I find it hard to believe that Cartman would actually tell a Christmas story that not only excludes him from being a character, let alone the main character, but also makes someone other than himself the hero. It’s no surprise that he’d make Kyle the villain, then kill him off at the end. Speaking of which, I think that’s the 3rd time he joked about Kyle having AIDS… until one day, he decided not to joke about it. 😱
Funny how cartman not only makes stan the main character but also a hero he even keeps him in character. (His love of animals and the crushing guilt he feels when he kills the mountain lion.) Shows that cartman may he a sick little monkey but he does still like and respect stan
I'm jealous of you watching this for the first time. This is one of my favourite South Park episodes ever, I understand some might find it a bit too full-on but I just think it's so funny, and every single one of the twists work
Cerberus was just one creature, not a whole species. He had three heads, and he was protector of The River Styx. Edit: Just a little mistake. Cerberus is the protector of the underworld, but The River Styx is the entryway to the underworld.
I read aversion of the Greek myth that had 3 cerberus dogs: a one-headed, a two-headed and a three-headed. Or maybe I got it all confused, and that's the dogs from the fairy tale about the soldier and the rich witch in the woods. Anyways, one of those had a 2-headed dog as protection: medium level
You expected the twist.. I remember watching this episode and liking it but was like where is this going. Then the twist made it worth it. Best Christmas episode ever

I think the whole blood orgy scene is a reference to an image drawn by wally wood in the 60s called the disney land orgy. Wally wood was a popular playboy/marvel comics artist back then and was the guy who desined the classic red daredevil costume. Also the plot with something that seems innocent being of the devil is similar to the film Rosemary's baby. why instead of disneyesq animals it was kindly old people.

I'm more into dragon and other mythology, but I believe Cerberus are always 3 headed which represents some divine or fallen aspect of beliefs. Like Christianity and the number 3.

@@Tolyeso glad you enjoyed, not too many people react to this one but it’s so Goated . It was the last episode of the season and they had NO idea what to write. Matt and trey were about to cancel the last episode cause they had no leads. Until Antichrist clicked and they decided to make this episode however they only had 3/4 days as opposed to the regular 6 days they take to make an episode so it was rushed. But still came out amazing. After you watch a few more iconic episodes a reaction that does really well is “6 days to air” a short video on how they make each southnpark episode. You get to see behind the scenes, meet the creators, see the voice actors and how they brainstorm this crazy stuff. It’s a GREAT documentary and will give you mad respect for the creators
