Played this a few times today. Our anniversary date - but my dear husband passed away last September. We had over 53 wonderful years - enjoyed sunshine even in the rain!
This song sung by Roy Clark on the Country's Family Reunion of the remaining Hee Haw cast members in May 2011. It was a fitting last song sung by Roy and could have been dedicated to all the cast in attendance. Sadly, several of the senior cast members passed on shortly after the reunion. Hee Haw was a wonderful show and there will probably never be one like it again.
I was a loyal viewer of Hee Haw from 1969 until the last episode...1991 or 1992. I saw every episode when new!! Yay!! It was funny and tons of classic country songs. RFD channel has the show every Sunday.
Look at his britches. LOL. I never, ever, missed an ep of Hee Haw, and remember this ep. I always loved that show, and liked this song and Honeymoon Feeling. He also sang "I'll Paint You a Song" beautifully, and did so on one episode of Hee Haw.

my mom said she met him walking into a bar in Florida back in the early 70s. She said he sighned autographs but said he was a cousin to Roy. no one believed it but still had a good time.

Good times and memories. Only 16 at the time, but country was so real then.
