I fell in love with that woman the first time I heard her belt out 'You're the right kind of sinner' in that high register. Her voice could melt this teenage guy into a puddle. Underrated is so overused, but the guitar player Neil Geraldo is underrated, he can truly shred.
First commercial hit from her debut album "In the heat of the night" Heartbreaker is the second single, and it established Pat as a force to be reckon with in the rock and roll landscape. The power vocals became a signature sound that cascaded her into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
@@joecrone9862 Haha... I remember this gal was pretty tall and Pat's tiny, so no such luck. The crowd responded to her like she was the real deal, though. Maybe it was that Pat Benatar lookalike from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High!"
@@robertphelps1574 Wow, I'll have to check her out. In the "Fire and Ice" reaction video I commented that that song always reminded of AC/DC's "Touch Too Much" in the opening bars.
This is actually her very first single from her first album, In The Heat Of The Night, in 1979. She opened for P!nk recently, and she came back out and performed Heartbreaker with PInk! Is was soooooo cool!
I'm pretty sure this is a lip sync to the studio recording, but for TV, that was par for the course. 1980 was pre MTV so this was definitely early in Pat's career.

Damn people are taking on a songs that I was going to put out eventually. Oh well, at least I don't have to pay for that one. I've been in charge is a great singer. I don't care what anyone says I think hit me with your best shot is probably my favorite, although she's got a lot of good ones so it's kind of tough
Okay guys don't get upset. I'm about to say something that's going to probably make you mad, but there's not one bit of music made today that I am aware of that will ever be this good again which is really disappointing to me cuz I love music. I'm always on the lookout for something new and I did just find one I'm not sure about yet but I'm still working on it and listening to it but it's not Rock or metal
Pat Benatar was a woman in a man’s world.. she wasn’t early 80s she was if women did hard rock in the early 70s she would have dominated she was that good
And she still rocks today at 71
Pat Benatar was so good that she could harmonize with herself live.
Pat Benatar was only little, but she had a big voice.
Great singer with many hits.
she was trained as an opera singer.

Classic #1 of Pat Benatar heart breaker ❤❤❤❤
A Pat Benatar lookalike came to my school years ago.and did this tune at an assembly. She did a damn fine job and riled up the crowd!
Would be awesome if it turned to actually have been Pat !

The song was written for and originally released in 1978 by Jenny Darren

@@johnr5382 I stand corrected. First hit single, though. 😉
I believe Hit me with your best shot was her first hit but I could be wrong but that's the first one I remember before. Heartbreaker
The next song you should listen to is You better run! Its 🔥
