Going Through Bonsai Cuttings, June 2024

In this video I go through some propagation cuttings that I have gathered from pruning some of my various bonsai trees. I go through and see what looks to be rooting out and what is dead.

Thanks! Yes that is for sure! One thing I should have mentioned is that these boxwoods come from a boxwood tree that I bought from nursery stock and I way over pruned when I was super fresh in my bonsai journey. And unfortunately that original tree didn’t make it. But luckily I threw some of these cuttings in this pot. So now in a way I get a 2nd chance on that original tree. I think that is kind of cool!

Dawn Redwood, nice roots on that big one. Good to try the those that has some green on it to see if it will root.

Sometimes they root and sometimes they do not. Always a nice surprise when they do.

Give the little one a shot and see what it does. Looks full of life, even with that short stub. Maybe this little apple cutting will put out more roots. Fingers crossed.
