@@Shortline819 Well we’ll see. I’m hoping WMATA improves service along these corridors! But I agree that a full on absorption of the Circulator would be unlikely.
I've only been on the circulator once, and I was the only person on it To my knowledge theres no plan for Metrobus to reintroduce the circulator routes.
Hopefully service on WMATA’s 33 is improved; it’s already really busy and will likely only get more crowded once the Georgetown-Union Station route ceases to exist.
When the majority of the riders have NOT paid a fare for their ride, watch the ride disappear... Even in socialist marxist cities there are budgets, and the services that are usually cut are the ones that lose the most money... It is what it is, whether you like it or not...
Good points! Fare evasion is a huge problem. At least DC is realizing it doesn’t have infinite money to throw around. Hopefully that means they will better allocate it in the future and better enforce fare control.
From what I've heard, the fare machines on the buses would break often, meaning people couldn't pay their fares if they wanted to. Now, I'm not sure how it would work for frequent users, but since the fare's only $1, it would make sense to me to simply accept cash only.
@@andrewsawesome I think they should accept cash regardless, but with how many residents, visitors, commuters, and tourists there are in DC who have SmarTrip cards already, I think getting rid of the transit card payment option would lead to less people paying their fare. Then again, the entire Circulator bus system is going to disappear this month, so any change they make wouldn’t matter for long.
I always found it so useful when I was in DC :(
It’s a nicely-designed network; definitely not the best part of the budget to cut.
The unfortunate first domino to fall. It’s quite unnecessary to have this service removed.
I’m sure there were much less important things in the budget that could have gone, but they unfortunately chose the buses.
Apparently there is somewhat of a push by locals and Union leaders to get the Circulator transfered to WMATA. Unlikely to go anywhere though... :(

RIP. Too bad I won't get the chance to ride it before it disappears
Well, some of the routes will be sticking around until December!
Very unfortunate

What will happen to the route?
It’s just gonna stop running; there will be no more Circulator service to Rosslyn. There will still be Metrobus service to Rosslyn from DC, however.
