Mains power is clean. Not sure if the input channel, probe, or wave generator is noisy. I was hoping the unit had a bandwidth limit filter, but it doesn’t seem to have one.

    Disappointment (very) with this scope I own this unit (new 2021) about 6 months and used for 2 months then it Ch2 became out of calibration - the zero is off by 150mV when use the "zero" button. The reading also lower than Ch#1 by about 46% when I connect the same probe to the square wave test output post of the scope. I used the calibration function(found in Utility bottom) and it came back with error code : 511d6. I also downloaded the latest software from Hantek. It did not improve and same error code. Tried email to Hantek service .

    I don't know why there is no mention of an output tone from the Signal Generator.... I know that the generator outputs a sine-wave because I can see it on the scale... but is there also a signal tone for a radio speaker that you can physically hear from a speaker ? I'm trying to do a shortwave radio alignment and I need to physically hear the 455Khz signal tone from the generator.

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Thomas, never though of that, you can for sure connect the output to a speaker and listen the waveform output, I did the inverse, connecting the output from the line output from the PC and analyed the signal being generated (music). You just need to take care about the voltage. Thanks for watching.

    Bought the DSO2D15 model, only months later I discovered it has Trigger Level problems with signals below 300 mVpp. I did all the firmware updates, still the traces run on the display, no way to stop them. Things get worse if you keep the oscilloscope on for more than ten minutes. Then, if you select a 50 mVpp sine wave with the internal signal generator, the image is strongly noisy, distorted.
    I contacted Hantek several times, they wanted a video of mine showing the issue. Sent the video twice in a month, then Hantek disappeared. I re-sent a final e-mail today, I am waiting for a sign of life from them. At this moment no help at all, their after sale sucks.

    The Acquisition Mode is the crucial parameter of any DSO. Most current DSO (except FINRSI) work only in Real Time. This oscilloscope in Real Time mode has a bandwidth of 25MHz, and a sampling rate of 200MSa/s, and these are parameters which should be taken into account when comparing it to Siglent, Rigol or better brands DSOs. Only in Equivalent Time (ETS) mode it has the declared 100MHz and 1GSa/s. But Equivalent Time mode (or a sampling mode) is a crap, haunted by aliasing, and useful only for repetitive signals/waveforms.

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Yes I know that the oscilloscopes have a much lower ratio of sampling rate than the advertised, even so, 200MSa/s is what you get on a DSO138, a Owon 1104 tested seems to have more than that. But I trust in your words. Thanks for watching! 👍

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello! Hard choice there or not, the Hantek is a very complete oscilloscope, but I always belive more in the Rigol quality. If you are beggining and want the complete package, go with hantek but beware that the bandwidth is not the 100/150Mhz they say and on Rigol you get exactly what they announce. So Rigol more accurate readings and overall quality, Hantek you have almost the complete package with some quality (only missing the logical analyser) but you have to compromise with some bugs and the bandwidth not being exactly what they announce. I will do a video testing the real bandwidth of the oscilloscopes I have really soon using the rise time method. But rest, you'll be ok with any of the products. Kudos to Belarus and thanks for watching!

    I have choice from this hantek and rigol 1054z . I choose my first oscilloscope home for my hobbies. But I also study at the university in radio engineering and in the future I may need an oscilloscope for more complex tasks. The price difference between these models is almost twofold, it's a pity for the money. But many people write that the quality of Rigol is very different from Hantek and it is worth overpaying. I would not want to spend money on hantek and buy something in the future. The question for you is: how to be in this situation?

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      How'you doing! Look, the Rigol oscilloscopes are normally "upgradable", so even the 50Mhz model you should be able to upgrade to 100Mhz. If it was me, I would save 60 more euros and buy the DS1074Z Plus that already has 16 digital channels. But if you don't need them, you may go with the 1054Z, is always a good option. The diference for the Hantek 2D1* models is the function generator, but in terms of product I believe you'll be better served with the Rigol, thats my opinion. Also a nice choice will be the Owon XDS2102A 8" touch screen 12bits vertical resolution. But between the two you mentioned, I'd choose Rigol. But look, nothing is static, Hantek right now will be a better choice because is cheaper and has everything you might need for hobby/university and in the future if you consider that is limiting your work, sell that one on OLX, eBay, whatever and buy a new one that better fit your needs. Hope it helped and thanks for watching 😁

    Hi Hugo, is that DMM accuracy issue solved? I have to share some experience. The scope is actually very accurate in measuring dc rms. But u have to follow these procedures.
    1. Connect the voltage needed to be measured.
    2. Then press autoset.
    3. Then the dmm will show a somewhat accurate value.
    4. Now u have to decrease the offset by turning the offset pot. So the voltage will come down, and now you have to increase the volts per devision, in such a way that the trace can be seen on the scope.
    5. Now the voltage shown by dmm will be very accurate.
    Plz try this Hugo.

