I’m very immersed in the kilian line, black phantom, etc. I waited to try this one as I also love rose but when I smelled this I was blown away. It’s waaay out of the box for Kilian’s signature. I love that it is a bright, icy bizarre choice. It’s definitely not my favorite rose or scent but I love it for the juxtaposition between the heavy, syrupy and dark smells. It reminds me of a airy, flirty tease that fails to fully satisfy but doesn’t give a shit. Sometimes that’s a mood
I really enjoyed how honest and detailed you were in this review, it felt like a relaxed conversation. I have been wearing ozone and neon layered as my signature scent this summer, they are superb. Cheers!
Yes, that's true, real rose smells unisex actually. Besides the feminine red floral nuances, it also has darker masculine nuances. It has richness and depth. You could make a perfume just from rose due to the complexity. Most of those rosy perfumes, which are synthetic, are very bright and airy and smell pink red fruity floral. They only give you a false impression of rose.
I always get excited when I see a notification that you've posted another review for a couple reasons. The first being obvious, I just love your personality, passion, content, etc. The second, I always try to guess how you're going to feel about the fragrance in question. As soon as I saw "Roses On Ice," I just knew you weren't going to like it. Kilian Rose-Oud is downright phenomenal. Not real oud or particularly groundgreaking, but a really good take on a classic rose-oud with Kilian's boozy darkness.
I added this to my wish list and after some research, deleted it last week. Thanks for this review. I think I made the right choice. Rose is one of my favorite scents. Yes..... I have bought a few raw materials to smell. Many of them are a surprise and don't always smell "perfume-y" or even pleasant in isolation. Patchouli is one of those - very smokey, medicinal and even a bit skanky on its own as a natural oil.
Yes patchouli is an acquired taste. When I first smelled it years ago my first thought was dear god why would anyone want to smell like this. Now I love it. Dilute them too if you can. Mix it with almond oil or even alcohol or water (you’ll have to shake it before you spray it) most oils smell better diluted at 10-20%.
It's funny, before I watched this I smelled this at Saks Fifth Avenue and was immediately reminded of Toy Boy by Moschino as well!! Worth the cost? No, but I LOVE Toy Boy!

Try Aarons original ROSE fragrance its my all time favourite of his ! I have got about a quarter of a bottle left its warm and absolutely brilliant .....If you can somehow get some buy it,,,,,,,, its so classy !

Hey Aaron, I´ve heard from previous videos that you like the smell of Tom Ford Oud Wood but it doesnt last long. In my opinon, Thameen Carved Oud smells quite smiliar but has way better longevity on my skin. I´d love to see you review it!
His wife’s favorite drink is gin on the rocks. That’s what they were going for and I think they hit it on the nail. I love your reviews but I feel with this fragrance people always overlook, ignore or don’t know about that inspiration. I think they executed what they went for perfectly and anyone who is familiar with the drink should know what to expect. That may be Kilian’s fault because that’s not information that is widely available. Can’t wait for you next review, it’s always nice to hear about fragrances from the perspective of someone who deals with the chemical side of the business.
When Tom Ford developed Black Orchid he said he wanted it to smell like a mans crotch - do I need to know this to appreciate the fragrance? I don’t think that you should have to know a fragrances back story to be able to appreciate it - it should be able to stand on its own. Penhaligons make Juniper Sling, which is a gin & tonic fragrance for half the price & it actually smells better than this.

My favorite fragrance with Rose in it is Goddess. It draws me to my wife when she wears it. Zaharoff Rosé is a very close 2nd, and on the opposite end of the spectrum

It says a lot when an actual perfumer (Please forgive me if I have used the wrong term for a person in your profession) the time to educate the common ley person like myself. I love fragrances. I’m looking for a fragrance that I can wear every day (without breaking the bank). I am a fire fighter/paramedic in Texas. I am around people all day. I would like to smell great and leave a good impression when a fire fighter shows up in public when we go to educate or interact with the public as well as when we do our building inspections. I am looking for some thing that will not fade off quickly and have nice projection. I would love your input and advice. Thank you so much again.

Great review, I really didn't like this one. I sprayed a sample of it on my friend and he actually twisted his face and said urgh wtf is that. For me rose is so easy to get wrong, it either smells amazing or like a chemical plug in air freshner
This is all about the gin. They were inspired by Hendricks gin which is distilled with Rose as one of the botanicals. It’s kind of misleading to put Rose in the name because it’s kind of buried.
As a gin lover, and I do enjoy it with cucumber and rose, the reviews have left me disappointed. I almost blind bought it for the spring. Luckily, I didn’t and I still need to smell it.

People expected it to be feminine (because it released alongside Angels Share and it has Rose in the name) - it’s not. You should sample it for sure. If you’ve tried other Kilian freshies like Vodka on the Rocks or Bamboo Harmony and you like those, you will for sure like Roses on Ice.
But, a perfume should smell good on its own, without the back story. I met them both. Actually, before they were married, at Saks event in SF. Killian was a really cool, fun guy to talk to. So, that’s why I haven’t given up on the idea, that I would like this perfume. I just need to try it on skin. Still, I wish the cap was glass as well. I think that’s an Estée Lauder touch.

I was incredibly disappointed by this one as well. I believe the other one in the line, Angels Share, is much better. Although that one as well is very linear. Kilian has two more coming out in this line & I truly hope they don't disappoint.

I always try to give companies the benefit of a doubt when they sell/market things. But this seems kind of indefensible. ‘Built for cost’ is really disappointing to hear, but it seems all too common these days
I have to be carful about saying it doesn’t contain an extract in a factual way. I don’t want legal action against me. I can’t afford all of that. So I try to leave clues. That way I can protect myself but leave enough clues to allow my cleaver subscribers to know!

Great Review! I love Angels Share but I was disappointed by this. I love many of the dark boozy of Kilian but his freshies are disappointing.
