Well, first thing first. Thank You both for your service to our country. I could never say or do enough to express my and my family's gratitude to those who have served and their family's too. So THANK YOU! Okay this was one of the best, two guys giving each other hell and having a blast doing it. Best wishes and thanks for taking us along. Micky C
You talk about hardcore oh my I’m connecting to this guys channel now 🤙I just subscribed to Captain Wicho’s channel looking forward to seeing more videos like this one 🤙
Nice Video Capt Dan, very nice Mutton Snappers, i could sure use one of them fried with cornmeal and some fried shrimp and a bowl of cheese grits....keep up the great work Capt Dan
Enjoyed the video captain! Been watching Capt. Wicho for a while now and do agree his channel is very underrated. Great times guys happy to see content like this.
I don't know how educational the video was, but it certainly looked fun. Your comment about the traffic and the inconvenience of the accident was probably, no actually the best line I've ever heard you say. Super kudos to you Dan.
Unreal right? I would have never known those fish were right there where we all fish all the time. Technique is what made the difference between not catching and killing it. Great day on the water.
Dan,I honestly don't think I could say anything better than what all your viewers have already said! Especially to watch two great fisherman, men of honor, and respect ,thankyou for serving our country, and thankyou both for this video. THATS WHAT FISHING SHOULD BE LIKE 👍 👌 😏
Are you friggin serious!?!?!?!? Beasts!! This was a very different, but yet still exciting vid. Wish you were able to showcase a 'catch and cook' of that Porgie....man they were 'uge! See ya on the next one!! #NumberOneFan
Dan,does Luis do charter,or is he strictly a private fisherman? I've been watching all his videos ever since you guys made this one. But I just couldn't tell.
Fantastic video Capt. Dan. Those are some good sized muttons 👍 I use eel to catch them. Any type eel will work. Cut the head off, skin it and make strips to your desired length. Eel meat is tough and won't come off easily. Got some nice muttons that way. Cheers 🤙
@@FloridaFishingCouple I catch them incidentally when I am fishing in Antigua. They are also found in the Keys. They like to hang out around structure like reefs (where there are lots of crevices) and tall grassy beds where they can ambush their prey. Most active at night. If you go after them, use 50# line so you can pull them out from the crevices which they like to wrap themselves around. They also like to coil themselves up and make a great bird's nest out of your rigging. The way to stop that is slap them on your floor hard which will stun them momentarily. Then you can go about the process of prepping it for bait strips. The next time I get one, I'll record it and send to you. After cutting the head off, roll the body in dry sand or use a dry cloth (it will leave a slippery mess behind though) to peel the skin off. Fillet, then cut into strips. I usually make 6" - 8" strips and thread it on a 10.0 hook. I use a knocker rig and chicken rig. Sometimes I put some squid for the extra scent. Might as well give em a smörgåsbord 😂
Wow Dan Cpt Wicho is hard core. The Army Navy venture turned out to be the real deal. I bet you had Elizabeth rubbing that Ben gay on your arms that night. Thanks for a great video.
Should Dan or the lovely Elizabeth know of a mid to late 60's fisherwoman who can back up a boat trailer, pole a flats skiff, rebuild some old Evinrude carbs gummed up by ethanol fuel, Tie a few of the more popular saltwater flies and rustle up a decent shrimp scampi from time to time I'd be forever in your debt. Oh, it wouldn't hurt if she didn't talk too much but it's not a deal breaker. Great vid btw..
Mmmmmm, the best place I know to find what you are looking for is the Chill on Tuesday nights (Ladies Night)! Lots of eligible ladies for you to choose from! 😀
Yes, two guys catching fish, but this is not a how-to by any stretch. We didn't learn WHERE you're doing this other than somewhere in the million square miles of Florida Keys, or what you did with the chum block (depth? how long did you let it sit before dropping lines?), incoming, outgoing tide? what size hooks (J, circle?), what kind of anchor system (so you don't get snagged up and lose everything), are you 25,50,75,100 yards up-current from the target zone or on TOP of the target zone? We've all done what you're doing, but it's the little details that actually make the difference between sitting on a rocking boat all day with nothing, or pulling up 27" Muttons. Please, details.
great video Capt Dan! Best of times, looking forward to our next adventure

Thanks my friend. Glad you took the time to comment. I really appreciate that.
I could be Capt Lou’s twin book end but with a belly ! LOL white hai-white gotee with glasses on !
Should get you guys together for a photo shoot! 😂
Awesome catch! CA Wicho has it dialed in!!!
Traffic delay due to burst water main.
Yup, found out about the water main break afterwards. You still gotta admit Hwy 1 is a dangerous road for traffic. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Capt Wicho is a beast! We always look forward to watching his videos. Fun day fishing and great catch 👍 awesome video
You got that right! He’s got done great informative videos!

Great Monster Mutton Video Dan.

Love the channel. I’m retired Army so I may be biased.

Lots of local knowledge and know his stuff. Great guy to hang out with too! 😃
What a haul. The quality of fish was unreal

Incredible trip , well done !!
Thanks a lot. It really was an epic afternoon.
Army / Navy ____ measuring contest 🤣 Classic!
His measurement is always a bit longer; especially when measuring his fish!!😂🤣😂

Wow, thanks! That was an awesome and heartfelt comment! 🫡
WOW! Great trip Capt. Dan, what kind of bottom were you fishing? Dropoff, wreck what? Congrats on a great catch!
The bottom looked pretty flat with some structure and very hard bottom.
Do it again, that’s your best fishing ever I see it
We will! Fishing with Wico is awesome! Guy always catches fish!
great video! what size hook are you using ? I saw you comment that you give the line more slack once the weight hits the bottom. why is that ?
We used 5/0 circle hooks. The reason for the slack is to ensure the weight stays on the bottom, not bouncing up and down with the waves.
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Awesome stuff dude
Thanks bro! Always appreciate your comments on ours and Heikos channel. 👍

He does not charter. He’s a recreational guy like me. Lots of charter guys out there though. Let me know if you need a few names.
@@FloridaFishingCouple who do you recommend for mutton, snapper, fishing charters?

Wichoooooooo!!!!!
You know him?
Up early today or scheduled? Have a happy week!
Rarely up early unless it a Wahoo or a Swordfish day.
Does captain run charters?
No, I do not think so. You can hit him up on his channel and ask him though.
How long is your leader?
Sixty feet or more.
I only make it to the Keys once or twice a year, but when Hwy 1 gets backed up. It's a frickin nightmare.
You know it! Only way down the island and when that road backs up it’s a true nightmare!
For the traffic you need a bike!! The Hyco electric bike
Yes, the Hyco electric bike comes very highly rated!
Don’t know exactly who isn’t giving Luis accolades, but any true fisherman would take their hat off to Luis and his angling abilities.
Can’t imagine anyone disparaging Luis for his fishing acumen. He is the best fisherman I know in the upper Keys!!
Wow Dan Cpt Wicho is hard core. The Army Navy venture turned out to be the real deal. I bet you had Elizabeth rubbing that Ben gay on your arms that night. Thanks for a great video.
