Join Nancy as she starts the Double Wedding Ring Quilt tutorial. This quilt is a favorite to anyone who has received it as a gift or owns one but it can be a little hard to make. There's lots of different ways to piece one together--scrappy, applique or traditional. Nancy will show you the steps for making your own traditional double wedding ring quilt, how to bind it and quilt it. She'll be using John Flynn's 12 inch double wedding ring template set to make the quilt seen in the upcoming tutorials. You can also use a die-cutting machine and die set from Sizzix to make one. The die set cuts all the fabric for you.

I absolutely LOVE your fabric choices for these quilt - so different from all the traditional ones I have seen. I've always wanted to make this quilt but have been waiting for the inspiration. I have it now, in spades. Thank you for this video.

I recently started a double wedding ring (20 years since the last one), after which I purchased the acrylic templates, but wasn't crazy about how they put the rings together. I came across your video and I LOVE your method of teaching so much! I've been binge watching your shows all weekend! I'm a professional quilt maker and long arm quilter and I found your shows to be very informative and easy to understand and therefore recommending them to my friends and new quiltmakers. Thank you!!!

Good afternoon Nancy and the girls, my favourite is that show stopper of a rainbow double wedding ring that you are making. I know that it wouldn't go in my room but i don't care, i love it. I love the colours and the way they merge, i love the rings and rings intersecting with each other and i love how it just adds that rainbow that we all need in our lives. I think the fact that i am just learning i would actually buy the sizzix die and cut it that way and then i know that they pieces are all as precise as they need to be. It 's amazing the things that you learn or find out, when you bring out your sewing machine that you spent a lot of money on. Silly things like i didn't know that i had a quarter inch mark actually on my sewing machine or wishing that i could make my needle stop on the down and make it easier for turning when sewing. Because of you i decided to start reading my machine book that is still very hard to actually understand unless you actually do it as you are going. The retailer told me to read it first before starting to sewing but because of it's layout, it just didn't make much sense and even yet it is still a bit confusing. With trying out my machine on just the embroidery, which was why i bought it, i had only every used it for that and a lot of the feet and other things like the needle stopping, just didn't apply. Thank you flower for sharing all your masterpieces in various stages, because it is really nice to see that i am not the only person with half a dozen projects all on the go at once. LOL. Hi Norah! I'm so glad your starting to try out more options on your machine. Every button has a purpose. With my new machine i haven't even touched the surface, it has so many options. I too need to start reading the manual :)

I have been a coward about this. I got the templates but no pattern at the moment but keep looking at the templates and wondering if I can do it! But seeing your table mat I think I might just try one and see how I go! Look forward to the tuition ❤

Hi Maria, thanks for watching from Spain!!! The fabrics i am using in the sample are ones i have had for some time - i know it is hard to get many of the popular quilting fabrics in Europe with a reasonable price, sorry.
