  • Meet Alex Shapiro, the CEO and Co Founder of CanMonkey, a Can to Curb subscription company! CanMonkey takes your trash and recycling cans to the curb and back when they're empty; they have over 4000 Clients nationwide and gross $200,000 per Month! Alex and his Partner found a problem many Americans have and took that simple idea and turned it into a multi million dollar business! CanMonkey is the perfect solution for the Airbnb owners, vacation home owners and even for elderly family members! Through their app-enabled network of CanRunner’s, they ensure trash cans are moved to the curb and back promptly on collection day. For unexpected situations, like a guest leaving behind excess trash or a mid-week turnover, their OnDemand trash removal has you covered!
    Alex gave us insight on how he started the business, if there is seasonality with a business model like this, explained how someone can become a 'can runner', how much their best month has been thus far and what the number one factor is driving his companies growth!

    Some elderly people are afraid to step off the porches to even get to their cans. They sometimes leave garbage on the porch and ask the neighbors to put into the cans. So, is that service also possible? Take the trash to the cans then out into the street

      @@BlastOffJunkRemoval Most cities require a short-term rental permit which is public domain information meaning it's free information and can usually be found online though some cities bury the active permits on their websites. Still, the information usually exists. A short-term rental permit is usually required in each city for renting any type of housing for less than 30 days per the rental agreement, such as Airbnb, etc... The online short-term rental permit information contains the mailing address. The mailing address allows to send out advertising at the cost of a stamp which is $0.66 each.
      The cities below are used by the company in this video. This will still work in any city in the US that allows short-term rental permits.
      - Phoenix
      - Tucson
      - Flagstaff
      - San Jose

      @@dammitbobby283 and how would you get home owners?

    • @dammitbobby283
      @dammitbobby283 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BlastOffJunkRemoval Homeowners is actually a lot easier than what this video is doing targeting Airbnb, etc...
      Search Google Maps for the name of a town. That will draw a red outline around the town on the Map, now look at subdivisions outside of the town limits, and the neighborhoods that are between town and rural areas.
      Next, make sure the county (not the town) has multiple drop-off locations for garbage for people who live in the same county. Most county websites will have a list and days of the week for in-town trash pickup, make sure your neighborhood/street that you want to target for garbage pickup is NOT on the town garbage
      route.
      Once you've proven the things above do a final proof by driving through the target neighborhood every day for a full week at around 7 AM to prove that no trash cans are on the street either waiting to be emptied or already empty. If you don't find any trash cans in 7 days the neighborhood is a prime location for trash removal.
      I have other related tactics for homeowner garbage removal. I thought about making a PDF ebook that would include a lot more info along with tutorial images and related resources. These are things I'm already working on. I'm not sure If anyone else would need the info in detail or is willing to pay for it, creating detailed tutorials in a PDF file is a lot of work because there's so much info involved.

    300 cans X 2 minutes each = 600 minutes / 60 = 10hrs.
    Idk what they're charging cause I didn't watch but you'd be busting your rear all day unless you were in a tight suburban area. Could make 600 to 900 in a day I figure.

    It's a great idea, but all municipal public works departments have this service for free. All the resident has to do is call and the driver will take it out, service it, and put it back. Phoenix, Scottsdale, Peoria, and Mesa provide this service for free.

      For elderly or handicap. A more upscale town here, they drive around in utvs and get the cans out of your garage even or where ever you store it. Then put it back. Garbage truck and 3 guys.

      I have never ever heard this. So you're saying that these places you have named, will dispatch a city employee to every single home FOR FREE to take out their trash? So in a city with hundreds of thousands of people, even close to a million people, the city will FOR FREE come to their home and take out their trash??? I have been ignorant before and am not saying its untrue, but this does not sound realistic.

    • @thewhiteknight02
      @thewhiteknight02 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The city I mentioned is a suburb. No it’s on a regular route. There is a large garbage truck on the corner, a small garbage truck going up and down the street and 2 kubota utvs with two guys each. They go up and down the blocks and dump in the big truck. Going into peoples yards, garages etc and put the cans back where they got them. Our customer told us they voted and it tripled their fees/taxes for the trash service.
