What needs to come off in order to get to it? Is it dash out job? Is this the V159 temperature positioning motor? - error code on mine with this same noise Thanks
Hi, sorry still not sure what categorically fixed this. The a/c needed regassing after a 4th leak on another pipe was found in year 10 of ownership. I suspect this meant the blend flap was over reaching calling for cooler air as this would only happen in summer. After having the car from new and too many problems under warranty and approx 12k repairs alone my family finally after years of begging got rid a few months ago. Such a relief those Touareg's need constant baby sitting. You never get chance to get down the fix it list. Always something lingering behind the scenes on these that no garages seem to know how to fix. Despite being religiously maintained they just shxt on you big time, often when you need them the most.
Hello, have you solved it because mine makes exactly the same noise and I took off the plastic under the glove box and its the same servo and it starts making noise when I turn the AC on
Karl Aria hi mate, no We haven't. The flaps have now been recalibrated. 😃The a/c pipes split the other day so no a/c. Those are now fixed and noise is much better. I think it's to do with the flap that controls the temperature (amount the goes through the a/c evaporator). Now the a/c system is working the flap maybe doesn't need to go so far to command the colder air. Also this is RHD car it's under steering wheel side behind parking brake pedal.

Mine does the same, 06 plate, right hand side drive. Needs new actuator or calibration? If calibration, how needs to be done ? VCDS ? Or manually ?
