29 systems, you say? Imagine if I rode 29 transit networks for the 529 subscriber special… But yeah, I’m surprised some of the larger agencies don’t use this technology!
@@29downtheline I live in Newport News and lived for a short while in Williamsburg and wasn't super impressed with WATA. I tried a few times to make the bus work instead of having to drive, and it didn't serve where I lived or wanted to be picked up from, it didn't serve where I wanted it to go, the transfers didn't line up, and the frequency wasn't often enough. One example: once I wanted to go from the restored area to Quarterpath off of 199; the line that serves Quarterpath is the ONLY one that doesn't also go to the transit center (near the restored area)! Another time I was looking into going to the NN airport to rent a car; that also didn't work on multiple levels. I WANT to take WATA so bad, but I just haven't been able to make it work, and if someone who likes taking transit AND is adept at doing so can't make it work, what's the hope for your average person? (And then they wonder why people don't take the bus...)
@@CableFlame That’s unfortunate, but I’m not really surprised, given WATA’s size. I didn’t know there was a line in Williamsburg that misses the transit center! I think the system probably works best if you are going in and out of the center of town; I can see how it’s probably not the best for more orbital routes.
I totally agree! I would guess that many towns of Williamsburg’s size and sprawl either don’t have buses, or only have a limited number of routes/services. I just wish they’d bring back the Surry Line! (ferry bus!!!)
I can’t hold my puns any longer… WATA innovative Electronic Map! 🤓
I've been on 29 systems in 4 different countries (US, Canada, France, Germany) and it's the best I've ever seen as well!

Clearly WATA needs to take over every agency’s operations
@@tyleralberico They do a pretty good job!
Hey, I'm from there and I like riding WATA buses.
WATA is a really nice system; Williamsburg is very fortunate to have it! I’ll be posting more Williamsburg content in the future, so stay tuned!

I like wata
As do I!
I’m surprised Wmata’s MetroBus doesn’t have This Technology
Yeah, it is kinda odd that I haven’t seen this on larger systems. It would be a nice addition to buses in DC, though!
i like wata
It’s a neat system!
Williamsburg doesn’t have to be this good but they chose to be.

@ i rode that line 10 years ago. WATA has charm.
@@PiplupJames It does indeed!
