I'm so glad my wife appreciates/respects my hobbies. She doesn't share all my interests, but she understands how much I like them (plus, she does genuinely enjoy seeing any new mini I've painted)
I feel for the lad who messed himself. He sounded more like an average unkempt geeky dude rather than Hobby Nightmare fuel, and as you say, someone could be caught short and it's one of those things where if it were to happen there isn't really any rowing back from it with your dignity 100% intact. It really sucks that he felt like he couldn't go to that store again, he must have been deeply embarrassed.
Once I was walking home from school in high school. Felt natures call rather suddenly and intensely. I started running home, I made it to my steps and as soon as I lifted my leg for the first step I shit my pants. It was bad.
24:40 Ah, so she was playing hard to get, and didn't expect the no-means-no-reaction and got her ego hurt over being taken serious the first time, because she wanted to be chased - then does the projection accusation later on that you were relentlessly chasing her as punishment. It's always projection with these types. Always. Always check whether the exact opposite is true in some fashion, and you will always strike gold with these types of people, no matter male or female. This very type of story a good friend of mine went through as well, and that was an absolute nightmare, because the girl in question was a complete psychopath who regretted the next day that she had, while drunk herself, taken unprotected advantage of him being totally sleep deprived, and did it without protection. She wanted to destroy his life solely because she did something unbelievably dumb, and such people can't ever take responsibility for their dumb or evil actions, because then they would not be perfect in their own eyes. They can't ever be wrong, everything they do is good, so they have to twist it that whatever happened was somehow the fault of the other. He only even heard of there having been an issue with anything two weeks after the event, and the psycho had, together with her equally vile and crazy bestie, burned his only mementos of his late father, while he was at work. People like this just want to destroy you so completely that you delete yourself. They don't put bullets in your heads or poison your coffee, they drive to the edge and make you jump or Cobain yourself - that is the only true perfect crime there is, for nobody asks who did it, because you obviously did it to yourself. We also believe she wanted an excuse to dump him as she got bored with him, but the entire aftermath is worth a small book, and probably not for this comment section.
I wouldn’t assumed too much with the being caught short story people like us with IBS and Crohn’s can get caught out . It’s not a nice thing to live with, and sometimes you can’t help it .
If someone has to say "Can't handle me at my worst, don't desrve me at my best" all the time is a massive red flag. Cause they are at their worst all the time. Run from these types of people. Cause they need to learn to be at their best more often before people should put up with and forgive their worst sometimes. If you're at your worst this much then your best isn't worth it.
27:50 The mother shouldn't have dumped him there in the first place. The anti-discrimination excuse also doesn't fly here. This is someone with a mental illness on a level that requires supervision. His mother dumping him there, or letting him go anywhere, is simply neglectful at best and malicious at worst, as this will have happened in countless other places - and the furious oedipal mom who thinks her sunshine can't do any wrong, and people are just mean and whatnot, just as in those previous stories, blames everyone else for her own failure. "How dare you do not take my misbehaviour well!" - Dumping this guy anywhere is just a ticking time bomb. To discriminate is to discern, and we must discern between acceptable and inacceptable conduct. When someone can't control himself, there's also a spectrum of what kind of ticks we accept, like twitching fingers or sudden neck movements, and ticks we don't accept because we can't, like this that constitutes perpetual s. harassment. Same goes for the guy who was all touchy with everyone - or a girl doing the same. Here's a hypothetical: Do I have to accept the one who has a compulsory tick to stab the air with a knife at random? Am I discriminating against that person? Hell yeah I am, because that's dangerous. The underlying mechanics are the same, but the action those mechanics are loaded with is unacceptable in a public, unsupervised place. Such a person shouldn't even have a knife. And before you go with that being too hyperbole: Our GW-store had an ADHD guy in his early 20ies, who's therapist apparently wasn't much good (no self-organization skills), who had little happy-manic moments and at two times was playing out a scene, one just out of anger towards an abusive story he's heard, taking out his carpet-knife, blade out, and making a lunge-stab-motion through the length of half the store. It's not a big store by the way, so if there had been more people that might have really been dangerous. He also had bouts about telling with high and vile emotion what horrible gory things he wanted to do with the bad people of two of his friends who went through abuse stories, neither who likes to hear these things, because when you've been through certain horrors, you don't want a mental picture resembling a John Carpenter or Kronenberg movie. You're already dealing with horrors that haunt of similar nature and don't need reminders of that. He could not understand that he was causing harm, because in his mind, it was a good thing to say these things against the bad people. And no, he was not autistic. I am. These conditions are not the same and don't overlap all the time (the amount of co-diagnosis of these two is a product of laziness or incompetence at the hands of those making the diagnoses. While they can co-occur, the number in practice of that happening is a fraction of what is overdiagnosed in the field).
That Chris is such an idiot. Even if the first drinks would be just as friends, it is a great opportunity to get to know her better, and see where it goes eventually. Maybe she grows fond of you in a couple of months and realizes that she would like to get involved romantically, maybe you just get an awesome friendship out of it, with somebody who is clearly fond of the hobby you like. Going out, just as friends, does not mean it has to stay that way.😂 Also, Sorry Lisa, if you are reading these comments, but it's not nice seeing people spread rumors about you, while you did the best you could to save their feelings and make sure you were absolutely clear on your position.
Men and wemon have almost the same agression levels. They just express it in different ways. Men's agression tends toward physical and lasts a short period of time. This why you can see guys get into an argument get in a physical fight and be good friends after. Women's agression tends toward reputation destruction and lasts longer. This is why there are more female firend groups that are constantly backstabing each other. Again these are what is common and not 100% for each individual. Humans are not a monolith.
I don't know how things are in the UK but in the US and Canada a manager who learned about would in most states and provinces be legally obligated to kick the guy out.

It’s the cat or the human. Easy choice
