Motorcycle tank cleaning after bad coating

Our project motorcycle Kawasaki GT550 had a tank with a bad coat (liner) in it. Something that looked like Amber from Jurassic Park was in the tank.. We tried a couple of methods but nothing work until we tried electrolysis.
