what is the exact tire size front and back of your big horns? i'm looking to get a set
Sweet four wheelers man. Both look good but the 14 looks a lot better IMO.. I have a rancher but been debating between a sportsman or a can am LXMR outlander. Nice video
Great video bud,I have a question for ya.Are the new wheels the same size as your factory wheels but maybe a little wider?Put it this way will the factory tires fit the new wheels if the wheels weren't as wide? Are they the same diameter as the factory ones?Sorry for so many questions bud.Thumbs up on your video.
Thanks for the thumbs up. The tires are 12 inch. Same as stock rims. They are taller (26inch) and 9 inches wide on the front and 11 on the rear. But you could mount them on the stock steel rims if ya wanted. Hope that helps.
Hi, like the video and the comparison. I have a burning question though. Did you have any issues with the battery location on the 570 so far? It seems like a strange place, especially if you are going in the water. Any info would be welcome. Also, did your bike suffer from some of the electrical gremlins that people are complaining about with Polaris?
Christian Raith sorry for the late response. Never had any issues. Seems like the battery location is ok for now. I have to admit I use the 500 more than the 570 though.
Any updates on the 570?? How do you like the new motor and increased power? I just bought one last week. But I'll have it parked until the spring. Had to take advantage of a great price. That's why I bought it now
I kept hearing you say that the 2015 sits a lot higher but your not taking in account the larger aftermarket wheel/tire package your new atv has. If you look at the tires overall height they're definitely a couple inches taller. Nice machine though. My dad has a 2012 Sportsman 500 and the thing I hate the most, we'll two things, one being the 2012s seat is too wide and feels stiff imo. Comparing it to my Arctic Cat 500 seat which is soft and narrower. Also I always hated how hard it is to start his Sportsman 500 especially when the atv is cold. Just takes forever doesnt like to idle cold and I know it's not just his. People I've talked to on the forums and trails also stated the same thing. Already cleaned the carb once thinking it could be the issue but it was pretty clean inside his. So the efi has to be really nice. It probably starts within seconds.
The seat on the 14 is way harder than the 11 or 12. When you sit on the wheeler you feel as though you sit higher (not because of the wheels) My only complaint on this new style. And yes the EFI engine is way better in starting and in power.
does one of these bikes ride better than the other? do you know if the suspentions are the same or similar? looking into getting a 4 wheeler for trail riding but my spine if fused and i need something that rides as smooth as possible.
1795magicmoney1795 the suspensions are the same, the sportsman sp's have a dual a-arm front suspension to match the dual a-arm on the rear. A few reviews say the sp's ride better but the sportsmans already have the best ride in the business.
If you like polaris sportsmans you should test ride a yamaha grizzly it's like your polaris but better that diff lock feature is the best thing and you won't need eps to drive it try the 550 but I would recommend the grizzly 700. Live life like no tomorrow and ride to your full potential.
I just received my self on of these rigs, and I was wondering how you got the trip and mileage to change on the screen there. I really hope you could help me wit this, thanks
No pull start on the 570.Low battery no start.Keep battery charged all the time or you will have trouble.Battery position sucks,Winch mounting is easy.
Jesse Poorman ... still runs as good as new. But to be honest I haven't driven it much lately. But when I do, I don't worry about anything. Starts right up and runs and drives like new. Like I said before, I have never had an issue that wasnt my fault.
Suspension seems the same. The seat makes it feel harder. Could be the tires too. Gonna lower the air pressure to 5 (currently 7) and see that is better.
I run 3 in front & 5 in rear, I put over 2,000 miles on last summer with no problems. And i came off sport quads to it being my First utility quad. Quads i have had in order - KFX 400 LTR 450 KFX 700 TRX 400 - over ten years time. Now I Rock out with my 2013 sportsman, check it out on my page buds.
Craigarar1971 Thanks. I bet they redesinged the seat harder on the 570 to give the 550 a chance at sales. LOL. The xp looks great but the 570 looks like the best bang for the the buck and best motor also. DOHC, smoother, more powerfull and less Noisy. I look foward to pick one up.
Hello my friend I jost got about a week ago a Polaris sportsman 2×4 and switches to 4×4 as weal green it's a 2015 and can't whate to ride it set up jost like thow that you have so get back with me thanks mark
As I said on the other video remarks. No issues except for the aftermarket wheels and tires. They hit the rear fenders under hard riding. Stock ok. Seat sucks but that is just my opinion. Since I have the older version and this new one to compare, I prefer the old style.
glockman83, I looked and researched for a couple of months before buying. I wanted a good product without breaking the bank. So far I think I made the right choice. For what I would consider normal riding, I believe that the 570 is just as good as any of the other major brands. Also I think that the ride is very comfortable. The power is awsome, and I think I rode around 4 hrs and used close to 1/2 tank of gas. Hope this helps you.
last night i bought 550 model with PS. and got home and notice one tire is low air.. so added air and same problem.. there is a leak.. will try to find the leak worst case take the wheel to dealer.. they are 1.5 away.. sucks.. but did get cheaper by 400 vs my local dealer..
glockman83 Great. I do not know anything other than what I have read about the difference between the two other than the HP. Does yours have a winch? If not check with your dealer and get the winch mount made for that model (bolts right up) and I got a 25k badlands winch (with remote) from harbor freight (seems to work fine). Was easy install (took about 1hr). Also on ebay there is a thing you can get that installs in the upper headlight housing that makes all 3 lights burn on high beam (was about $9 and I think the dealer was mountainman or something like that). It also seems to work great. And to all who might be looking for any brush guards, give GURU brush guards a look. I ordered 2 front ones yesterday and talked to John the owner. Sounded like a real nice guy. Said it would be at least a couple of weeks before shipped, as they make them to order. Good luck glockman on your purchase
bit worried about getting a polaris. they said its a pretty unreliable machine and things are constantly breaking. You guys have any opinions on this? especially the 2016 models?
Don't know about the 2016 ones but I have never had an issue. Ever. They are as reliable as any of them. A friend of mine has a Can Am that blew the motor in 20 hours of use.
wow =( Thanks for the feed back!! I always been a can am user, but now switching to polaris. I am going to get a 2 - up touring 570 in about 2 weeks and see how those go.
+Craigarar1971 Your friend blew a motor in 20 hours because he was a dumb ass. That's barely out of break in period. Polaris is shitty, and if you think they're reliable, you're stupid
+lmCIoudz my point was that they all have issues and can all break. But thanks for your intelligent reply. I don't consider myself a dumb ass for saying I have not had any issues with my 2011 at all. I think that is a fact. But your entitled to your opinion even though it is basically name calling and childish. You have a nice day though.
+will c they all have problems eventually, i know of so many 2000 polaris 500 still running strong, so with regular maintenance i'm sure it will last. I just bought a 2015 570 got 500 kms on so far not a single issue except for the the ones from the dealer, such as rattle airbox snorkel and a bad fitting seat, but that's just basic shit.....Ive always had yamaha atvs (indestructible) and so far this polaris is holding up well, and i ride it hard...just buy during fall or spring clearance and you get the 2 year warranty free!
I like my 2013 Bright white sportsman 500 a lot better then the 570. The only thing I see better is 20% more power and fuel infected. < (obviously injected)
new one sucks ive dtiven both seat is hard and uncomfortable stiffer suspension and bumpier ride power stearing ober steers and is unnessisary no reverse lights racks suck theres nowhere to hook bungies less storage in front rack my2007 is much better
i also have an 11' 500 HO.

