- Written the night I saw Jeff Beck for the first time in 1999. I had never been so moved by a performance in my life. Every note and nuance had such incredible emotional intent. Truly an enlightening and inspiring evening. I recorded this video a few days after Jeff's passing with a version of my signature Ibanez AT100 guitar that I had made specifically to look like Jeff's "Wired" Strat. Also. I set up the tremolo to be "floating" similar to his. My heart still hurts now that he's gone, but may we all continue to reach for that incredibly high bar that he set. Beautiful. Andy sounds like Andy, as Jeff sounded like Jeff, and no one else. Both one of a kind.
Criminally underrated. He not only has a total mastery of technique, but his sense of melody, which shines through in his song writing, is extraordinary.
Playing music is like writing a story. It’s not how fast you write or how many words you can fit into a sentence. It’s about the story you can tell.

Wow, I heard of Andy Timmons in music circles for years, but never seen him play before. I am a fan after watching this incredible performance, and will be searching out more videos. I am ashamed at 54 years old that I am just now discovering his amazing guitar playing.
You better be happy that you finally found him :) I think he is not only, but better known among guitarists... which is way more of a shame. Oh, and you HAVE to see (and listen to, of course) the Ibanez 90th Anniversary video. Do yourself a favor... it's just mindblowing in my humble opinion. Instantly made me an Andy Timmons fan back then... Alas, the video quality is not really good :( But the sound is ok th-cam.com/video/W3OaDDJ7IKE/w-d-xo.html All of them are outstanding musicians...

I saw Jeff Beck live for my first time at the Anthem in DC in October. His performance was superb and I came away from it inspired and energized.
I was also impressed in an unexpected way: Jeff Beck demonstrated that it is possible to play at a very high level deep into old age. Luck certainly is a part of it, but believing you can do it is the essential part of it.
I'm sorry for all Jeff Beck fans that he got called home so abruptly and unexpectedly. At least he was able to put coda to his career on his terms and in a way that matters to his fans and further enhances his stellar legacy.
Such outcomes simply cannot be planned, which make them all the more remarkable when witnessed.

Dude hasn't hit a wrong note in 30 years or maybe more. A real master. Most don't know he started out as a venomous shredder but settled down into his current style. He has every chop and uses them with precision and taste.

Would love to hear Andy‘s take on „Cause we‘ve ended as lovers“ with a nice Fender Rhodes part/support. I think it‘s one of the hardest tune to improvise on in a convincing way. Jeff‘s version stands out till today.
