Wow! I definitely love the scale look of that truck! I wish someone would make a 1994 GMC extended cab short box body so I could run a mini version of my actual truck. Cant wait to see that truck hit the trail for some scale trailing! Great work, I always enjoy your build videos! Reminds me of when I was watching Topkick Overkill plow snow for the first time! (Now thats a throwback )
Watching this channel has got me back into the rc hobby, just ordered a trail finder 2 kit with the 79 series Cruiser body, also converting my xray t4 touring car into an rc drift car and want to make a 1/10 scale car trailer for it. Thanks Medic for inspiring me back into the hobby
You ALWAYS wanna use flush cutters to separate the parts from the sprue and use a hobby knife to shave any remaining sprue plastic from the plastic pieces. The reason for this is to prevent your parts from having those ugly separation scars that will show up after paint. Some guys go another step farther and use body filler to cover up any scars and imperfections. That being said, the model kits coming out of Japan are top notch. They are very smart about where the sprues are attached to the parts and the crispness of the details are unbelievable. I'm loving the Land Cruiser build!!! Keep putting out awesome content!!
That is freaking awesome that killer bodies includes a right hand or left hand dashboard in their kit that's thinking ahead more company should do stuff like that
upstate NY. awesome video! your videos are the only ones I can watch and actually enjoy. I can spend hours watching lol been watching for 3 years. hope your move is going good ! keep up the good work.
It’s actually funny, I did a paint job on mine today... it went as you said “drastically wrong” 😂 buddy gave me some paint that was color shifting! Dope right! I cleaned up the body and rattled the hell out of the can as always but somehow failed to notice it was a spray wrap and without a base paint it won’t adhere to plastic, good news is that it wasn’t terrible to clean off and repaint but what a pain! I’m now watching this for like the third time as I wait for paint to dry. Thanks for the entertainment and the call out 😂
Hi Aron, I'm from Australia and have been watching your fantastic show for 4years. You have motivated me into the great hobby and now I have a collection of my own. Love this Aussi Build keep up the awesome work
I like the Casey Neistat style editing of this video, very slick. For the decals like the windshield decal i often submerse the decal in some warm soapy water first, then i can position the decal easier.
Wow, this kind of model is very diferrent, is like built those plastic model that you have to do almost the same process Cool!! Thanks Medic awesome Video !
I do like the metallic blue but thats verry sharp looking and is really going to pop out on the trail in the summer man verry nice job done can't wait to see it on the trail with alittle mud on it great job! 😎
Nice video short build version but very effective. I have ordered two of them one to build and use out on the trails and the other I will build and try to make as detailed and have as much moving functions as possible working steering tail gate latches all functional lights well you get the idea Just want to challenge myself to how much realistic and functional details I can achieve Thanks again for sharing this video
well done, looks close to an Australian country land cruiser ,except you need solid bull bar with bull lights, roof lights ,cb, uhf and am radio arials and truck mud flaps then you'd be cooking with gas.awesome mention to the land down under
I wish we here in the USA could buy the 1:1 truck. But I will settle for the rc hardcopy instead brother. Great video as always. You come a long way from when I first subscribed. 😃🤠
Thanks mate very informative im about to start mine with a few options and on boom racing chassis and you solved a couple of small issues for me cheers from down under
Medic, the reason that they say to cut the doors from the sprue. Is that when you use a twisting motion like you did, it can tear a small amount out of the door face. You got lucky that it didn't do that. The other reason is a got side of flush cutters will leave so little material, that just a pass or two with a file will clean it up completely.
Flush cut snips FTW!! If you have an old pair of regular snips, slap them on the grinder until the flat side is flush, and BAM - Flush cut snips. Great for cutting the ends off zip ties!! They dont leave the edge of death that cuts to the bone!!
WOW that turned out excellent, you should paint the headache rack gun metal as well, and maybe the bed trim and the inside of the bed, can wait for the first trail run.!
this has to be the best body you can buy for out of the box scale ! it beats the defender body in my opinion. think I'm going to have to order one to go on my trail finder!
As a South African, you need a bull bar front and rear as well as the tralies around the bed. You would all so need a rubber mat in the back and some scratches on the side here and there. And you need a gun holder behind the cab and a shooting seat on the back as wel.
I think this will blow your mind.. See what I did with this truck ;) th-cam.com/video/QQOItLsKpwA/w-d-xo.html. See THIS in SA ? Hope you are well, Bradda
Man, this must have taken hours and hours of both building, filming and hours of work in the editing room afterwards! But what a great result, both body and video. I remember some 1/1 Car Body designers telling they always make their prototypes in white. So if it looks good in white, it will look good in other colours too. This one surely looks good in white so it will look just as good in other colours. Great build! I enjoyed the pace and tempo of the video. Great work. Killer Body and Killer Video ;-)
This was a really cool video. Everything was easy for me to follow and with that being said, you've encouraged me to pick up a hard body kit. But what to get hmmmm hahahaa.
I haven't even watched the video yet but I have to tell you that us Aussies didn't get the bed version of the cruiser. Only cab chassis or a tray. Other than that absolutely awesome vid mate!
www.toyota.com.au/landcruiser-70 Hopefully you can get through to this page but there is the link for the Australian Landcruiser if you wants some good pics
