In this episode of Cabin in the Woods we start by framing the second story deck. Once done with the deck framing we finished the house wrap on the entire structure and started prepping for the Versetta Stone Siding.
Instead of making this video super long, I broke It up before we started installing the Versetta Stone siding. That will all be in the next video so stay tuned and follow along if that interests you! It looks amazing.
Also, at the end of the video, I show you a couple snip tricks and how we install our jamb trim on our overhead garage doors

For me, the ideas in th-cam.com/users/postUgkxy_pn55PK60wAV3X_C_RoLS_67mNonoCE Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.
I love how clean your sites are kept! That’s not something you see from most contractors. Definitely a compliment to the quality of your work.
Thank you! we try to never leave a mess at the end of the day...sometimes it is unavoidable
i guess it's kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Bridger Cedric flixportal xD
@Rodney Patrick thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I appreciate it!
@Bridger Cedric You are welcome =)
Thanks for all these 20+ segment builds, but it's always funny to see these on YT after seeing so much further progress on IG.
Only a week behind
Looks great. Quality workmanship all around.
Awesome the way you and Greg work together.
Favourite series on TH-cam
When your talking about your self and some one else . You are mentioned last. It it's Greg and I. My wife and I, my Mom and Dad and I. At lease ihats how I was taught way back when. Love the project and your progress.

Most useless and idiot comment of youtube
btw excellent videos im a retired 40 yrs in the trade guy tks
4:13 "ROCK YOUR BOOOODY! BACKSTREETS BACK ALRIGHT!" 🤣🤣 Picturing Greg as a Backstreet Boy doing all the dance moves 🤣🤣🤣
Nice to see Greg taking over the reigns for the trim pieces👍🏻 The student has become the Master😁
I saw that and had the same thought.
Perfect Sunday evening viewing time here in London, Kyle! 🇬🇧 😁
Enjoyed watching your video
Great video it is so beautiful the work you do thanks for sharing brother
Everything is looking great...onto the next video.
Love that every build is different, this one is really interesting. Cool guys!
Nice. It'll be great to see windows and Versetta Stone getting installed. Keep on trucking gents.
New to your channel, just starting to build a pole barn and doing some research. Never built a pole barn before and don't have a lot of cash to do it with but I'm going to make it happen. :)
First, 2nd.... Doesn't matter what place, love watching the videos!!!
Looking good. That Versetta stone will sure look nice. Thanks for another great video. Looking forward to seeing the next one!
I was sitting on the toilet watching this when I sadly realized it was only 11 minutes. Back to work I guess. Can’t wait for the next one!
Haha
Greg is doing craft work, I like to see the student improves. Great work Kyle & Greg
Hi there fellow vloger 🤙.Love your vlogs. Exstreamely entertaining and educational. 😍 I just Subbed your channel. Showing my fellow vlogers some much deserved love all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦. Keep them comming please 👌
Great job 👏🏽 I just left it like 👍🏽
As always great job!😁
Enjoying the show
I once had a boss (that I followed through three different companies) that had mad skills in several General Construction trades as well as Skilled- it was a little frightening seeing him on a job- a perfectionist, a straight, fair dealer, and a workaholic. It took three years of his chaffering and nudging me before I realized he didn't hate me or belittle me, he was trying to push my potential as far as I would go. I went to work for him, just a damn good plumber; six years later, I was a skilled, certified HVAC tech for everything from houses to buildings, did my own related electrical work (according to Code and Texas state law), and a better plumber. Greg is a good ways down that path- that says good things about you both.
On another note, you need to call the Goonzquad- they are talking an 80 x40 x20 "garage" with a stone and brick motif- on a piece of Tennessee mountainside. Those little things you do, they add to the long term quality and good feeling your projects seem to always have.
Yes the goonzquad build! Definitely look into this Kyle
Kyle is probably really busy...and probably wants to start working before 2PM every day.
@@KeithDiSarno I'm guessing he wasn't very busy when he, with Gregg and about eight other hands went to build Jimmy Diresta's Maker Heaven. Presently, Kyle is working solo with only Gregg- I guarantee he makes more money from jobs that run with eight guys- he can't bid up the job hours for a two man deal and be anywhere near competitive.
I have a similar story. My boss was really anal about dimensions and angles and stuff (food industry fabrication). Made us really strive to have perfect work and it usually paid off in the field. When they finally closed down, I went to work at a place that made railing. You could get away with some sloppy stuff there. Well, I was still a perfectionist. Even after only working a few months, the installation crews said they loved installing my work because it was on the money. The other 2 fabricators, I guess, would always need a bit more work to make fit or even had to bring it all the way back to the shop to fix. I could've let me quality slip because "it's just railing", but I wanted perfection. I have that previous boss to thank for instilling that mindset
Another great one.