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, personally, I would go with the Rigol. You'll lose the function generator, but the rigol also has protocol decoding. In terms of accuracy (and even if I didn't tested this model) usually Rigol as supperior results than the Hantek. With Rigol you'll have 200Mhz instead of 150Mhz, 24Mbps instead of 8Mbps memory depth, well among other things. I'm not Rigol sponsored, just my 5 cents on the topic. Hantek gives you more features and it tends to be easier to work, the FFT works pretty well and overall has a lot of functions, is a very complete unit. Rigol is more established, more accurate and a little bit harder to work with, the UI is not so user friendly, but that doesn't mean you can't get things done, quite the oposite, you can do everything and is a very powerful tool. For a hobbyst you'll be tottaly fine with the hantek if you don't want to spend more money. Thanks for watching 👍

      Hi Budha, you're right! But if the world was perfect we wouldn't have a huge war right now going on. We are not in perfect world and sometimes (many) the manufacturers won't tell you the specs as they should. They claim the speed on a techincal details of the components the oscilloscope, but most of the times those components are unable to achieve the specs they mention. One fun example is the laser engravers, where they announce something 40W laser, but that is the consumed energy, not the optical power, that most of the times is 5W.... but thanks for you comment and for watching! 👍

Fear not 😁 I stoped the edition of the video I recorded last couple days just to tell you that this video on the forge is showdown between the FNIRSI 1014D, OWON SDS1104 and Hantek 2D10 and in the video you have 10 different "parameters" to compare and one of them is taking the oscilloscopes to 60Mhz (my function generato maximum) and to see how they handle the bandwidth. One of the other test is voltage measurement accuracy... I hope that I will be able to finish it today, but surelly tomorow will be online. Stay tunned. Thank you for watching and your comment! Look, as I mencioned before, my first oscilloscope was a Rigol MSO2101A it cost me near 1000€, and I decided to spend that because I wanted a very stable device that if something goes wrong with the readings, I can be sure that was because of me and not the equipment. To be honest, today I probably will go to the Owon 3000 series, it is a bit cheaper and have 14bits resolution, anyway I totally understand what you're saying. Take a look in a midle range Owon 3000 series or a Rigol 1054Z is at good price right now and siglent also has good products. Season greatings and thanks for watching! 👍

    Disappointment (very) with Hantek DSO2D10 scope . Hantek in China finally responded with instruction to re-flash firmware.Followed instruction exactly and the results were WORST > now CH1 zero is off by 800mV and reading 4V on 5V. CH2 was as bad as before. Contacted Hantek again and cannot help and was asked to contact seller! It would be questionable on the logistic , honour and followup repair all the way from China

    So I just bought the Hantek DSO2D15 with the sole intention of returning it by the end of month next month since Amazon has returned policy until Jan 31st.
    I plan on getting the RIGOL MSO5074 70Mhz beast with the full intention of hacking it into a full-fledged 350Mhz scope! It's quite abit more money but after the hack, I think it will be well worth it! I love the fact it has a big touch screen!

      Hello Steve, I was this close to buy one MSO5074 myself.... with Rigol promotions is at 800 and something euros, cheaper than mine... and yes, with upgrades we can take it too 350Mhz.... but I already spent so much money in equipment... I REALLY had to control myself 😁 it is a very nice device, kudos! Keep me posted about the usage of that unit. PS - A note that will help you if you haven't bought already and I don't have anything with them, but batterfly.com has every 10% discount in the end of the year, with the Rigol promotion you can even get a better price, free shipping. 👍

      @@TechCornerTV I'm in the USA and Butterfly doesn't look like they ship to the US. :/
      The way I look at it is that I'll probably have this $1,000 oscilloscope for the rest of my life and it will serve me better than the other oscilloscopes I've been looking at. I don't need to add more troubleshooting issues in my already complex projects I have by having to worry if my scope is working properly or even worse, freezing up on me.
      I don't have a complete lab setup like you have but I do have the essentials minus a scope with a function generator at the moment.
      I do plan on selling some of my projects as hobbyists kits and even consumer electronic products such as a "smart" heater with a constant heat setting that allows you to set an exact temperature you and blowing out the exact temp you had requested.

    The Red ring is swappable with your desired color from the same probe package which you have already seen; One probe is not stupid, a machine with functions that is not supposed to be there for a price that is maybe 50 times cheaper than ones from K-brand while comes with everything in the package is stupid. You don't complain about the silverware not real silver when you are dining at a Michelin 3 star for McDonald's price, right?

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Simeng, well in general I say this is a nice unit for the price, you can have one or other detail that isn't "perfect", but is totally acceptable considering what is delivered and the cost vs benefict ratio. On test made later, it is notorious the lack of precision with auto and low voltages. But again, in general, this is a good package of features. Thanks for watching and for your input! 👍

    • @simengfu7352
      @simengfu7352 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TechCornerTV I think this is where you hit the spot. A cheap scope has the reason to be cheap, cheap on the material, the peripherals, the build quality or the functionality, etc. That probe is €2 if you buy it separately and it comes with a pack of colored rings. If I can get a key sight this cheap, I don’t care if there is no probe at all. But coming with fancy functions that doesn’t work or lack of accuracy even for the same level products that should have had that’s stupid. All in all, I should have said that your video is packed with information and details and that is valuable to people who is just looking for something like this but have no idea what they are getting for the money. Your video give people nearly hands-on experience and that is really important for decision making. Thanks!

      Hey John, after long hours of usage of my Rigol I already managed to freeze it, but I think is my fault, the place where my is, isn't the most appropriate, I have to get a better shelf solution for my workbench. But yeah, its a total diferent story in quality, but let's be honest, there is a huge difference in price. I think this entry level oscilloscopes are needed, I've seen here in the channel viewers that have to save money a lot of time to spend some in a oscilloscope and if they have to buy one with the double the price, they can't afford it, so isn't perfect, but solves some problems, there is a market for all.
