Hello! For anyone wondering about a pattern, I have thought about it and I think I'm going to use this as a starting point for a baby dinosaur pattern (wrinkles & rolls included), rather than release it as a crochantosaurus. Keep your eyes peeled for that video in future! :)
I’d love a pattern for his head, that I could even use with other bodies! (Not that they would be NEARLY as cool as the croissantBody! I just LOVE the legs, which I would like to snack on!)
I thought of that while you were doing it, and my gut thought was it feels like it might validate AI crochet. Like everyone screaming its not real is undermined by one very clever and experienced pattern designer can, so therefore it was never fake. My gut response, though, as I said. I'd enjoy seeing trying and failing and commentary on that. This is absolutely adorable and totally worth it.
Your comment on "it's all downhill from here" and "it's all uphill from here" meaning the same BROKE MY BRAIN bc I thought they are opposite but they are not? Why? How? I just can't 😭
I haven't watched the video yet but could you please consider making way more in-depth tutorials on advanced amigurumi formation. You are the best I've seen and I want to learn everything you know from you!! I want to learn every single technique so that I can learn to do what you do, see something 2D and crochet it in 3D. It's truly incredible. Thank you for sharing your skills with us. Xx
This is so cute!! Also you had me cackling - I love your jokes and the way you always show how you figure out how to construct these strange strange shapes.
So much to say about this video, but here’s the highlights… A - I love it so much. Your ambition is admirable, and your creative and practical skills are off the chart! B - You’re a natural presenter, both thorough, humorous, and charismatic. C - It’s SO interesting to see how your mind works through the project. That’s very helpful, useful information. D - I literally cackled when you mentioned “calling about your car’s extended warranty” because I had no clue that was a worldwide scam. I always assumed they only target us “stupid” Americans. Sad reality, but hilarious reference. E - Your final piece is way better than the AI. He’s precious! Thank you for this most entertaining upload!
Funny as an illustrator to see you incorporate acrylics and watercolor paint into this, haha. The end result looks amazing though! The detailed work you do is crazy, I admire your patience :) Very cute boi :)
Honestly, yours turned out better than the image. I’ve always thought the eyes were creepy whenever I see that picture, you worked your magic and made it CUTE. Also he reminded me of a roasted turkey at the beginning stages 😂
Im absolutely stunned by your attempt and for me you totally nailed it. love your voice, that you take us (=viewer) into your thought/creative process and the results are always amazing. Didnt find you that long ago, but I already watched a lot
I always like seeing how you approach the problem. I probably would have done large triangles and rectangles and rolled them up like real croissants to get the layers on the body, tail, and limbs. Then add the little hands and feet. The head would be like yours.
What an interesting concept and charming little fella! I was fascinated with your process on this, especially the painting. I know a lot of amigurumi folks will use makeup or paint or other pigment on their creations, and I'm always super nervous of doing that. also chiming in here to say I'm a big fan of the patron names over a blooper reel, I hope it's not too much extra work for you to edit, but it really does feel like a little extra treat if we stay all the way to the end of the video >:3
I love this! (also can we talk about how the shape is a little bit sandshrew and wouldn't that be adorable?) :D ETA: I love the way you edited the video as well with the drawings and example pictures and everything.
me: dude i'd LOVE to make this pattern! he's such a cute guy and it would be so fun to paint the details! Also me, who'd never be able to sew all those pieces:
This is freaking cool! I saw the Instagram post and someone mentioned in the comments that you have a video, so I absolutely had to see the process. Brilliant done! 👏👏👏
Your videos and this one especially have made me want to try to make them with sewing(I need to get my machine in to be fixed). A stiff shiny-ish fabric might look really cool for the layers
Even my husband (who is not at all into chrocheting) watched this video until the end! Your videos are entertaining and we are impressed by your skills.
Omg i love him! This video gave me so much joy watching and you always have me laughing along with you. Love your style of videos and your funny side! Will see you on your next Livestream! ❤😊
I love watching your videos honestly I learn a new way to fix my own crochet every time love it haha Also those legs look like shrimp to me aswell, anyone else, haha new pattern unlocked 😂
I'm loving the evolution of your videos, thank you for the laughs and bringing us on your creative journey. The bloopers at the end are a great way to top off a great video 😊
This video is crazy good proof that you are literally a magical yarn sculpting wizard! My mind is always crazy blown when I watch your vids! I wish I could teleport myself to your house so I could soak up some of that talent! It’s crazyyyy 🤯👏🏻 i would so love it if you did a video where you explain some of your crazy cool techniques like that crazy chain thing you did for the legs, and how you’re able to just know exactly how ti make what you see in your mind! I hope someday that I can be even half as good as you are! ( edit: you are truly 1,000 percent my crochet hero!! ❤ )
i think it would be fun if you fully drew and rendered the image you were crocheting first :) that way its entirely your own. this is great inspiration!! love your work
Awesome effort! I crocheted an ai image once too, just to see if I could. Actually turned out good. As for eyes scratching- if you're using nail polish or resin based products, you can use a uv light to cure it harder. Cure times differ, so you'd need to look that up
You are INCREDIBLE!!! I could never come up with something like that, even if I followed an actual pattern! I think crochet dino pastries/breakfast items/desserts should definitely be a thing 🤗 May I suggest, however, that in order to completely be at one with said pastry/breakfast item/dessert dino you should consume the food version - purely in the interest of science and authenticity 🤔😆🥐
I hate to say it, but... It's = It is. Its = belonging to. That said, I LOVED the video. I think the new way of handling the patron names is great, and the bloopers at the end are fun. The crochauntosaurs turned out pretty amazing, and I'd love to see you do a more refined wrinkly dinosaur pattern. Heck, we could even turn it into a wrinkly dragon too with a few changes (like some horns, and a pair of cute, stubby wings).
for the eyes - you may need to give them a light sanding to help any top coat stick, but also you could just use fine sandpaper alone to bring down the shine a little. and ofc be sure to wear a mask and have good ventilation when sanding plastics! i haven't finished the video yet but he's looking SO cute - plus i feel like i learn so much watching your videos! your problem-solving techniques just blow my third eye wide open, lmao
It came out great! Personally, were I to attempt, I would probably use a shade darker for the "bready" part. Other than that, I'd love to see a pattern for this. 👍
Love your creativity when it comes to such unique shapes!!! I would have never thought of the technique you used for the legs but it makes so much sense now that i saw it. Also as someone who loves baking and crochet, I now wanna make both, an actual croissantosaurus (even though pastry-dough is my least favorite to work with) as well as a crochet-croissantosaurus. ❤
@@ComplicatedKnots I'm pretty sure it is, at least in my native language which... Isn't English😅 but as a German I can confidently say it is not bread😅🥐🥖💕