I just saw a clip of Kyle doing a corner detail on ifunny, no way to know it was him, I just recognized the style. All the comments said it was really satisfying to watch.
Haha yeah stolen content all the time
I like your work !
Great video guys, building looks brilliant well done
6:34
Greg: Yeaaaaa I get to cut something😂
haha
If you keep your worksite tidy, you will also have a better use of your materials. Greetings from Norway Koos
Muito bom os seus videos
Ótimo trabalho ....parabéns ...está ficando perfeito!
Was just catching up on the music garage video and this one dropped........ Great timing......
7:34 Gregs super power is precognition.
Greg and I is the subjective (performing the action) onto Greg and Me the objective (receiving the action). However, GOOD JOB on "Most Wrong guy" as opposed to wrongest guy. Worst guy would be fine too.
Крутой мастер!
Приветствуем Вас!
От нас лайк и удачи! 👍
@rrbuildings i love the videos....i learn so much from you ......BUT you are such a perfectionist with your work but why oh why are your videos not in a numbered order to follow....😭
Hi can you tell me which equipment is better for you? I am asking for the screwdriver. Festool or Metabo. Or something else. I am your member and I follow yours videos. This is amazing what are you doing. This buildings are amazing, simple and practice.
Bendecida noches
Good afternoon from St John Parish, Louisiana 25 Oct 20.
Thats money right there..
Is that a cordless jumbo nailer? Wow!
Cordless metal connector
Fucking awesome.
👍😁
1:02 The coffee kicked in, believe it or not the next few minutes are in slow motion. Once it wears off it's back to normal human pace.
Kyle I am in the process of buying a nice ranch. Need a pole building. All seriousness if I payed to fly you guys here to Montana supplied everything would it be something you would entertain. Just asking your workmanship is awesome.
👍
Hmmm. 3:40am., should get to bed. Hey, what's this? Cabin fever!
Kyle,Are you having trouble getting materials ? I have some decks to do and cannot get treated lumber here in PA. I did find one lumber yard that had some but they jacked the price up about 3x what it was. Wondering how this is affecting your schedule and profit margin. Nice building man.
I’m sure it will at some point
How do you figure how many screws and nails you need for a project? Or do you just buy them a few giant boxes at a time
Awesome channel. Your videos inspired me to attempt my own barn build, but I decided to start with a smaller structure as practice for the big one. The building is 20' x 12' with a 3/12 one-pitch roof with a 1' overhang around the perimeter. I put down the standard 36" ribbed steel roofing today and as I fastened the last piece (ripped down to 12" wide), I realized that the major rib falls right where the rake trim edge will be along that side of the roof. Is there a fix for this short of unscrewing the whole roof and repositioning it? Thanks in advance for any help you or any of your viewers can provide.
Completely off topic - but as you're a metal roofing expert - what should I do if I want to repaint an old metal roof?
Hire someone who understand the proper prep... a good paint job on metal is all prep
Does that felt trap moisture behind the house wrap or is that housewrap still able to breathe with that felt on there? Just asking a question I don’t know if it does or doesn’t just wanted your opinion about it. Thanks ✌️
What’s the facing gauge for hardiplank called the orange one you use
Hey Kyle, I’ve been super and I don’t have the time to go and look through all of the precious videos. But could you shoot me the info on the calculator that you use to get the angles using rise and runs? Bobby
Ya'll are not far from the Amish. Use THOU and THEE and you will have all your bases covered. 😉 Suggestion: Put the expert on the chimney, it looks like a real puzzle in some places. 👍
If you do the chimney yourself you'll become the expert. Better than just paying someone and never challenging yourself.
any flashing details on those beams, or just housewrap?
I think So there should be a weather proofing ( zip tape ) between the house wrap and black sheet
Hey Kyle I went to your store wanting to buy a basic crew shirt and no sizes for fat guys (3x) will there be that size in the future? Thanks and as always building is looking killer 👍
Do what I can bud thanks
I bought the Dewalt 18 gauge stapler, what size and brand staples do you use for installing the soffit?
I really enjoy your videos. Question , how long does it take to construct the shell portion of a building?(with just the two of you) just an ordinary 40x60shop?? a week?a month?
Is Greg chafing? I used to walk like that when I chafed.
Probably leg day
Where can u get extra rubber flanges that go on every stone ?
Hey Kyle where do you buy your Aluminum flashing rolls from? ABC or where ? And did you get a hand on the new Makita 40V system by chance? It is called Makita XGT line all with 40V Battery packs now.
Have not touched the makita yet... my coil comes Thru metal sales
What’s the difference between a balcony and second story porch? I’m still confused as I was from the start.
It’s Greg and I. If you are ever in doubt remove the second person and try the sentence that way.
