.My old Man's friend asked me if i had head of you, then sent me this song today..We went round, suffice to say, I have sent this on to my Grandson..Played this a few times, and well God bless you ..this song says it all..God bless you🙏🙏🙏
In 1979 I lost a friend to an explosion in a polyethylene plant in Freeport Texas. I’ve worked in these plants all my working days. This song hits me and those like me deeply🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I just wanted to take a second and let you guys know how much this song means to me. Even before all the craziness happened, this song was always on me and my brother's drinking playlist. I work in the oil field on a drilling rig. And he was a pipe fitter or an outfit working the refineries in Houston. My baby brother was killed last year in a refinery in Houston. An accidental poisonous gas release. When you talk in your song about breathing the poisonous fire. That's literally how he was taken from us. We played this song at his funeral. And I still listen to it when I want to really get into my feelings and remember and think about him. I'm not going to lie. It's hard to make it through the whole song sometimes. I've spent my whole life, and my brother gave his life, trying to keep the wolves away.
The best, best, best story ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a better man for seeing this play out.... my favorite song in the world come full circle... watching you refuse to capitalize on it..... the rewards for you are well deserved my friend!!! My dad was a pipe fitter for altair construction out of houston in 1988.... he was fortunate like your dad!!! Thanks for being a good dude!!!!
Kevin Galloway is great with this wonderful song, and the storytelling before they play, but also take note: that's Mark William's on the cello - the beautiful cello. Together, they lift this song to new heights.
Dude ... My 21 year old son introduced me to this song and until today I never knew the true story behind it. I just want you to know not only do I LOVE this song but so does my 76 year old grandma and my 8 year old granddaughter. You are amazing!!
