Any player with enough experience in ranked pvp can tell you, thet elo hell is very much real in this game. More real than in something like LoL. The reason is - bad matchmaking. The fact that you can get full load of bronze 4 players in g4 game is insane. And here is why this is a big problem: most people remain in silver/bronze, because they are simple bad, they don't know how to mark and focus targets, forget to use elixir and so on. Even if you are good and trying your best to win, MOST of the time it's pure luck. You can be gold and easily get games like g2 b3 b3 b3 b3 vs g2 b3 b3 b3 b3. And in those games no matter how you try, you will have to pray that your team will be less dumb than the other one. And yes, your skill matters, but you can't ever carry those games by yourself, CC doesn't work that way. I've managed to get to crystal in all seasons and i've been stuck for some time in all tiers, and I can tell you that place, where I saw best players, ones who were literally insanely good, were tiers of silver and gold, not diamond+. And I bet you, most of them are still somewhere there if not burned down.
The thing I’ve personally experienced with Elo Hell is that when I made some changes and started to “git gud” when I did get a lucky string of games or just games where my team had some idea, I was able to capitalise on this by playing well which impacted those games greatly basically what I’m trying to say is try and make yourself as good as possible to when the opportunity comes to climb out of elo hell comes you’ll be able to make the best use of it.
The problem also, that you will be in team with THE SAME PEOPLE. And you can lose streak with high chance + after 2-3 games you became tilted and play worse yourself
Some people make a rule, don’t play after 2-3 losses in a row to stop tilt and reset your teammates
man I've even had games where the majority on the other team were various degrees of Gold with 1 Bronze and everyone on my team are various degrees of Bronze.....It's rough out here, doesn't help I started this season a week late so the ELO Hell is def showing it's face on a more serious note than it would of if I started day 1 of the new season :( It is what it is tho, I also follow the rule Darunggar pointed out. If I go on a 3 lose streak because of X, Y, Z reason, I take a break and go farm on EX's for Mats; or do anything else in the game, for a couple hours before I get back on the CC train

Because CC has lost its flavor of the month status, the matchmaking pool is much smaller, but even worse than that, the randomizer seems totally screwed because I had six games in a row with the exact nine other players in the exact same teams.
And of course I was the beneficiary of having the Paladin and Dancer who lunged in and died in the initial skirmish and immediately set us back. Nothing I did could have won those games for them.
It seems like if you start a season after the first week, you're doomed to be completely at the mercy of a group of the most mindbogglingly awful players in the game. SOMETIMES I'll get into a game with other gold and platinum players and it plays out much better, but then it's immediately followed up by a dozen matches with players who aren't even ranked Bronze 3 yet. I literally CANNOT get out of Gold.
The way you identify the classes, makes it way clearer who I should target in a fight.

It feels uncanny seeing the term elo hell in any other game than league. Coming from a years long league player...
Only way I can describe it really, I guess it's just a blanket term that can be used in most ranked games but yeah It feels weird using it to describe anything other that CS or LoL

but the more important thing that saves alot of time in researching one's own path.
Knowing others came to the same conclusion in some facts or possible outcomes or ways forward. thus making it easier to find one's own answers than struggle.
I don't plan to move from being BLM[until i get to crystal, felt stuck at gold for awhile, and felt noticeable growth at silver, once crystal ill go PLD].
I'm a Platinum Black Mage. and I have seen another black mage that would use the opposite color of mine. and I can tell I have been a thorn on their side many times. I seen them go up, and then drop to plat4 again. me, I plateau but have progressively learned things I didn't know, and have become thorns to bruises who used to seem unreachable to me.
But all in all, things are fine.
Althought it won’t damage anyone you can still cast burst and apply the shield to yourself away from people if I’m not mistaken
@@twickisbased oh that i knew, from the people i didnt get to shock/burst hence why i mean knowing things. but this video helping solidify what one already knew. obviously not as optimal but situational.
