Love this idea! Do students ever have to give you a blurt bean in the middle of a lesson or carpet time? That's when my kids are blurting the most but I fear stopping to have them go get a blurt bean would be more disruptive. What are your thoughts?
I personally think it would be disruptive during a lesson for students to go get a blurt bean and put it in a jar-it would interrupt the flow of your lesson. I would just firmly say to that student “you owe me a blurt bean” (and remember to get it from them later). Great video. I haven’t heard of this before.
Yes sometimes i say “you owe me a blurt bean” or i say this is your warning please don’t shout out you don’t want to lose a bean, or if I may have them give it right then if I think it necessary.
I love this idea and am looking forward to trying it! Are there any consequences if a student loses all 5 beans and still continues to blurt afterwards? Maybe take a bean out of the class jar?
You all prolly dont care but does someone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Sylas Marlon i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
How do you prevent kids from taking too many beans to refill their cups or taking beans from the teacher box and adding them with their beans to the incentive jar? Do you monitor the bean rotation or is it honor system?
I know this question was not directed towards me but I would monitor the students... I know trust is good to have but they aren't at the age to know better and they might have "sticky fingers" even if they do know better. Tht was a great question. Wht is your opinion on this matter?
I know this is an old question but I would do the honor system until someone broke it. The kid that got caught "cheating" the system would get a different color of beans. You could spray paint them.
That is the most challenging things in my class. The students keep talking and im out of my voice trying to have their attention. Most of my students are boys.
This is a wonderful idea! I have students who are very engaged in learning, but sometimes too engaged! Thanks for going through each part so clearly.
I am new to your channel and a new teacher. Love your energy and your tips. Really thinking about implementing the Blurt Beans on Monday.
Oh my goodness, this is fantastic! Thank you!!
I have started watching some of your videos and I love them. I wish you were still posting videos! I just followed you on Instagram.
Great idea. I found you on Instagram and now I’m here on your channel 👍🏼
Thank you for watching!
Love this!!
Doing it right now !!!
What else can we use besides beans?
What about when they’re on the carpet? That’s when mine blurt the most. Do they bring their beans to the carpet?

Hi I'm new to your awesome channel. Where did you get your posters for the 7 habits.
I found them on pinterest a while ago. Most have been taking down because of copyright.

Hi, No I do not monitor them. I personally have too much going on at the end of the day to monitor them. I go by the honor system.
Just trust your kiddos and if do end up finding that someone is being dishonest they lose their beans :) Thats at least what I would do.

Such a great idea!
Thanks
I wonder if this would work for tattling? We have a lot of that .
It could. I would try it and see :)
blurt beans sound good to me.
I'm trying this
That's a good idea

Another useful tip that won't work for SUBSTITUTE teachers in MIDDLE school.