Ah, the grammar rules that were drummed into my head in high school come flooding back to me! We must both be old dogs, since I don't think that grammar has been taught in schools for better than 20 years now.
@@theElderberryFarmer Not only is proper grammar not taught in schools, but social media and constant use of acronyms is destroying decent verbal communication. I've always said, simply use "ur" for either version (your, you're) is acceptable. Just like their, they're , there. It amazes me how many people can't understand the difference. NEWayz have a great weekend everyone!
That is correct. Nominative case. “I am ready to take it easy for the weekend “ vs. “Me is ready to take it easy for the weekend 😠.” Kyle, grammar is very mathematical...it never lies 😁.”
Is that a battery powered placement gun? What brand I’ve never seen one?
Fasco... or beck
How do you work with all that kit hanging on your waist that would drive me mad
How do you decide when to use a nail gun vs hammering nails with a hammer?
Simple: if there isn't enough room for the gun, it's hammer time.
How think should a 11 x 24 concrete slab be for a 14 x 24 metal shed to sit on without cracking the concrete?
Ask an engineer. It depends on many factors such as soil type, intended use (machine shop, residential, heavy storage etc). Reinforced vs stressed, etc. So there is no universal rule.
@@1971merlin thanks
If there's going to be any brick used for the fireplace, may as well have a chimney guy set a foundation with rebar and simply build a real honest fire place with heat vents and fire resistant system. The is no point in any fireplace less than this idea as most of the pre-fab double lined metal fireplaces cannot compare to a real brick/rebar-steel and mortar system. Also, it's best to include a raised hearth of about 4 to 6 bricks so that folks can sit in front of the fire and the fire is raised to radiate throughout the room as hearths down on the ground don't offer this convenience and performance. Yes, they are more money but there just isn't any comparison we have found.
I wonder if your house wrap is available in dark colors vs. white.
Why aren't you using triple wall piping in the chimney? Much safer!
I’m not the contractor and I don’t have that knowledge
Triple Wall is old school. We use double wall insulated piping now.
Really work program to make a coop
Grants pink shirt is cute. Do they make them for men?
Greg jokes about finding you redoing his work, but we know it’s true 😅
"You're a life saver. I don't care how much time you spend in that Porta-potty" HAHA, my buddy and I would say a similar thing! *Helps* "Man, you're the best! I don't care what [other coworker/ boss] says about you!" Usually it was the name of whoever was in ear shot. The other person would just laugh. Good times
All the tools you have ,yet no palm nailer?
10:07 Must’ve been arm day. Or lighting was just right day.
that fast forward segment of the nailing sounded like a very poor running John Deere two cylinder.
😃👍🏻👊🏻
Breaking news!
Greg cutting metal!
if i may ask; what does the r's stand for?
remus haynes Rural Renovations. I think. LOL
Smart to name this ‘cabin in the woods’ While it should be named ‘very, very big barn in the woods’.
It’s not a barn... far from it
Simple way to remember whether to use me or I is what you use if there was only one of you. If you said "I am going home", then you would say "Greg and I are going home"
Looks like the rain water goods have been fixed, not in the way I hope. Not your job ?
why did u go back to gas? not feeling the milwaukee ?
This is a joist gun nailer not framer
@@RRBuildings oh man i should open my eyes. I didnt see the hangers. nice work !
Hey Kyle do you realize fb adds are using your footage? DIY crafts i think it is
Not surprised... Facebook has been crazy
@7:16 haha did that really happen?
When it comes to whether "Greg and I" how to know if it is correct or not? You test it by removing the first person from the sentence , like this. "Greg and I went to the store" ("I went to the store") CORRECT. And not like this, "Greg and me went to the store" ("Me went to the store") WRONG. It works the other way too because sometimes Greg and me is correct. "That event had a profound affect on Greg and me". ("That event had a profound affect me") CORRECT. Not, "That event had a profound affect on Greg and I" WRONG, because you would not say, "That event had a profound affect I."
interesting I have never heard it that way...
@Danny Harris I can never get effect and affect sorted out. I always get it wrong so I switched it and it was wrong again.
@Danny Harris learning, its not what you’re saying, but how you say it. Make sense. Greetings from Norway Koos
Been wonder about that for 40 years. Thanks.
Building and English lessons at the same time 😎
💯👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍❤️
what happened to Cabin in the Woods Part 21
It was not labeled 21
Sir I need a job...
Can i go there plz
I'm laughing because I never considered that the title was "cabin". I'm still getting used to the post frame concept. Haha.
When Greg stopes and looks at something I wonder what is wrong?
Greg’s hair is looking pretty fly. His calves not so much.
4:14 is Greg singing backstreet boys?...........
I think
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😂
