Scott, I’m from south Texas and I have followed your site for almost 30 years. As a historian I really appreciate the thorough job you do in researching in order to bring your followers facts and stories that are founded in truth. I’ve always loved cemeteries, celebrity homes, lives scandals and deaths so very interesting, and when I get to California I’m going to make sure your dearly departed tour #1 on my list to do. I hope you are able to get your museum back settled and opened to the public. Thanks for sharing your passion with the rest of us!
I remember buying the book HelterSkelter in the early 70's. The cover said, " This book will scare the hell out of you", it did. Have read everything I could find since then and til this day.

Scott's documentary 'six degrees of helter skelter' has many interesting facts about the case i've never heard before.
My mom had a hardback copy. I didn’t read it - I could read but only at a second grade level - but I looked at the pictures. The murder scene photos were especially freaky and left a lasting impression. In the book, they completely (and probably physically used scissors to) cut out the victims so what was left was a white silhouette of the victim. I think Sharon’s scene may even have shown the rope across her neck but white silhouette on either side of it, and possibly the same thing with Jay. The shaved- head Manson girls outside the courthouse also left an impression. I had to sneak looks at the book since mom had told me it was not for kids.
I lived with my Mom & Grandma and remember watching the movie on TV before I noticed the book on Grandma's bookshelf. So I guess you could say I've followed the Helter Skelter/Manson stories since I was a little kid.
I love Scott! Could listen to his stories and knowledge for hours and have!

Scott, have you ever wondered what your successor will be saying when he is giving the tours? And what he is selling? Here is a photo of Scott on his set, along with the Ciello Drive signs you can see in the photo and a copy of Scott’s official death certificate. Scott was THE authority on the criminal goings on in Hollywood and had what many say is the largest collection of Hollywood crime memorabilia, then or now. Now Scott felt strong,y that he had a duty to humanity to ensure the history of these crimes and the people they touched, as well as the cultural impact the crimes had, e preserved for posterity…..I would,pay for the tour or one of Scotty’s folders of goodies.
Scott, Steven Parent's death popped up on my App and it was only then that I realized he was born the same year as I was - 1951! I'm now 70 years old. Hard to believe the crimes were committed so very long ago as I remember as if it were yesterday.

I live in Cali ..I stumbled upon his grave a few years ago....it was very dirty I don't think he get visitors any more...so me and my Bru cleaned it with bottled water as best we could....rip.....

Wow, that's freakin creepy that he's seen/heard things attached to the bricks from the Tate fireplace. I've read before that a lot of people think Benedict Canyon in itself is haunted. Why? Who knows, but the original owner of the Cielo Drive house didn't even feel safe there. She had said when she first moved into the newly built home, she always heard noises coming from the living room area of the house, also, if I'm not mistaken, Trent Reznor felt uneasy there too. I think any items from that house absorbed the horror that happened there. Very interesting, but creepy.
Before Sharon Tate's house was destroyed Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor took the front door off the house where the word PIGS was written with her blood. He brought it back to New Orleans with him. If he feels haunted, I hope he checks the door he stole from Cielo Drive.

I was born in 1969. As a matter of fact, when Sharon Tate was killed my mom was 6 months pregnant with me. I was born in early November. My mom still remembers with vivid clarity the news on television covering the Tate Murders and how it struck all kinds of terror in her. My dad was driven crazy with my mom’s constant concerns about windows being open at night. We have always lived in San Diego so the Manson crimes were too close for comfort. She couldn’t sleep for months even after I was born. She became a nervous wreck after Tate was killed. By the way, I enjoy your stuff a lot.
I grew up & lived in San Pedro, about 30 miles south of where the murders happened. I was 13 years old when they happened…terror was everywhere, no one felt safe, no matter how close or far away you were.

You have to watch your back no matter where you go and no place is safe proof.My cousin from Jersey thinks that I was paranoid when I heard noise in his area.He thought that I been in New York too long hell with that.You have to be on your ps and Qs at all times and my cousin didn't understand that.

Fascinating stuff Scott. This is Terra, we've talked. I took one of your tours, it was the murders tour. Murder and something else. I was born in Hollywood and learned lots of things I didn't know. Maybe go through your collection and take out stuff that isn't of something you really want, keep the rest. You will regret it someday....the next day. Winifred Chapman is buried in Santa Rosa Memorial Park, Santa Rosa, CA. She was a veteran of WWII.
I always wondered what had become of her. My goodness, the memories she had to live with for all those years.

