To have that point total in SHL already is insane, 22 points in 25 games. It cannot be compared to all the NA junior leagues, this is against men. To put it into perspective: Rasmus Dahlin had 20 points in 41, Victor Hedman had 21 in 43 and Erik Karlsson had 10 in 45. All in the SHL, they might have been a year or two younger tho.
He def seems to be a quality player that Detroit could have great use for. It's a step up to the NHL level but after a year or two in the NHL I think he'll develop into an elite defenseman for Detroit for many years to come.
Knowing Detroit, they may have ASP with the Griffins next year until roster space is available. The only way I see him playing on the Wings next year is if the roster improves significantly. Yzerman has hid his talented young players from this dumpster fire unless contractually forced to play them. Yet, Coach McLellan coming in may change this process. If Yzerman sees McLellan as the answer, there could be an argument there to get those two acquainted sooner rather than later. Tough call, but he is undeniably a top 3 defenseman on this team, with a sizeable gap between those three and everyone else. This team isn't going to be competitive until 26/27 anyway though, so it is fine either way in my opinion.
@MaiettaSportsMedia yes but he's more the exception than the rule, and 36 games is a rather small sample size. Let's see what he's done after 3 seasons. The physical aspect of the NHL takes its toll on the body and the smaller the body the bigger the toll. But so far hutson has been good.

He has a rocket of a shot from the blue line. Very talented offensive D man

Better then you'd think playing surprisingly physical D

Don't forget about Willander
Yes
Idk ..5'10" 180 lb defenseman in the NHL....🤔🤔🤔🤔
Have you seen Lane Hutson???

Erik Karlsson is 6′0″ so not a bifgdifference. If he can pack on some more muscle there should be no problem.
