Rotaries were only Twin-Rotors 13B 1300cc engines restricted to Bridge-porting. would have been allowed to use Peripheral porting he would have pushed or even beaten the Commodore !
WOW! What a great proof of why Rotaty engines are great for racing cars. In a circuit with 2 big pediods of time per lap full throttle, a much less powerful car wins by less than a sec just because in the middle sector where there is a sequence of tough corners the rotary engine diminishes understeer and helps this car gain 5 secs just in this sector. Handling over power by far! In 80% of the tracks RX7 would win by even a larger diff. A question: what is those 2 cars power output? Thanks a lot for the video.
if you look at the end of the downhill straight, youll see the rx just letting the car roll and braking way sooner than needed, so i guess maybe the rx can make an even better time, also the V8 had shorter gears, imagine the rx with those ratios and one more gear, will be even quicker.
Got to love that rotary sound, nothing compares to it except a jet engine.
Mint...can't keep watching these videos..or I'll end up searching for another Rotary...so good.
Haha buy one!

He did beat the commodore, gap was 0.11
Absolutely love the intro bro!! oh.. and the rest of the video too haha, keep it loving it!!
Haha thanks :) The audio is Andy Duffin's 3 Rotor Racing RX7
+Race Day Media
Sounds like no three rotor.
Thats only two rotors.
+blyndrotor if you read the conversation again you'll note we're talking about the audio used in the intro, not the video.

Fair enough.

The RX7 would be 270ish and the commodore astound 500ish as a guess. To be fair, a V8 won both races on the weekend, it's definitely a HP track :)
Race Day Media Totally agreed about the track helping more powerful cars. What a difference in power though!
+giorx5 it makes me wonder why the rx wasn't turbo'ed, considering the VK had a LS dropped into it.

@@Neishy4AGTE racing has rules. He probably couldn't turbo his car.
What was the top speed on the straight
Awesome handling and sound from the Rx7! So cool
Please tell me about your suspension mods or even make a video of it !!!!:)
Brilliant Rotaries