Debra Tate had Stage Two or Three Breast Cancer, which also took her sister Patty, when she did the auction at Juliens' a couple years ago. In 2020, she still spoke of having it. Knowing her mortality, she also wanted good homes for Sharon's clothing. Still, I wish better scrutiny could have been exerted over them, as her wedding dress is now in Zac Begen's Haunted Museum in Vegas, which is really tasteless.
It’s a real blurry line. If you’re going to sell her things you can’t control who buys them. She was not happy that I bought some of Sharon’s things. I gave up trying to defend myself a long time ago.

@@chelceemills854 Probably because she thinks Scott is profiting from her death / exploiting her death. Other people see him as a pop culture/ crime historian. Like Scott says, it can get pretty blurry.
@@DearlyDepartedTours Interesting. I remember there was some kind of proviso in Julien's Auction catalogue, saying that buyers must agree to treat the items respectfully, or words to that effect. But it was very vague, whatever the proviso was. I think ideally she should have had some of the more important Sharon items sold individually, so she could have more control, such as Sharon's wedding dress. I think a lot of her clothing could have gone to a museum, such as the Smithsonian, even. However, I know she needed to sell her items quickly, for medical reasons.
I agree, Scott, she had no real right to be upset you bought some of Sharon's things. But really, if she had watched your videos, she would know that you do indeed treat people's mementoes respectfully--they really are from the "dearly departed" to you. Death holds a certain fascination over all of us, in my opinion. Even Jay Sebring himself loved the fact that he lived in the old Paul Bern/Jean Harlow mansion, and pointed out to guests the exact spot where Bern had breathed his last.
@@lisellesloan3191 not trying to be rude but Debra is a very toxic person. The way she treated her family and her constant need for attention is nauseating. Especially after all of the incredible work by Doris and Patti. Debra had no interest in victim's rights until she realized she could make a living off it and get the attention she has long craved. She was actually using Sharon's name to promote her nude modeling back in the early 80s. In every interview or documentary she makes her role in the case bigger and bigger. She also puts down Sharon and her family in order to make herself appear better. (Her little comments about how Sharon would tell her SHE was the real actress or in her own words that "SHE" was the lady of the house when Sharon was filming in Europe so that she could claim Sharon's friends who died with her were also close friends of hers. But what angers me most is her lies. She lies about things that don't even make sense. Saying Sharon's throat was slashed, dismissing Roman Polanski's rape case as "not really rape" and telling Patti she made an appointment for her with the top cancer specialist in the country.

I love your documentary and have seen it many times. I don't know why this case is so fascinating but for me, maybe because I was born the same month in the same year - August of 1969. I probably originally saw your documentary on a disc from Netflix years ago, but it's one I keep going back to. I lived in LA from Dec of 1992 to June 1996 (I live in NYC) but I haven't been back since 1999. Thank you for posting these - I understand why you collect all this stuff. I am a history buff too and have contributed to a book on Dario Argento, a few small newspapers and am opening a theater in the Midwest. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Just found your channel, your voice sounded so familiar and I realized I had seen you on the Helter Skelter documentary, six degrees. I was 7 in 1969 and the Manson murders are still my worst nightmare!
I took your DD tour a couple of years ago. It was great! I saw your video regarding how there is no evidence or proof at all that Sharon and her friends ate their final meal at the El Coyote. I mentioned it on another site somewhere and boy, was I blasted for that! How dare I question Hollywood Legend!! LOL. Keep the great videos coming!

I was 4 years old, vacationing in Cap Cod , Massachusetts with my family when The Manson Killings took place. I was too young to remember myself but my mom remember's seeing newsracks filled with the Horrible massacre about it. I do remember though vacationing somewhere else in 1977 and seeing newspapers about the "Son of Sam killings. I do remember that !

My dad was in the jury pool for the Manson trial. Thank heavens he was not picked. He was a heart felt guy and it would have really hurt him to see all the evidence.

