Generational is so overused. There’s only been 3 generational talents drafted in the last 20 years. Crosby, Ovechkin, and Mcdavid. No one else. We need to stop loosely using that. The kid is incredible but not generational

MacKinnon is better than him. Especially now in his prime. Sakic never had a 50+ goal and almost 90 assist season together. And this year if he stays at this pace he’ll break 100 assists. He’s got 43 in just 36 games. He isn’t gona hit 50 goals again this year unless he picks up the pace, but he’ll still have another 40 goal season. He hasn’t scored under 30 goals in a season since 2017. Besides the lockout year in 2021 when they only played 48 games, that doesn’t count. MacKinnon is better than Sakic was. I love him too, but Nate Mack is the best player in the world today, and at his peak-last year and this year-he’s better than Sakic ever was at his apex.

There is absoslutely ZERO reason whatsoever that MacKinnon is not the captain. Less than zero. It’s just stupid. Landeskog hasn’t played a game since the game they won the Cup. He is not the leader of this team. Nate is. Take the C and put it on his jersey already it’s just ridiculous at this point.

@@dazdavis7896 Nate has said multiple times that he would not wear the "C", so even if Landy retired tomorrow that would not change. He is a leader in the room, he does wear the "A", but he isnt a captain. When the torch passes it will go to Makar

@@visionquest520 Mack has something that Mcdavid doesn’t. A killer mindset

for sure, they are very different players. McDavid is a silky smooth skater, and incredibly fast. Mackinnon is much stronger, and I think he has a much better burst even if he isnt quite as fast as Mcdavid. They both make the players around them better and have great finishing ability. I think McDavid has a bit better of a shot than Nate too. They are 1 and 2 in the league and who you rank where just depends on what you value the most in a player

@@austinm247 yeah I used to describe him as a 6 foot tall Lemieux but I think this is more accurate. He’s got a tenacity that isn’t really found in many players. I don’t watch many Avs games but I don’t remember seeing MacKinnon ever lollygagging around. He’s just so electric all the time.
