I saw B B King at Michigan State University around 1973. I was 16 years old I remember the venue was sold out and he gave a great concert. That was 50 years ago.

This may upset most of you but I was there. I was treated by my best buddy Nobby for my birthday. Though I had many of his records such as Live at the Regal and Deuces Wild, nothing prepared me for being so completely overwhelmed by his skill, his technique, and most of all feeling every note as if it was a precious gem of priceless worth. An unbelievable artist.

Technically - not spiritually, soulfully, etc. - but TECHNICALLY, he is the greatest lead blues guitar player that ever was. Technique is knowing what notes to play and when. The rest is superficial.
Larry Carlton once said, "young folks just listen to bb's playing, if you play and bb not, you are wrong"
