Is this only lighting up keys that the software tells it to light up (as a tutorial device for the player)? Or does it also light up whatever keys your pushing, so that when you record video from a top view, it's lighting up whatever you're playing (similar to what you're see on the Rousseau channel and others)? I personally wouldn't use this for learning, only for better aesthetics while recording whatever I'm playing. So it would depend on whether this does that.

Why is the black strip the default one that's included? The black strip has the poorest lighting effect... why can't you sell this with the transparent strip without the need to also buy the black strip? Is the firmware updatable?

You'll have to select Rythm option in our app. You'll be able to make the LEDs scroll on the ledstrip at a specific tempo that you can set. But the detection of the key played can't be done.
Hi, no, it's not a problem. In any case, our ledstrip can adapt to any keyboard length. In the app, you can setup the number of keys of your keyboard to get the perfect alignment.

I have a question.. For this to work does it have to be a MIDI to Host cable? Is it possible to use MIDI In and Out? I use my VPC1 with my PC (midi to host) so the port is taken up. And I would hate to buy it and not be able to use it properly.
@@Mr.Zen_73 Unfortunately I wasted my money on the PianoLED, It is useless with the VPC-1. The problem is to get the PianoLED to function you need to plug it into the MIDI to Host port. And that port is ALREADY being used by the computer to play with VSTs and in-general function. Second issue is that the VPC1 doesn’t allow you to use TWO seperate MIDI cords at the same time so using the MIDI In and Out into the PianoLED and MIDI To Host into the computer WILL NOT WORK. Switching doesn’t help either. PianoLED Will not work with the VPC-1. Don’t let them fool you into getting it like they did for me. Best of luck to you. Unless they find a way to support bluetooth or some other connection method on the computer end, there is no hope for getting it to work.

My problem is that the PianoLED requires the Host port to function and display light and detect midi note inputs. But, that port is being used by default by my VPC-1 Which REQUIRES A computer to function at all, whatsoever.
Hi, yes ledstrip has a special adhesive tape on it, you’ll be able to remove it and to put it on your other keyboards. Don’t hesitate if you have any questions. Have a great experience with Piano LED ! :)
My setup is very involved, Id assume this is able to accept midi input being sent to it via a computer over Midi USB? If so, it works perfectly for what I need (Im already splitting my piano output to about 3 different things using a 5 pin connector, so usb midi is only an output from my system) How much latency do you think this would cause if any? Is there a adhesive tape in the back to attach on piano? Would it cause damage to the coating of the piano? I like this, but not sure if I should take the risk with my Steinway model B.
@@pianoled6256 is probably a no then haha. DAW = Digital Audio Workstation ( Ableton, Reaper, Pro Tools, Logic, Studio1, FLstudio etc ). Does the device register as a midi instrument when plugged in? If so should be able to get it to playback visuals from already recorded midi, in the daw, in real time
0:10 my castiotone lks250 keyboard doesn't have port B or midi. But it does have a micro usb port for midi. Have you tested your hardware with the: castiotone lks250

the only ports i see are the power supply and an AUX port
