There is no substitute for 2 excellent batteries fully charged and maintained for a couple of days of boon docking. Recommend 2 -6volt golf cart batteries. 100 watts on roof really not enough unless you’re in deep sun. Bring warm blankets and avoid running heat all night. Best wishes from another E-Pro owner🤗
I'm just going to randomly throw a comment out there in good faith! Tell these people from the states to have me an affordable price for one of those trailers!!! Looks fun
The furnace in trailers will wipe most batteries out if they run all night and empty your propane tank. Also solar doesn't work so great that time of year the uv is to low. That is a super fun area both PA and NJ had great waterfalls.
Get a Honda 1k generator for those times you don't have battery. Run it on Eco mode. It will go all night on 1 tank of gas. It will run the heat and lights. Not the a/c. Thanks for the vid!
I had the same problem with my E-Pro. I found that if I disconnect the batteries (at the front by the hitch) during the day it will charge all day because the carbon monoxide detector was drawing unnecessary amperage. I also upgraded to two 6V golf cart batteries which tripled my amp hours. I will be using mine again in about two weeks and I'm thinking about getting a small 1,000 watt generator in case I run into several cloudy days. A generator seems much more economical than starting up my truck just to charge two batteries. Thanks for making this video and I hope you continue to have lots of fun with your E-Pro!
Thanks, and yeh we had to run our truck at night that first time we went out! We upgraded to two Lithium batteries and they last like 3 days, its amazing.
Yes, you found out that the stock solar system is not quite up to a winter night of running the furnace blower. Also having the door open while cooking lets 'free heat' escape that could have contributed to a few more warm minutes in the middle of the night. When you upgrade the panel capacity and batteries, you'll do better.
You may need to go with some AGM 200ah batteries too. 400 watts will definitely charge the flooded batteries you currently have but you still may run into issues depending on consumption after dark. I plan on adding just 1 more flex panel to our 19 GEOPRO then the 200 AH agm battery. So 200W 200AH. I think the flooded RV batteries that come with the trailer are around 80AH. Just not enough for what we need and obviously not enough for you two either. Thank you for your sacrifice! BTW
BARGAIN BUGGYS yes exactly we are runnin into the same issue. At night we won’t be able to run the heater and tank heater because the batteries will die to fast. We also plan on upgrading the batteries to either larger AGM or lithium
If you continue to winter camp which I would if I lived up there. We have taken to GA, TN and NC; Get yourself a Diesel heater which puts out a dry clean heat. I hate gens, their noisy and take away from boondocking. We are investing a Alta system with Lithium batteries yes pricey but we need a allot of A/C in Florida. We have a Honda Gen that will replenish batteries or emergency needs. We have the Trauma water heater. We carry one tank Propane. We purchased the No Boundaries 19.6 we have heaters on every tank that holds liquid. We currently have a 1k inverter which will be changed to 2500k inverter and 600w solar.
That’s what trials for. We had also some issues with our setup in the Jeep for the GoalZero until I figured out that the new 12v plug I made, didn’t deliver enogh power. So I changed it, and it worked. Funny way to carry a dog 😂.
Vegan Overlander glad you got the fix, but yes that’s exactly why we went boondocking was to find issues. Going out again in a few weeks to test it out again!
@@JamesVonwiegen Cool. Can`t wait to see more of your videos and the trailer and Hazel 😂. I`m still trying to figure out to be more natural in my videos.
Somehow I don't get how this is depressing, down to the soundtrack. I guess it depends on your viewpoint. I would have considered it all a blast, including the challenges!
Where in the Catskills was this? We are about 45 minutes from the Catskills and would love a gorgeous spot like this to escape to on short notice and boondock
If you're going to tow with a jeep, you definitely need weight distribution. Also your water tank is right under your bed, adding to your tongue weight. 10 to 15 % of total trailer weight should be the limit on the tongue. Good luck and safe travels.
I'm more referencing your newer video about the solar, but comments for that video are turned off. My questions is why not take advantage of the solar input port on the outside and use some type of portable solar panel?
You would still need to buy a charge controller for that. I also dont like the concept of having a portable system and unfolding it and worrying about someone stealing. I would rather spend extra and have me roof capable of giving me enough power.
I don’t think anythings wrong. I have pretty much the same trailer and those solar panels ain’t designed to keep batteries charged fast enough to keep up with multiple energy sucking devices. I mainly use mine just as a battery tender and run lights. And of course the fridge. Furnace very sparingly. You need other sources to charge batteries faster and to compliment solar to run high energy devices for extended periods of time. Oh yea...forget about the AC on solar🤔
Man love where you're taking this and at the start your videography was nice until you were doing solo and shaking to hell not pretty on a 65 LED lol .. Keep it real looking forward for more.. Shout out from Miami, Fla.
Beautiful area !....thanks for sharing.....the e pro fbs is our next buy I think...we have a Casita we really like but is very small and then we have a micro lite and it's a little bit for us..lol...you still liking yours ?
What are you towing the trailer with? I can’t make out your tow vehicle. Are you using sway control or any weight distribution system? I live in southern Connecticut and my wife and I are looking at this very same trailer. I just bought a 2019 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7 engine and am curious if I need to get sway control or weight distribution for it. Look forward to seeing you both on future videos. Stay safe and have lots of fun!
We have the geo pro 19fd. With 2 full propane tanks, 2 agm batteries and bike rack. The tongue weight is 571lbs. We tow with a Z71 and use the Anderson 3550 weight distribution with sway control. I would use sway control at very least. Because of the single axle.
We are towing it with a 2015 Toyota Tacoma. We are not currently using any sway control but when we go full time in March we will be buying one and towing with a Jeep wrangler
Hey guys, I just found your channel from a search I was doing on E_pro trailers as we have been thinking about buying one. I did want to ask, did you figure out what happened to the batteries not charging or the solar system? It is one of the main things that interest us with it having solar and being able to camp off grid somewhere. I know you mentioned the A/C wouldn’t run off the solar. Will everything else run, such as the fridge, heater, water heater, etc. Thanks.
Yes, so the batteries the dealer gave us from the factory were very cheap and "bad". We upgraded to 200ah Lithium Batteries and 400w of solar panels and have not had a problem running the heater at night. The only thing the Batteries will not power is AC/Microwave. It will power everything else, and propane is used for the fridge and the water heater. If you plan on Boondocking I would recommend upgrading to larger batteries and adding another Solar Panel for the start.
Remember this is an adventure and you're making memories. Don't lose that adventurous spirit.

We upgraded to 210ah Lithium batteries a few months back and now had 400w and works great. Thanks enjoy your travels.

Woottens on the Move yes we realized and will be upgrading Panels and Batteries before March.
@@JamesVonwiegen do you have the inverter turned off? That is a major power drain on those batteries.

Agreed on the diesel heaters. A lot of vanlife people use them. Very efficient.
awesome views, great job!

I forget the exact name, but it was on the compendium app. I believe we technically were in PA, right along the border.

I've had good results with the Olympian wave 6 heater
we ended up getting a little electric heater to keep out moisture and also save propane

kcdaniels58 yes we love it! Another good option is Nobo but we preferred the E Pro. They just came out with a larger E pro also

What is that tune /artist while your driving ? ineed to download it. Thanks for the channel Looking at same Trailer and upgrades.
I just spent about 15 minutes trying to figure it out and sadly I forget! I found it on TH-cam but I cant find it on my laptop or on TH-cam again.
James Vonwiegen ok thanks for trying
Buy a small inverter generator. They've come way down in price.