I have rode mine in some fairly extreme conditions and it functioned fine. I did find that coming downhill you get some pretty good engine braking by having it in awd and low range. Thanks alot for the comment! When I was looking to get another one I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad if this helped in your decision.
Nicely done. Good comparison. I just ordered a 2015 today. It'll be 3 weeks until it gets here. I could have a green one today but I really like the Indy Red.
Thanks!! Nice choice with the red...lol

Thanks! I agree. Going for a long ride tomorrow so we'll see how the seat and ergonomics play out. New video soon.
Thanks for the video. I've got the 2011 and am considering the 2015. This video is exactly what i'm looking for.
Thanks!! Glad it was useful.
Awesome job, i was a polaris hater until they came out with the 570. Its priority number 1 now.
Thanks!

William Santiago that's awesome. Glad this was helpful and your happy with your decision! Take care.

Thanks
Yes. Same thing. Its the clutch and the belt catching each other. Normal. I hate it too.
Is it a kind of metal scraping sound? Because mine does that too
They’re both sharp!
Good video, and we got 3 Polaris products never a problem with them. but what was the price of the tires and wheels?
450 yfz im looking into a 2015 and this video was very useful, thank you
Nice video man. I have the exact same bike as you. Red EFI Same hand guards too lol what is the exact tire size front and back of your big horns? i'm looking to get a set
Fronts are 26x9-12. Rear 26x11-12. Thanks for the comment!
Nice looking 570!
Thanks!
doesp the 570 have a stealth snorkel? at 3:43 it looks like a snorkel running up
2011's got that cool brush guard.
Will the brush guards swap? Front and rear
Great video and thanks for taking your time to make it!
No problem. Thanks for the comment!
Sweet four wheelers man. Both look good but the 14 looks a lot better IMO.. I have a rancher but been debating between a sportsman or a can am LXMR outlander. Nice video
Thanks AJ!
I also I have rancher. 2016. I'll keep up with all the big bores besides for open ground.
What is the power difference between the two? Also is the 570 better on fuel being efi vs. carb?
Thanks for the reply. Good to know you haven't had trouble with it.
nice review and compare! good job
Any updates on the 570?? How do you like the new motor and increased power? I just bought one last week. But I'll have it parked until the spring. Had to take advantage of a great price. That's why I bought it now
Love the power. No problems at all. Hate the seat. Other than that it is perfect.
Ok thanks. Can wait for the spring. Also it won't be -40 like it is today.
Would the brush guard on your 2011 fit on the new 570?
I kept hearing you say that the 2015 sits a lot higher but your not taking in account the larger aftermarket wheel/tire package your new atv has. If you look at the tires overall height they're definitely a couple inches taller. Nice machine though.

