Because although it was under her leadership their leadership that the American era officially started, what does any of that really matter when the damage done as a result of her practices so heavily outweigh the accomplishments?

The one thing I don’t get about your comment is that the parents of athletes were in the room when the child was molested and they had no clue. This whole situation makes everyone’s head spin.
Seriously, I think you people should stop watching competitive gymnastics. Having your athletes compete against each other is not a bad thing. Rewarding the top gymnast with attention is not a bad thing. I agree that the Karolyi's probably needed more education about nutrition. Different athlete's respond to different methods, it's up to the athlete and parent to find what works for them. Look at Strug she went back to Bela, but her parents made clear that she was not a 14-year-old child and that they would have to treat he as such. I also think there's a twinge of sexism in your opinion. These little girls can't handle tough training and because someone yelled at them when they were 15, they are scarred for life.
What a shitty comment. The US team was good in 2020 but they based the whole team selection around Simone. Simone made the best choice for herself but to say the team was fat while still winning a silver and having another athlete win the All Around and other member winning event medals you need to take a seat. You couldn’t do what they did.

Martha was tough but she got things done! I hate she had a system that made gymnast feel low if they messed up. She could’ve really done great things!

usa got silver at 2020 (2021) olympics, not because simone got the spins, but because they were way too fat, minus MyKayla Skinner.
