[TS:C] Trying the NEW UP CHALLENGER with its Creator & Tester!

  • In this video, we're checking out the brand new model of the Union Pacific Challenger in Train Simulator Classic! We are again joined by Justin, the beta tester for Smokebox; and by Smokebox himself! Unfortunately his microphone didn't work so we just got comments via chat, but it was great to get to run around with his creation with him.
The model is fantastic, and the textures are top-tier! Absolutely wonderful.
    Get the challenger here: store.steampow...
Apologies for my god-like reverb, my office has been completely redone and it's very "live" in here now that all of my acoustic stuff is packed up to move!

When you do a articulated locomotive, I hope you can find the artist rendering of a quintuplex 2-10-10-10-10-10-2 that was in the August 1951 Trains or the patent for a 2-8-8-8-8-8-2.

A major accomplishment in what DTG would have us believe is a dead physics engine. This could have been done 10 years ago if Dovetail let it happen organically. Smokebox and a handful of 3rd party route creators has shown how little of Phys X was utilized by the parent company. Follow the money trail. DTG plods out another TSW edition begging for your hard earned money like it's tomorrow's paper. Most of it looks like TSC with slightly better roadbed and a few more 4K textures. How many more years before they give us route creation? Shame on them. Beautiful and best steam locomotive bar none on any platform. Smokebox is a genius.

Right now our numbers allow a driver to hit 50% throttle with the reverser in the corner and it will not slip. I think that way way wrong but we don’t know what we don’t know to fix it.

I've been wondering, the Big Boy has a higher official top speed than the Challenger (80 mph vs 70 mph), but the Challenger has slightly larger drivers than the Big Boy (69" vs 68") and it is the smoothest riding articulated steam locomotive. I honestly Prefer Eastern Steam Power Houses like the Allegheny Class or Pennsylvania Steam Locomotives. The Challenger or Big Boy are Both Really Nice Modeled Awesome Mod locomotives Smokebox built but in my opining are so over played by everyone and gets annoying and really old fast the Big Boy or Challenger can't compete with as such Raw Power as what the Eastern Railroads were doing. Largest Steam Locomotive Ever Built the Allegheny Class 2-6-6-6 C&O Most will say UP Big Boy 4-8-8-4 as that's a Lie, Blueprints Don't lie people only people online Lie as taking a closer look at the Allegheny shows that Massive Firebox and Smokebox Larger Steam Pistons just to name a few. Big Boy only has Length over any other Steam Locomotive on the Planet. The Big Boy or the Challenger aren't even on the Top 3 All time Most Powerful Steam Locomotives Ever Built. No.1 The Q2 Pennsylvania 4-6-4-4 being the Most Powerful ever built and doing it all from Climbing grades with more Freight to running at speeds higher than any other pulling more single handed, No. 2 The Yellowstone 2-8-8-4 Pushing the Limits of Power, No. 3 Allegheny Class C&O 2-6-6-6. You would think the Virgina Railway with the 2-8-8-8-4 would be the Topmost Powerful as it was but the Horsepower has shown that it's top speed of 18mph and not being able to Climb grades with more than 32 Freight cars makes it very disappointing sounding was a downfall of its build as it's considered to Be the Strongest ever Made but was only used for 8 months says it wasn't something Special as the Pennsy Q2 was that lasted 13 years in service. The Allegheny Steam Class would EAT both the Challenger & Big Boy up if made Correct as a in game Locomotive just by the scale size of them.
PS. just a Note so anyone that doesn't believe this to be true, Don't Wikipedia it as that Program isn't true to nature as You or myself can change the facts of anything on how that Search Engine works. My info is direct as it came from Washington DC Library Historical Artifacts, if ever been you're not allowed to take out anything but can Photocopy almost anything in their archives that Proves its 100% Legit As these 3 Steam Locomotives are.
