Happy Bridgemas!! So lovely to see your "sparkly" version of the final few weeks at Cambridge, your Bridgemas evening looked wonderful!! Also the classic 12 days of Christmas song at formal is always a highlight, so good to see thanks for sharing a very wholesome vlog.

I think British universities have it right. I didn't turn 21 until my senior year. There was a nice pub on the bottom floor of the student union, supported by student fees. Yet, under 21's were not even allowed on that floor (even though we paid for it). I never lived in college, i lived at home for undergrad and then my parents bought me a house when I went away to grad school. There was not a partying culture, but I did get a lot of studying done!

I do feel incredibly lucky to have had such a fun experience at university so far, I've had the most amazing time :) I definitely should acknowledge how fortunate and privileged I am more than I do on this channel, and your very thoughtful comment has reminded me - so thank you very much! I hope you were still able to have a fun time at college regardless of the different culture, and can still look back with a degree fondness!

Hi Lou! I loved every minute of college (my major was molecular biology), (especially after we were allowed to use calculators and not slide rules!) Since most of us didn't know any different, the "norms" of the 1970s were just that, norms. My mom used to complain about how much better we had it that she did in nursing school in the 1930s! I would love to be able to start over in college, just to see how things have changed. If I had unlimited money, the instant I retired (which is coming in the next few years) - I would enroll in a nanosecond, although I'm not sure what I would study.@@life_of_lou

Hi I am a student who is completing my gcse art early, the topics i have done is 1 full sketchbook on natural forms and spirals then the 2nd topic is confectionary do you think i should mount my confectionary things in another book or should i put them on boards to get top marks? I have also only got 2 A3 big pieces do you think thats enough for the whole thing? any help is much appreciated!
    thank you :)

Hi there! Thank you so much for watching my videos and for reaching out :) I've just been checking the video comments, so sorry it's taken me a couple of weeks to get back to you!
Really impressive to do the art GCSE early, definitely understand how you feel about not knowing the best way to present things! I will say that the marks usually come from the art itself rather than the presentation. Nice presentation is just a good way to make the examiners like you a little bit more, but in theory it shouldn't affect the marks much, if at all! Back when I sat my GCSEs boards weren't really a thing but I know they're much more popular these days. If you think boards would work well to tie similar concepts and ideas together then maybe go for that? But if you prefer having a book to flick through that ties the whole project together in one place then stick with a book! I think it's definitely up to personal preference tbh (I'm definitely a book fan, they're so much more practical and portable!)
In terms of the size, I would say a few more big A3 pieces won't hurt as they show you can work on "final piece" scale (most proper artists work bigger on large canvases so if you want to give the impression that you can keep up with their level then bigger might be better!).
Hope that all helps! Good luck and if you have any more questions do drop me a message/comment! xx
