Thank you for making this very very simple. I am sitting here binge watching as a homeowner. We should change the wax rings on our toilets often before there’s a leakage thank you for making it simple. I saw one video it said, sometimes you can add double wax rings on a toilet to make it more leakproof.
If your toilet is leaking at the bottom and moves around. It's usually due to the wax ring. What happens is that one side of the wax ring gets pushed down and compresses, which leaves a gap. So, a new wax ring fixes the issue.
Not everyone has one that sponge trick is actually pretty cool wish I would've known this before I flipped my commode. But a dollar sponge doing the same thing as a 60$ shop vac is pretty cool less bulky too

I use a long straw to drink the water up out the bowl.

Attach the wax ring to the bottom of the toilet not on the flange of the floor
I have been watching videos they suggest you actually do both sometimes double wax rings
Using liquilock to solve the water-in-bowl issue is ideal. Watxhing you use a sponge to remove the water is...weird lol

Just vacuum the water with a wet vacuum
I would recommend an aquarium pump because they are cheaper to throw away. I like my vacuum.

Get a packet of the liquid lock to turn remaining water into gel
How would you known if the wax ring needed to be changed?
if you see water coming out from the bottom or floorboard underneath or just replace the toilets every 10 years. so they look good.