What size tires do u have on the 2014 570 ?
Is the Engine made by Fuji Heavy Industry's on the 2014????
Im fairly sure Polaris hasn't used Fuji engines since the 90's but I may be wrong. I think they are all Polaris built now.
:( I liked Fuji Heavy Industrys,Super reliable...
What was the total for just the tires and wheel I want to get that same setup looks bad ass
Tires and wheels shipped to my door... $730. Rockymountainatv.com
What you said about the cargo space isn't true. Mine is 05 sportsman 500 and it has the same thing.
Does it has engine brake?
does one of these bikes ride better than the other? do you know if the suspentions are the same or similar? looking into getting a 4 wheeler for trail riding but my spine if fused and i need something that rides as smooth as possible.
Push the yellow button on the left handlebar. The reverse overide button.
Craigarar1971 thanks so much I figured it out!
did you have to put wheel spacers on the 2014 to fit the bighorns?
Nope. No spacers. The offset in the wheels is enough. Perfect fit.
4/156 ITP SS212 Alloy Series Wheel 12x7 4.0 + 3.0 Matte Black
Beauty, ive got a set on the way.
And also what's the tire and wheel sizes much appreciated thanks
4/156 ITP SS212 Alloy Series Wheel 12x7 4.0 + 3.0 Matte Black
Tires Maxis Bighorn 26x9x12 front.. 26x11x12 rear.
No pull start on the 570.Low battery no start.Keep battery charged all the time or you will have trouble.Battery position sucks,Winch mounting is easy.
Did you do any clutching for the bigger wheels?
Stock clutch. No issues.
so how has the 570 been holdin up thinking about buying one next weekend??
Jesse Poorman ... still runs as good as new. But to be honest I haven't driven it much lately. But when I do, I don't worry about anything. Starts right up and runs and drives like new. Like I said before, I have never had an issue that wasnt my fault.
What kind of bumper is on the 500ho?
It was the Polaris Accessory offer for that year. It's different now.
Man the new 570 isnt worked in as much. Thats why it sits higher and has a stiffer seat
How wide are the front tires on the 570? 10 inches
26x9x12
How much were those tires???
suspention Wise are they the same? soft? harder?
Hello I was wondering if you have had issues with either of your Polaris's?
No issues. Take care of them and they will last.
+Craigarar1971 thank you very much for you feedback
Nice video man. Where in ny? I live near albany

I have polaris 570 i live in Poland i like this company very good atv
Did these wheels and tires fit stock?
Yes. Stock suspension
Do you have any problems or complaints about this model? I'm looking to buy it.. just need more feed back from people who owns them.. Thank you!
Good luck glockman on your purchase
glockman83 ... sucks about the tire. 550 is totaly different than the 500 and 570. They are awesome rides though. Good luck with it!
Good Video!
Thanks!
you forgot the 2014 version has extended fuel tank
The gear lever on the Polaris bikes are so flimsy and look like they will break at any moment.
i own a polaris and have no problems with it yet i would trade it for a grizzly in an instant. that locking diff is huge
John B why? With polaris it is always 4wd vs having to engage 4wd and then push a second button to engage a locker.
Should have had an 07 to compare to
Oh yea you need to get that 570 muddy bruh!
The 2011 one looks bigger and longer
Would you consider selling that 2011? Or the 2014?
Nope. thanks for the offer.
+Craigarar1971 no problem
bit worried about getting a polaris. they said its a pretty unreliable machine and things are constantly breaking.
I love Polaris is a best atv that the life

I like my 2013 Bright white sportsman 500 a lot better then the 570. The only thing I see better is 20% more power and fuel infected. < (obviously injected)
I think I kinda agree.
You didnt even address the difference in power.
i think you like red lol
ve the 570
new one sucks ive dtiven both seat is hard and uncomfortable stiffer suspension and bumpier ride power stearing ober steers and is unnessisary no reverse lights racks suck theres nowhere to hook bungies less storage in front rack my2007 is much better
what a terrible spot for a battery! lol
Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
What size tires on the 570?
4/156 ITP SS212 Alloy Series Wheel 12x7 4.0 + 3.0 Matte Black
