"Sax", the guy who played the saxophone in this band sadly passed away . He was one of the few sax players that could play TWO saxophones at the same. Time!!. Guys I know that because of The Warning you basically started checking Mexican Rock, but the reality is that in Mexico there's being a plethora of Rock bands ever since the 60's , singing in Spanish and English.
Sax now has a monument in his hometown Soledad de Graciano Sanchez in San Luis Potosi Mexico
"Kumbala" was the name of a bar that doubled down as a brothel. The song is about the clientele looking for female company sung as tasteful as possible. Two hints at this: the song starts with "Luz/Roja es la luz/Luz de neón/Que anuncia el lugar/Baile Kumbala Bar" ("Light/Red is the light/Neon light/That announces the place/Baile Kumbala Bar"). In Mexico, I don't know if it is something universal or not, but red lights are used to announce that a place is a brothel. And in the spoken word part, the frontman says "Sol/No entiendes lo que pasa aquí/Esto es la noche/Y de la noche son las cosas del amor" ("Sun/Don't you understand what's going on in here?/This is the night/And to the night belongs the matters of love"). Great song.

This song comes from their conceptual album titled El Circo which means The Circus, every song depicts a part of the Mexican culture, there are many good songs in that album. Pachuco and Un Poco de Sangre are two of them that I recommend you to listen. Un poco de sangre means "a little bit of blood".

We Mexicans, and actually, we latinamericans, love when someone who doesn't speak our language react to our songs and bands, we are naturally friendly, and welcome everybody from everywhere, as long as we are corresponded with respect and friendly treatment too. About the name:
"In Mexico City, vecindad (literally meaning "neighborhood") refers to residential constructions that were built at the end of the nineteenth and at the beginning of the twentieth centuries. Still inhabited today, these residential areas share one or more large patios and common areas such as bathrooms and laundry facilities, basically because the rented rooms do not have them. The more patios a vecindad has, the more populated these buildings are and therefore the poorer it tends to be.
The name "and the children of the fifth patio" has an interesting history. There's a Mexican movie from 1950, called "The Fifth Patio" due to it narrating the history of very poor families living in a fifth patio in a vecindad in Mexico City Downtown. In the twentieth century there was a vecindad located in the Santa María La Ribera suburb, the front door of which reminded a lot of the front door of that movie's vecindad, and people in the neighborhood started to call that vecindad "The Fifth Patio". Most of the band members were born and raised in that vecindad, in Santa María La Ribera, Mexico City."
