Nice! I always put some of my grease tapped in-between my two fingers and then smear a light coat on all the metal parts and metal shafts the bearings and gears slide on to and even coat the full bearing this helps with stopping the corrosion from forming as my grease has rust fighters in it. That motor looks nice, I put a 80T in mine or a 75 I forgot I think this even geared low is faster than a normal type crawler. Can't wait to see it completed!
It's so hard to get a good camera angle for filming, my small shed is a pain for it. I like how they had the option to lower the gear ratio, one thing the CC-01 did not have. Tamiya do like a fiddley design and the nuts and little screws. Nice Hobyywing Combo, I did not know they did one like this.
I was pleased with the build and performance of this transmission in mine. Those big chunky gears should hold up well. I have not used one of the HW brushed motors yet but I am sure it will treat you well! I do love the 1080 ESC for sure!
With a trail truck like this I would look into the low turn five slot 550 motors .. All the low speed and high torque you can ask for but with all that high RPM when needed.. They're kind of taking over the crawler world right now.. A 10-13 turn motor was never an option for a crawler but the five slot rotor design changed the game
Thank you Phil I actually have a few of them in other trucks I have tried most setups the fusion and the Firma 2in1 combo's have been my favorite lately brushless is so smooth I just wanted to try this for something different lol
@@AdventureTimeRC Yea that fusion is nice.. These are geared high so no need for a lot of RPM but you know me lol.. 13t 5-slot on 3s! Lol..I haven't built a kit in awhile but I just bought the XVO1 Long Damper kit NIP..Should be here in a few days
@philthyco1 lol you are the more power guy from every hot rod movie 🤣😅on another note I just ordered the new redcat Danchee Ridge Runner looks interesting
@@AdventureTimeRC It's such a great high spec rig for the price.. some guy was talking trash about the original Danchee .. saying its one of the worst crawlers out of the box every made ..Of course his "friend" has one lol
@philthyco1 lol my dad has been driving his original ridge rock for 3 years I just sold mine to make room for the new one they are amazing for the price
💪 watching wrenching while wrenching nice work Brent in the the others you mentioned that have terrible performance I was always keen on the unimog 406 series what are your thoughts on that one in think it's the same chassis as your fj40
Nice build. Good catch on the dry fit. I always test fit first in case I miss a little nib or miss some small detail. Looks like that’ll be a good combo for the crawler.
It's a great job!~ Tamiya CC-02 Toyota Land Cruiser 40 Build PT-1 The Transmission!!!~~~ awesome video, and cool rc car 👍👍💯
Thank you very much my friend

The grease I got from you is working pretty good I like it hopefully the motor is slow enough if not it might go brushless

Thank you Mal I didn't know about this combo either I was surfing Amazon and saw it thought I would give it a try
Nice build so far. These oily pins wete new to me, but a very value tip.

Thank you Addam everything I have owned from hobby wing has been good I think this will be a decent truck
Hi Brent, oh yes, that takes me back 😊😊best wishes 😊
Thank you John my friend I need to get caught up on your cr01 build
Looking forward to seeing how well this crawls. HOBBYWING motors are just as good as their esc’s
Thank you Thad I'm looking forward to trying it
O yeah!! Looking forward to seeing it all finished up 🙌
Thank you very much Aaron

Great instructions! I like the idea for greasing up the pins.
Thank you very much

Excellent build brother. Enjoyed watching while I was at work.
⭐No build video's from me. Will leave that to you professionals! LoL!
Drive train is my favorite part of the build After trying it out! LoL!
Lol thank you Rob I figured it had been awhile since I did a build video

Thank you very much Trey I think it will be a good truck
When I check the completed tran's & motor I just use a "D" battery to give it a run and just swap the poles to run in reverse
Other then work any times a good time to build some COOL stuff Brother!!!!
Ralphie
Haha I totally agree
Awesome brother definitely looks well made so far
Thank you very much brother
Hello,
Great video, very interesting!👍
