    Again, with George outright casting more doubt on the timeline, this makes the book True History that much less true.
    Also, if my hypothesis is correct, about the rise of Valyria causing the Andals to cause the Long Night... it makes it seem like a sort of balancing of the world: as the empire of fire grows, the reign of ice responds... with the Long Night.

      Yes and fire is trying to rise again with Rholor. Thoros trying to turn Robert Baratheon to Rholor and Melisandre trying to turn would be heirs to the throne ie Stanis and now Jon Snow to the Lord of Light. The NK perhaps is responding to this.

    I can't express how much I wish they would've made the long night prequel

      Would it have worked though? We know how it ends. Some things are better left to the imagination sometimes

      @@ufoash1066 Do we? We know how the show ends, but not how George's books will end. It might be similar, but considering that Geogre him self have made comments in his blog that some people might prefer the show ending and others might prefer his, I doubt it will be very similar.

    Glad you did this video, its confirmation of all the timeline stuff you have been working on. Great job Alabastur!!

    Disappointed that HBO didn't move forward with The Long Night, but I'm looking forward to House of the Dragon.

    The gap of 1000 years between 5000 and 4000 years is huge and is a place[+give us the chance] to we make a lot of crazy theories about the Long Night

    Alabasture keep up the good work. I know u don't have a big following yet but your videos are every bit as good as some of the main stream GOT youtubers. Ive been following you now since maybe May or June of this year and love the vids u produce. I just wish there were more.

      Thanks! I'm always eager to make more videos on theories. I have too many pre-written scripts that were meant to just be Reddit posts, but videos seem to the way to go for me.

    Man, it always annoys me when I hear about Martin saying there will be other shows and projects. This guy needs to finish those books before he passes away. I can imagine all the controversy book readers will have between each other if he doesn’t give definite answers to things before he’s gone.

    I know if these books are finished this theory will be confirmed by the end. These theories of yours are amazing and entertaining

    I think the original timeline or should i say timelines may have been continuity errors when George originally wrote the books. I think as time goes by and more of the prequels come out it will get cleaned up a bit. Its amazing to me how in depth george is as a writer. There are not many errors. He thought of everything as he was writing these books.

      Yeah, whether or not the Andals were in Westeros by the Long Night, I would just be glad to get more answers about the first Long Night in the prequel.

    What does this means? the Masetoes the says that Andals come 6000 years also some says 4000 years. Others says 2000 years ago.

    • @ASoIaFTheorist
      @ASoIaFTheorist  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This just means that the Long Night could have happened after the Andals arrived, if they arrived 6,000 years ago. Of course, the Andals could have arrived way later, as some maesters believe, but I think my videos present evidence of the Andals being there before the Long Night.

    What accent is that? The long night is: the ylong-uh night

  • @arronjerden915
    @arronjerden915 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you go on the theory that the long night is a natural event caused by the odd tilt of the axis of this world then perhaps there is one ever 5000 or so years and in the past 5000 years the history of the last long night has turned into myth and has mixed with the myths of the one before it so completely that the fact that there were 2 long nights since men came to Westeros has been lost to history.

    Lol the Valyrian Empire wasn’t around during the long night, I think you misinterpreted that quote. Also, all of this is George basically doing promos for a show he won’t be working on so *shrug*

  • @thanosalaarson8290
    @thanosalaarson8290 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So the long night happened 5k years ago? Then he’s invalidating the lore and mysticism built into the story? That’s incredibly cheap and disappointing. Forget the story then.