I'd love a pattern for just the tail, so I could crochet myself a croissant, because I suddenly have the urge to crochet myself a croissant ...
I would love to see you make a series out of this, with all of the AI crochet amigurumi pictures that plague pinterest and such!
I'm thinking about it for sure! This is not the first time I've attempted this, it's just the first time I liked the result.
@@ComplicatedKnotsif anyone could make it work, it’d be you dude!!! no pressure obviously, do what u love, just saying it’d be cool :)
I'm so fed up with AI clickbaits, especially on pinterest, then offering you a totally different pattern in poorer quality.
I thought of that while you were doing it, and my gut thought was it feels like it might validate AI crochet. Like everyone screaming its not real is undermined by one very clever and experienced pattern designer can, so therefore it was never fake. My gut response, though, as I said.

Wow, I’ve never seen such clickbaits! I don’t frequent Pinterest…are they anywhere else?
Would it really be a complicated knots video without the hardest working tortoise?
Verily! We all cheer for the hardest working tortoise!

the base shape before you get to the head is giving me sandshrew vibes which is giving me some ideas about my next project 😂 i love this!
omg a shar-pei or pug tutorial from you sounds amazing, hope you’ll do it 😊

I've seen people use make up like eyeshadow for adding softer details, maybe something to consider trying in the future x
