Hey Baradul, loving the daily dose videos! After the skill tree change I tried an Urbanmech (R60) with AC/2, @MLAS and an XL145 engine. It's a super fun build and I seem to do at least as well in it as when I am using "better" 'mechs.
Can testify - my IIC is squishy. Totally fine if I can stay out of the line of fire. I must admit though it's a brand new mech (cheapest way to get some clan color schemes) - so it doesn't have much in the way of SP - I think it's at 6/91 ;)
Lohengrin The Oxide doesn't hit quite as hard and it lacks jump jets, but it's somewhat harder to kill than the IIC version, partly due to the Oxide's structure quirks. Also, IS SRMs do 7.5% more damage per missile and have a somewhat tighter spread.
I dunno, the counterpoint to that is don't machine guns and flamers get a huge number of multipliers in terms of pure damage to unarmored components? It's not impossible for a light hunter to run a bunch of those just to help leg lights with those easy to hit weapons, therefore armor'd be the better choice.
No, that's not the case at all. It's like 50% more if you do the math, less with hardened casing (it's based the crit damage). And most people don't run machine guns. It's a fact that your quirked defense should get the bonus. So if you have bonus armor, get that. If you have bonus structure, get that. Oxide has huge structure quirks so it'll become very tough.
Sounds like you drive a VW. :P Also, I'm having the same salt with the pug teams lately. So many lrms, so much polar highland, and so much willingness to just stand there and eat the missiles.
Iron oxide might be my new favourite offensive light mech. SRMs+jump jets+speed equals just crazy skirmishing. The Original jenners are just totally useless/inferior to me now
That first match was awesome!
Also, I didn't realize how squishy the Jenner was
That was nice with the Catapult, one comment, one salvo, one kill.
Loved the in-game chat in the first game. Baradul: Not just a guy :D
Hearing a master mech mechanic like you talking about engine problems in another mode of transport was oddly humbling somehow. God bless.
You definitely need the XL 260 for another ton of ammo. After all 129kph is still blazin fast.
Diesel Injection Leaking? Time to change to XL 400 Molten!
No good. If the side of the car get breached the XL will leak. XD
LMAO.

Speaking of lights you should run Urban-R60 max survival tree, it's pretty much a light heavy mech.
Running STD160+speed tweak will net you 90+kph.
5:09 Got that reference. XD
That second match was like herding kittens!
Want an Oxide with JJ? Get a Jenner IIC ;)
Only the hitboxes on the IIC are even worse. Squishiest light mech in the game, even with full survival tree.

I agree I'm not happy with the Polar Highland map at all anymore because of all the lrms. It's especially painful for Domination.
Pug drops can be very frustrating! Great show Baradul. I hope you made it to vacation! Any plans to check out a KGC-000 or KGC-0000 with new skills?
Molten, which Marik group were you in when you got your second-place flag? I have one myself; I was with the 4th Regulan Hussars for a long time.
The "Molten Metal Militia" of course :)
Nice!
what's the benefit from the oxide vs the IIC version with srms?

You should run structure on the jenner. It has quirks so you'll get a couple extra points if you invest in it.

Lurms has always been a big thing in MWO but now it's just ridiculous. Don't forget lots grim plexus too.
Iron oxide might be my new favourite offensive light mech. SRMs+jump jets+speed equals just crazy skirmishing. The Original jenners are just totally useless/inferior to me now
Pgi really needs to buff the legs of the Javalin, their legs are just way too long to have that little of armor..
That 3 ER LL Raven, facepalm. :)
its a simpel o ring. what car do you own???
I need to buy this mech... Still the Javlin is decent.
Fingle the Potato rofl.
i use a xl 255 and my arms srms are srms 6, makes it letal
o7 jenner ram ftw!
that hit reg on the javelin... how annoying
Free event LBK-Prime loadout request! Maybe SRM6 without artemis or SPLs?
wait, can the enemy team talk to you still? 10:30