Scott is a very interesting man and is compulsive viewing, his enthusiasm for the Tate/ La Bianca killings is totally infectious and I never get tired of listening to him discuss the subject 👍
I have a holster I purchased from Frank Retz made from German leather and a suitcase from Ruby Pearl filled with vintage black powder blanks among other props from Spahn Movie Ranch. I was a student at UMass/Amherst that shut down after Kent State & Cambodia. We stayed on Retz's property for 2 weeks to interview and get settled to cover the trial in May-June 1970. Ridership was almost non-existent due to the notoriety and George had to sell off many beautiful props in the back barn. The Ranch hands were ok. The remaining family members wanted cash or drugs. One girl had a significant trust fund that carried the bill. We ended up on DeSoto at Ruby's neighbor and the Topanga at Red Meecham's a friend of Retz. The Santa Ana fires destroyed Spahn and Simi Hills in September. We received a $2500 journalism grant to cover our expenses,for a year? You could survive on $35/week in Chatsworth in 1970. Good work. I'm 72 and my grandson has taken interest in this event like many others. It was an unusual time in that alternative cultures popped up in so many places.
I read Coroner, I still have it and was always under the impression Noguchi did a half-ass job on the Monroe autopsy then changed his mind years later regarding her cause of death. They lost her organs...Jesus Christ.
Just like Bugliosi...I believe that Noguchi was 'on the take', meaning that they both were bought and paid for.
Some of the most powerful people in the country were leaning on him. A person is going to do what they're told.

The rope that was used at Cielo is at a crime museum along with the car.
I saw the very well-researched documentary on Jay Sebring, and I think that top attorney that Jay had draw up the divorce papers was highly credible. He remembered specific details. That said, do I think Sharon was literally about to divorce Roman? No, they had clearly worked out their differences, as she wanted him to commit to being a father and tone down his infidelities, which he obviously agreed to. I think Sharon's friends might have suggested divorce when they were all angry at him, and Jay likely heard about this, and said, "Sharon, I can have the papers drawn up, and if Roman doesn't take your complaints seriously, you can show them to him" or words to that effect. I know people who have done the same thing with their spouses who were taking them for granted, and it knocked them right out of their complacency.
Sharon Tate strayed. She was engaged to Jay Sebring. Some faithful woman. She went for an unfaithful sicko. She sure knew how to pick 'em. A bad decision ultimately put her in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
Hatami would say different- besides polanski claimed to be an "auteur"; why did he commit to staying in London when he was the hub of the wheel. Just a convenient excuse.
I just saw Rosemary La Bianca’s drivers license, on Ghosts of Hollywood.
It was issued March 3rd 1965; listing her Birthday as Dec. 15th, 1929.
It was placed in a toilet tank in Sylmar by
Kasabian-where it sat for four months.

On the DVD ab Manson he said that the people who bought it found pictures of parties and holidays w Steve and others

Enjoyed your video. I remember when these events really happened. People were horrified and incredulous. It was hard to understand and comprehend because there was no logical rhyme or reason for the killings. Author Jacqueline Susann and her husband Irving Mansfield were in LA and were invited to Sharon's house the night of the killings. Jackie and Irving had an early dinner with Rex Reed ( who was testing for Myra Breckenridge) and declined Sharon's invitation. Jackie turned white the next morning when she heard about the killings.
Not so long ago, Steve McQueens' wife said that Steve had planned to be at the Tate home that evening, as he was good friends with Jay Sebring. But that he had 'picked up a girl' and gone elsewhere with her. Had McQueen arrived, if Voytek Frykowski had been any kind of a man (we can see Jay fighting for Sharon) three men there would have had a fighting chance against the madness.

I do love relics. Most of mine are typical - piece of the Berlin Wall, piece of Alcatraz, rock from top of Stone Mountain, piece of Crazy Horse monument, etc. I did obtain a small piece of wood sliver from the Unabomber's cabin when they had it on display in Washington. Anyway - I and my wife were doing the famed "Atlantique" show (massive antique show in Atlantic City, New Jersey where only the finest and MOST interesting of collectibles and antiques would show up) once and this guy had an actual painting by Gacy of himself as Pogo. It was, I would say a near-perfect piece to own. He offered it to us for $400 (which was a pretty good deal at the time in the early 90's), but then dropped it to $350. He wanted to move it bad. In fact, he admitted that he did NOT like owning it. I and my wife held it.....and well, we both felt this dread...and this painting (and yes - we deal in art) literally oozed "evil". I know it sounds weird..but it did. No piece of art ever exuded that feeling over us....ever. The word "creepy" doesn't describe it. We thought about it and thought about it..AND thought about it. We knew it would be a fantastic investment at THAT price. But, our consciences took over our greed, and we both felt that IF we had bought it. something bad was going to happen to us. We finally decided to pass.
There's an old saying with dealers - you never regret what you bought....but you ALWAYS regret what you didn't buy. THIS was one time....that saying was wrong. Even now, whenever I tell that story (and yes, it IS absolutely true) , it causes me "jitters".......

