    Very nice. Forgot to mention that the drain plug should be torqued. If you over tighten the drain plug and it strips you'll have to replace the whole oil pan. And always wear gloves. 4.4qts of full synthetic 0W-20 for that model. Good work

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      5w-40 will still lubricate, but keep in mind that the suggested oil is recommended due to the passages and engine. Using what is recommended will give the best performance and fuel economy

      Adam Ismael 0W-20 oil (synthetic is better) and usually a car takes approx 5 quarts, 4 in the oil pan and 1 in the filter. For larger engines it will take more quarts

    Couple of things... there's a plastic cover that blocks the view of the oil drain plug AND ABSOLUTELY NO view of the oil filter when cover is intact. (FYI there's actually multiple covers protecting the underside of the front end)! And those screws are NOT 14mm. Try 10mm! Made a 30-50 min job take me over 3hrs due to fighting with the plastic coverings! Ughhhh 😫

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Krea Yeager not sure what Prius you were dealing with but the Prius C worked on in this video, and the Toyota spec, is a 14mm oil drain plug. Someone may have changed yours out from the factory one. As for all the plastic panels you had to deal with, I don’t know. What was shown in the video is the way Toyota manufactured it...clear access to the plug.

      @@kreayeager8786 Why are you being so hostile to someone providing a free tutorial video? If it's too hard for you to do, just pay someone to do it. The one in the video looks like a 2012 or 2013. Maybe the newer models have additional splash guards.

      @@matthewfontaine9714 you've got me all wrong... no hostility coming from my direction... and that body style is identical to my Prius, so it's got to be close to my year, would have been nice to have known for sure... because you are correct that different yr models may had been enhanced/modified slightly, that's why I pointed out how that lack of information caused me time and frustration I wasn't prepared for. Mostly because he said all you need to do this is.....blah blah blah. So an inexperienced person, such as myself, trusted his information and fought with that under panel and the wrong size tool for way too long. Believing I was doing something wrong cause HE SAID I only needed that one size socket.
      Wow so defensive for him , when I only pointed out constructive criticism. 😁
