I don’t sympathise with him but when I hear stories of children being treated so disgusting by the people who are supposed to love and care for them more than anything you can understand how their minds and lives turned out so messed up.
This i agree with. His son ultimately killed himself because he was mentally messed up over everything. His grandson was also affected in turn. I can't imagine what the other children went through, but I personally saw what it put his grandson through. That's enough for me. 😢

But I can almost say for sure that his mother's parents weren't very great either, I know it's assumptious but there is a pattern. She probably wasn't loved enough as a child, she probably had a terrible relation with atleast one of the parents, so it completely shows where her behavior derives from. Generational trauma I tell ya. I'm not saying it justifies her actions but I'm just saying this is probably what really happened. It's a brutal cycle that'd unfortunately keep continuing if people don't begin being responsible enough in regards to having babies.
I remember I was talking about Charles Manson with my mom one day and she just casually mentions that my grandma used to party with them in death valley, since she was from trona, and when she couldn't find anyone to watch my mom she would just take her with and she'd sit there while my grandma partied with Charlie and his "family". Hippies were crazy man.

Linda Kasabian didn’t come from money. My grandpa went to school with her and he said they were a pretty average family. She was kinda strange but nobody expected this out of her. She was not charged because she turned herself in and was offered immunity from prosecution if she testified against the family.

Honestly same. Same with Dahmer, Bundy, and Jonestown. She talks about not covering stories because everyone knows them but for the most part a lot we just know as cultural references not what they actually did. I love these videos because they give me the summary without having to look it up myself, especially for things I have a mild interest about. It's nice to have context for the references.
Weird, I learned all about Charles Manson, Jonestown, etc. in college when I would take basic psychology courses for my bachelors degree. They’re big case studies in the world of psychology, sociology, etc.

Back in high school I was creeped out by a fellow student when we brought up Charles Manson in class this girl stood up and said very proudly and claimed that she is related to him and then stated all the evidence against him was planted by the family. So girl when I tell u when she sat down which was right in front of me btw me and another student got up and left the table cause we were not comfortable.

I never ever understood the Manson Family and I watched 'Once upon a time in Hollywood' and literally had NO idea what was happening or why. This was a great explanation and makes the movie make so much more sense!
I was born in 69. My adopted brother (there’s a long story behind his life. He’s a sociopath) who is seven years older than me, liked to scare me when I was around 5 or 6 years with the Charles Manson story. It has taken me years to be able to read or watch anything about this story. I can’t hear the name Charles Manson and not think of my “brother”. Thankfully I had a sister who was 10 days older than him (we are all adopted) and she stepped in ultimately to put an end to the abuse, but when you think of a sociopath you can imagine what we went through. I’m leaving a lot out of this. I will wrap this up by saying he got what he deserved.

There's some interviews with some of his "family" from just in the last several years. So, some of them are out there. I think I would kinda be too ashamed to admit I was there.
One of them was a woman named Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme who got off free from all charges around the Manson family even though she was a prominent member. She later got herself arrested for trying to assassinate President Ford in ‘75.

Thank you Bailey, for this unglamourized version of what happened back then. People seemed to be a bit crazy back in the 1960's, just that transitioning into the modern age. You can see it happening now too, a lot of you people falling for toxic influencers and occasionally falling into violence. I wonder if Manson and his crew would get the same sentences today, probably not, which is terrifying. I do have some sympathy for Manson, since his upbringing didn't give him the tools to seek a better life, he claims to have admired his uncle, but he didn't pursue that life. He's have been better off if he'd just chosen to go off-grid, instead of forming his awful criminal gang.

My parents were kinda hippyish in the 60’s / 70’s and remember this happening, so I’ve heard them talk about it a lot over the years. To this day my mom still can’t get over what they did to Sharon Tate’s baby (probably because it was super freaking horrible & she had just became a mom around that time so all the mom emotions came into play).
Sharon Tate’s sister has gone to every single parole hearing of all of them! She’s literally dedicated her whole life to making sure they never get out :(

It has taken me years to be able to read or watch anything about this story. I can’t hear the name Charles Manson and not think of my “brother”. Thankfully I had a sister who was 10 days older than him (we are all adopted) and she stepped in ultimately to put an end to the abuse, but when you think of a sociopath you can imagine what we went through. I’m leaving a lot out of this. I will wrap this up by saying he got what he deserved.

Even Bailey's longest videos seem too short to me. She makes these videos very interesting and before u know it, nearly an hr has gone by and it doesn't feel like it.
I've heard so many different things about this story and watched so many different things and no one ever mentions how the black panther thing started. Thanks for covering the bases. This isn't the first time you've talked about a story that is popular but you had more information. Especially some of the Netflix documentaries. They seem to leave out a lot of info.

There's some interviews with some of his "family" from just in the last several years. So, some of them are out there. I think I would kinda be too ashamed to admit I was there.
One of them was a woman named Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme who got off free from all charges around the Manson family even though she was a prominent member. She later got herself arrested for trying to assassinate President Ford in ‘75.

Bailey I'm from California. Im not big on the death penalty because sometimes innocent people have been wrongly executed. Manson has always been the exception. He was very scary, and I felt a sense of relief when he died. He was in Corcoran prison which is about 20 minute drive from here.

People seemed to be a bit crazy back in the 1960's, just that transitioning into the modern age.
You can see it happening now too, a lot of you people falling for toxic influencers and occasionally falling into violence.
I wonder if Manson and his crew would get the same sentences today, probably not, which is terrifying. I do have some sympathy for Manson, since his upbringing didn't give him the tools to seek a better life, he claims to have admired his uncle, but he didn't pursue that life. He's have been better off if he'd just chosen to go off-grid, instead of forming his awful criminal gang.

My parents were kinda hippyish in the 60’s / 70’s and remember this happening, so I’ve heard them talk about it a lot over the years. To this day my mom still can’t get over what they did to Sharon Tate’s baby (probably because it was super freaking horrible & she had just became a mom around that time so all the mom emotions came into play).