I grew up in the Valley, Charlie Manson came onto my High School in Van Nuys looking for girls we did not have lock downs then but I was in gym class at the time and our gym teacher took us all to the gym until the cops came they never found him. He was looking for followers. Back then it was a scary horrible memory. My Mom found out about and I would never be allowed to walk home again.

Tex was the one that killed everyone or finished them off. He stabbed Sharon Tate to death. Not Susan Atkins. She held Sharon. He also is the one who stabbed Rosemary LaBianca as well as Leno. Leslie Van Houten reported that she tried & couldn’t. He made her stab Rosemary but she was already dead
Probably nothing all that new from what we already know or have learned. Especially since Leslie Van Houten’s attorney thinks it would support her case for release and Leslie’s been telling essentially the same story since her first parole hearing.

I was 10 years old in 1969. I live in Alabama now but then I lived in El Segundo CA. My babysitter when I was very young brought one of her friends over to babysit me. I found out later when I saw her on the news. Her friend was Susan Atkins,!! She even read me a story.

There's a Parker Brothers Ouija board in our storage. I get it out in October and put it on the fireplace for decoration with my pumpkins. I just look at it as pressed cardboard. It doesnt scare me at all. The spade is missing the plastic center. It came from a yard sale for $2.

Everything from that era has grown from intrigue to being as enthusiastic and as interested as of many of us on here bro. I promise you, I grew up with a weird, ( what I thought was weird) obsession with death and anything having to do with such, along with old pictures and Hollywood History, I remember being at my high school, (here in Indianapolis, not far from Michigan) seeing pictures lined up on the walls in the pool area and see pictures from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and this was in the late 90’s, but having this morbid obsession knowing that all these swimmers were in this exact pool scared, but intrigued of the idea, some are now dead 🤦🏽♀️ but it was always black and white photos for me. And then I find you and Jordan, Woo and I’m not the only one. Scott if I had the money I would purchase the biggest warehouse for you so that you could display all of your memorabilia’s artifacts history, I want to see costumes that were worn on different sets I want to touch all of this history.

I have been obsessed with Charles Manson for so many years. I think as nuts as he sounds he’s brilliant. I don’t believe you can be “brainwashed” into murder, especially with that kind of brutality . There had a be a tic loose somewhere. His interviews from prison he some times acts bizarre and other times he wants to clean up our water and save our trees. He makes so much sense on certain subjects. I think he’s fascinating. This was beyond amazing!!! You had my full attention and that’s hard for an Italian to shut up and listen.

I think Eileen Deitz played the head-shaven Sandy Good street corner vigil character in Helter Skelter (not to be confused with the Sandy Good character in the Inyo County scene being questioned by Bugliosi with her and Squeaky’s names changed). A few years ago while doing a ghost hunt at Moundsville State Penitentiary, while using a tape recorder a question was asked by one of the guys in our group if Charles Manson's mom was in housed in this Prison, I replied "yeah, from 1939 to 1941" . On the recording you can hear a female voice say" No.. 1942".. After reading the book on Moundsville Penitentiary... It states she was there from 1939 to 1942.

You need to get Tom O'Neill's book, CHAOS, that is several interviews with Bugliosi, and Bugliosi accidently let the cat out of the bag about what he was really up to!! He then started threatening Tom after that. You may want to start with Tom on Joe Rogan's podcast show. It is QUITE FASCINATING!
Also, you may be interested in the 1980 mock trial The People vs. Lee Harvey Oswald. Bugliosi was the prosecuting attorney, and the great and wonderful Gerry Spence of Wyoming was the defense. Mr. Spence is still with us at 94 yrs old, and has a trial lawyers training school in Dubois, WY., called Thunderhead Ranch, the Gerry Spence Experience.

You probably don’t read messages on older videos like this but I was wondering if anyone knows what happened to the cabinet Manson was found hiding in. Every clip I see of Barker already has the Cabinet gone. I wonder if it was taken by the police as evidence or someone took it shortly after the arrests.

I’ve got a 1963 California commercial license plate with a Sept. 69 quarterly tab that is rumored to have been dug up at the Spahn Ranch site. I can’t prove or disprove it’s history, would be interesting to know if a family member took it off a vehicle and tossed it into the underbrush. Thanks for your many interesting tours Scott!
