Thanks for this. I'm fitting a new bathroom suite and the waste pipes for the bath and hand basin are currently on view. Although neater I didn't fancy cutting notches in the joists so will take this approach. Great clear video 👍
Nice one Mark, especially leaving obvious access for the future. The flat we rent was renovated by our landlady's brother, a fantastic builder who cleverly and elegantly concealed each and every fixing. It's a right pain though when anything needs investigating/repairing, I have to try and reverse-engineer his thinking in every case and inevitably it's never the same twice. First world problem I suppose... Cheers.
It’s amazing how often this happens. I’m currently building a raised decking area with the drainage access points underneath. I’ve built a frame to support the access point should the need arise in the future. 👍
@@argonaut6386 Technically yes, and I do farm out the occasional jobs that I'm not confident with (electrics & any major plumbing). The brother is now sadly incapacitated due to aggressive cancer. We're all friends, we pay way below current market rent for London, and if I can make any necessary repairs a) I'd rather save her the money and b) it's all on the learning curve for me. Good luck with the job! Cheers.
@@theswime945 Ah that makes perfect sense now. Nice to hear about a happy tenant and landlord situation as it seems far from the norm these days. Thanks for replying 😃.
I purchased one of those profile gauges about 6 months back. What a simple but fantastic addition to the tool bag. Great job in a tight space 👍
It really is a good addition to any tool bag.

👍
I’ve done these before & used white uPVC trim for a cleaner, maintenance free finish.
Great job, well done!!

Just out of interest, if you're renting surely any issues are the land ladies responsibility and not yours ?

That was a tight squeeze Mark. Glad that you are skinny! The profile jig was very useful.
I’m not that skinny 😜
Splendid job mark ! I wouldn’t have fit in there, never mind been able to build the boxing in 🤣🤣
Yes it was an extremely tight squeeze. I didn’t eat for 2 weeks just to fit in there 🤣🤣
Why did you take it so high out of curiosity
Mate where you from?
Dorset south coast of uk.
Hi, I have only just seen your video. Great job. Do you work in any other areas like Birmingham?
I wouldn't be happy with that finish. Looks very amateurish.
I hate working in these little tiny spaces! 👍 🙄
Yes it makes it hard work
